  1. And is there going to be a German in the Smederna colours as well Mikael?
  2. Only took notice of that when i saw Marek Cieslak was trainer of Wroclaw.Remember him riding for White City in the 70's
  3. I'd have to agree with Kevin.I've seen a few meetings here with sidecar racing and it's not the same as on the longtracks.Quad racing is maybe more suited to smaller speedway tracks. They have also started running shorttrack racing alonside speedway on some tracks here, which has brought howls of protest from some.Think Teterow also had rally cars this year on the Bergring. Would have to say, having been yestarday to a meeting with 2 500cc classes,a sidecar class and 3 different 50/80cc and a 250cc , i much prefer a simple team meeting with maybe a junior group interspersed between the heats.Although the youngsters must get their chance, all the breaks for presentations are boring and lets face it 50cc and 80cc speedway on a normal speedway track are no spectacle either.
  4. I think there were quite a few females taking photos Shortoi Hope his celebrations went better than his season. One to forget really. Was expecting him to get on the rostrum, but with a 6 rider final on a small track it was always going to be a tight first bend.Unfortunatelly Henning got taken to the fence by Sorensen and the others went past him.He was then doing wheelies at the back And one way or the other he seems determined to spend next season in Britain,so you'll all be able to see him more often

  6. Dunno if it is,but i was going to say it's a good bet that one of them is called Reg,Ernie or Cyril
  7. Harry Bastable? Is it Olle Nygren on the left of Stan?
  8. Well i thought Iversen was a bit unlucky to only get 7 in Copenhagen. Can't see how you can think Lindgren should be in when his ave is lower than Iversen?
  9. If it was held at Reading or Krsko he might have But i have to agree.Don't think he is ready and will be struggling for points

    Canterbury

Thought the whole story was explained on here on one of the many Canterbury threads If it has been deleted i'm sure one or two of our members will explain again,eh Kev,Shazz
  11. Anyway if it's coastal tourist areas they want, then what better than Stralsund(recommended by M.Ferjan). Lovely old town, with plenty of tourist attractions.Situated right by Germany's biggest island Rügen, summer playground of Erich Honneker.Part of Pommerania, it shares history with Poland and was also part of the Swedish empire at one time,so already has lots of interest for two of the main nations. Also for all their faults the communist government were very keen to promote FKK(Freikörperkultur or naturism),so not only are there plenty of babes on the beaches, a large proportion don't have any clothes on Oh,i forgot, there's also the Beer
  12. It's a disservice you do me,for twas only a suggestion.Just thought that would be quite a good idea as so many people from speedway countries will be here for the footie anyway.I'm certain of nothing
  13. For some it's half empty, others it's half full Anyway Steve thinks it's sold out, just like Poole was the other year
  14. I don't expect to see him in as anything other than a wildcard.Think he will go the same way as Ulamek and Walasek.Soon get overtaken by the youngsters coming through.
  15. Well maybe the World Cup was good(didn't see it) but just seen the ELRC and the racing wasn't too good.Maybe a bit to do with the tricky position of the sun,but riders were also commenting on the track.
  16. But would the Czechs want it?It's good as an idea, but if a country isn't strong would they risk holding an event they might not get into the final of?At the moment only Poland,Sweden and Denmark would be good bets to qualify.Britain should, but you wouldn't bet too much on it.As was said the attendances for a week in Denmark were not too good, which leaves Sweden and Poland with Britain. After a few years of that it will get pretty boring especially if one of them(Sweden or Britain, possibly)gets weaker. Can see it being held in more than one country
  17. Well i think they should have it in Germany alongside the football one. With Lindbäck in it we might even attract some of those lovely Brazilian ladies along
  18. Agree with you Bert.Trevor was part of the backbone of the Dons side for a number of years.Just for me as a youngster at the time there were riders i didn't take to i guess.Ronnie Moore was just superb no matter how old he was.Great rider and very friendly. While Tommy Jansson was the new kid on the block. When i look back now it seemed to me that some of the guys were ancient.McKinlay and Goody spring to mind and they were younger than i am now Guess i took to the younger riders more, even those that were not superstars in the making.Rob Jones for example was a favourite for a while Thanks for that Linda. She was one of the characters at Plough Lane i always remember, even though i never knew who she was.
  19. Must say i'm getting confused with all this.I thought it was enough just to take out a "local" licence, but not sure now.For instance,Marcin Sekula was riding in the 2.Bundesliga this year and i thought he maybe just took out a german licence but have seen that the rules were changed and riders must have citizenship. Now surely Marcin doesn't have german citizenship as he also rides in polish 2nd division and in polish junior champ, etc. Last year Stralsund rode with up to 3 polish riders.Puszakowski,Frankow and Kowalski but i'm sure 2 had german licences. Anyway whatever happens i hope Kevin gets a place,i'm sure he will do well.He is one of the few local riders i really enjoy watching
  20. Just been sent some Dons programmes and in one the the Mayor of Merton is reminiscing and saying Trevor was one of her favourite riders. We all have different favourites and i must confess Trevor wasn't one of mine.Always remember there was an old lady on the second bend who always waved and cheered for him. Just wondering how he was viewed by others at the time. Was he at one stage seen as the new young star, the new white hope. After all he came along at a bit of a low point in terms of talent.Anyone with memories of him?
  21. Thanks for the info tommy.Sounds serious. Can't say i really have a favourite Polish team, but because of Eddie Jancarz,Gorzow would be one that i look out for.Would hope to get there next season for the Jancarz meeting,if its on. As for Zielona Gora, would like to plan things better next year so that i can get to a meeting.Would really like to see Kevin Wölbert ride in Poland. So once the fixtures are out i will try and plan things better.Have found a couple of bus companies that do Hamburg-Poland.
  22. We do have a 250cc 2 stroke class here in Germany, but from what little i've seen of it,it is a hobby class for "fat blokes" Not a step up from the 80 or 125cc. Results here
  23. Think the news is out now and you can add Christian Hefenbrock to the Luxo Stars team.Good luck for next year.Heard that Christian approached them for this season, but was far too late(o.k for the bundesliga, which gets sorted at the last moment),they were pleasantly surprised and said they would put him in the team in 2006 if all worked out.Seems it has
  24. Anyone have news on Gorzow?Seen on the net that they maybe have lost their sponsor and could be in financial trouble.Maybe have to drop down a league? Not seen anything concrete on this.Is it just a rumour?
