GP of Slovenia wild cards
iris123 replied to tomazpozrl's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Might have been better giving the wildcard to Martin Smolinski to get lots of Germans buying tickets -
Alot of British tourists go on holiday to foriegn countrys - I just think that they should learn to speak abit of English A lot of foreign people go on holiday as well. Some even go to England I hope you are now going to learn a bit of German,Dutch,French,Swedish, etc, etc just in case someone needs a bit of help and asks you.

Mike Erskine did start riding in 1933 of course so the autograph could be earlier than the war, although if all the others are from the later period it would suggest his is also

Here is an article from Vintage Speedway Mag 1997 that may be of some interest. Click on my webshots link below and then on the Clem Beckett one

Line up for final grand prix qualifier

Probably something to do with the things you post JY2003 Must admit that you get a fair amount of personal attacks, which are not allowed, even if some of your posts are bound to rile people -

It might be that a rider that is good with the system gets through, maybe. As the riders knew the system before the meeting started they knew there was nothing to be gained from going through the quali's unbeaten,so it is rather pointless to say the best rider was knocked out, just like you can`t say the best rider didn`t win a certain G.P when all the riders know it is only the final that counts. -

Are you sure about the semis and final SCB? Seems so unfair that in a meeting this important you could win the heats and lose out on qualifying becuase of a dodgy gate in a semi or the final! Well that is the system in the G.P's,which are more important It does say so on the web-site that its semi's and a final -

Seems like the perfect opportunity. All 3 in the same place, same time.Stick 'em in a container on a slow boat to China -
CĀ“mon Hefe and Smoli Don`t believe they will win but they could play a vital role by taking points off of the more fancied riders.I`ll go for M.Zagar
-
Bit confused here Do you believe the threats are bad jokes or something more serious
-
I was only pointing out that it can happen. It's also unfair to suggest that this kind of behaviour would only happen in Glasgow. Too true.Just as well there isn`t a track in Falkirk

The Martin Dugard / Stefan Andersen incident? Certainly against Boycey when he lumped Gollob in the 1995 British GP. Also against Gollob when he layed into Bajerski last month -

Funny that.Got nothing to do with the SWC but the other week just that situation happened Team meeting,a rider falls off on first bend(slides off really),no problem he quickly remounts and is under way.The red light comes on(i presume) and the red flag man before bend 3 puts up the flag. The re-mounted rider then slows to a halt.Suddenly the bloke lays the flag on the floor and the race continues.Re-mounted rider also continues but is quite a way behind now and stays that way until the chequered flag.Result and time announced.re-mounted riders manager makes a protest .Couple of races later its announced that the race will be re-run without the re-mounted rider who was excluded for falling -
I know where you are coming from, but i am pretty much distanced from it over here. You kinda miss things like queueing up for the bus, brown sauce and a sour grape or 10 when you live away from it all
-
Got a firm grip on his grapes have you
-
Taken it well.....LOL. Must be up for understatement of the day that one Iris or have I misread the copious amounts of posts blaming others for TEAM GB's failings? Well the copious amount of postings might be from a few fans repeating themselves rather like S.Hone and his sour grape postings
-
and restock the shelves with good old British Sour Grapes Sounding like a record stuck in the same groove Mr Hone.I think the vast majority of fans have taken it very well. Most supporting the effort of the team and management as well as being gracious to the winners. And that is comming from a neutral fan as i wouldn`t support any team called Britain.England yes,but anything else no thanks

We could make him pay at Vojens,SCB

I certainly don`t think he should be made to leave after that performance, but maybehe might think that was his best chance and it ain`t going to get any better over the next few years.Only 2 of the team have a chance to improve on the performance over the next few years and i don`t know if there are many ready to take the others places.Compare that with the other teams who will probably get better, even with a few like Gollob and Karlsson also dropping out.Poland ,Denmark and Sweden look good for the future
