Confirmed Wildcards Are.....
iris123 replied to SCB's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I agree Norbold. At least it would legitimise their place in the GP's if they had beaten someone on the track. This closed shop is a farce. If thats what people want then so be it,but surprise and upsets are what make news, not "as you were".Even if they were very good at picking the best riders from this season,no-one can tell who will be the best 15 next year. -
Well i've proved you wrong then.He isn't in the top 20 in Poland and he only makes the Swedish top 16,just,because at least one of the top riders doesn't ride there.Come to think of it,if there wasn't a limit on foreigners in Poland where would he be then
-
No he couldn't have meant that because those riders in the GP's are bound to be better,no one else can get the chance to prove otherwise
-
My point Jill is you can't make sweeping statements like "they are in the top 16 on all tracks around the world",if there are facts that don't back this up.If we use the Swedish league aves, then Lee comes in at no16 .Looking good, but then Crump is missing.Oh no,your out Who else is missing, i can't be bothered to look. But,like i said before the GP's are not league speedway.I think he should be in,but you can't justify it with league averages
-
Lee's 7.04(after 5 matches) ave in Poland puts him at about 24th position in the league at the moment....so
-
I guess we would have to wait for his passport to come through, but Holta would be my choice maybe Ferjan if he can get one quicker

World Under 21 Team Cup - Line Up....
iris123 replied to jeffster's topic in International World of Speedway
With that line-up,you'd have your money on them anywhere apart from maybe Sweden -
So what was your point?Looks to me as if you were justifying Lee's position by pointing out how high in the averages he finished. If position in averages was any pointer Mr Adams would have finished how many times in the top 3 in the GP series? And if we correlated all the averages from the top leagues, would the riders have finished in the same positions as they did in the GP's?.I doubt it.
-
But are you not doing what you are accusing others on the Polish thread of doing i.e placing the British league above the others.Your saying the position of a rider in the world order can be based on his Elite average?

U21 Wtc Final/zlata Prilba
iris123 replied to tommy's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Yeah, saw that. Guess Poland must be favourites now.Is Aldén injured? Would say Kling is a weak link and Andersson will drop points as well. All depends on how often Lindbäck,Lindgren and Davidsson can beat the Polish riders -
U21 Wtc Final/zlata Prilba
iris123 replied to tommy's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Not so sure about that team Think this is the Czech team: Suchanek Simota Tomicek Sitera Malek Guess the Swedish team will be the same as in the quali,so abattle between Sweden and Poland for the title with Czech safely in third and Denmark a distant 4th,but a team for the future really.Hope to be going for the saturday and see some of you there. Will be in my Dons shirt or Celtic or Matze Schultz -
U21 Wtc Final/zlata Prilba
iris123 replied to tommy's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
The Danish team is M.Risager H.Moeller N.Klindt K.Lund P.Hougaard not sure in what order Any news on the other teams?. -
Didn't even know i had a Codec.Thought that was a painkiller or something Guess Iversen will be riding saturday in the Superliga play off final,so hope he gets through that safely
-
Wondered if anyone has seen this bit of film from the Rybnik-Gorzów meeting with Chromik and Hlib. Is that a weird riding style. Heard that both teams will be riding without foreigners(no Loram) and senior riders(no Paluch) Not sure if that is true
-
And i was quite looking forward to going. Not so sure now
-
Thanks tommy Most tracks have info on their sites but couldn't find any on the Stal site.Great help!

Can anyone help with how to get to the Jancarz stadium?.Can't find a map to see where the stadium is and how to get there from the train station.

Maybe there is a case for a riders union official to be present, assuming some of these riders are in unions. Seems to be a difference between this and the Euro Grasstrack final. Both of which were chaotic because of the weather. In the grasstrack a lot of riders refused to carry on,but at least Paul Hurry won the title on the track(and was congratulated by all that i have seen) after the meeting was delayed a day.I do think the rule should at least be changed so that if the title was going to have a "final" then the 4 top scorers should be given a chance to ride, then even if one, maybe two refuse the title could be decided on the track. If out of the four only one is willing to ride then i think they shouldn't award the title.
-
Maybe you misread the post.I took it to mean the meeting should not have started(SCB's post had nothing to do with the start only the finish).Which seems to be confirmed by the photo's and people that were there.
-
Maybe the crowd difference from last year is because there wasn't a German rider this year.
-
Yeah,and the Tiger stripes.Nice!
-
Steve,if he has the same points total as Suchanek how can you say he was the best rider. Also if there is going to be one last race to decide the champ, why not have a final with the 4 top points scorers as was planned?
-
Well he was my tip to win,but what i don't understand is,if it was to be decided with a final, why was there to be a run-off with Suchanek. Why were Hlib and Lindgren not asked?
-
Well Subedei has a somewhat strange obsession with removing Scotty,Rico and Tony Blair from their seats Can't replace them all with Poles I know that leaves it open for someone to say a pole can do a better job than Blair
-
I agree From the little i saw(some on tv and the Danish GP)Nicholls was one of the few exciting riders.Iversen as well
