There is a small section on the pre-war women riders in the Crystal Palace book, with a few pics.Sounds quite an interesting book if it's a warts and all thing.Though it surely wouldn't be concentrating just on her speedway career
-
I'll go. 1.Bulankin 2.Krasnikov 3.Lumpov 4.Posa 5.Bogdanov
-
Not sure about that, but you might want to look at your top 4 predictions in the light of learning Puk isn't in the Reading team

Golden Spike 2006 - Riders/results
iris123 replied to Conkers's topic in International World of Speedway
Conkers, could be more to do with fielding a strong team at Berlin.Could be a right damp squid if not only Bauer, but Eibl,Nikulin and Pletschacher are all on the sidelines -
Here are the dates already for next year.Well most of them.Wow! From my point of view its good to see a couple of meetings at Vojens including a Final Think I'm correct in thinking Gandrup for the 1000cc sidecars is just over the border as well!
-
Looks very much like Wembley circa 1938?,Eric Gregory with the tache,Lionel van Praag,Malcom Craven among others.Await an expert opinion though.3rd from left,Wally Kilmister?
-
Yes,but i don't think they will be able to justify his selection among those 5 if he hasn't even made the Polish nominations into the qualifiers.Let's assume a scenario such as Jarek is among the top 8(maybe top 9 without Rickardsson?),Tomek just outside and Pepe,well...If Tomek isn't in the quali's i bet he will get one of the 5 picks and there will only be another Polish pick if one hasn't got one of the 3 quali places,if someone has qualified then there will be only the one Polish pick,i would say.

Done! Can happen to us all. Don't be led on by subedei,he see's reds under the bed, conspiracy's everywhere! Firstly the Poles seem to be running a proper meeting to decide who gets their nominations for the GP's.If Kolodziej doesn't make it,tough! Also it has to be mentioned that Gjedde has been overlooked for the Danish nominations,so...... Let's not forget that Reading used to hold WTC events and it isn't some sleepy coastal village, but nicely placed for London journo's
-
And........?I'm confused!
-
Wait a minute before you start throwing accusations of something underhand here.If Andy Smith gets through the GP quali's(with the help of the ref) then, maybe! Do you mean Matej, rather than Puk?

Thanks for the quick reply garf Just trying to work out how many times i will travel to Denmark this season.Just need to find out if there will be any Denmark v Sweden U21 tests and if John Jørgensen manages to arrange his jubilee meeting
-
Guess i should have asked "how are they related?". Also garf, have you any info on the Danish championship this year.Looks like there will be 2 finals. Will it be an "open" championship like the one originally planned last year or just Danish riders?
-
And are Åke,Peder and Mikael related at all?
-
On the "other" Wiggy thread wherever that was.Think in speedway general discussions i did go into a bit more detail.I did in fact say that Julian's and Charlie's as well as Simons daughters contributions were very moving, but i did find that section maybe 30-40% to long.In all honesty i don't think all the contributors, great and small had something "interesting an unique" to say,but thats my opinion. It is however a very good book,i would recommend it,just for me a smaller interview section replaced by a stats section would have made it perfect.sorry

Thanks for that CHK,great pic.Any idea when it was taken?

Doesn't seem to matter where you go in the world, the people who run speedway have a knack of cocking it up!
-
Said much the same on another thread. The first bit was good.Second half of the book was very much a filler.I would rather have had full statistics for Simons career than all those interviews

World Cup To Be Staged At Reading
iris123 replied to scabby3's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Yeah,i heard this a few days back. Can't for one minute think there is any truth in it.It's never going to attract enough to make Cardiff affordable. And what if the Brits fail to get through?!?!Exciting as they might be can't see too many punters wanting to shell out 30 quid or so to see Poland win Subedei and Honey maybe -
Kaparna Speedway Fixtures 2006
iris123 replied to Van Helsing's topic in International World of Speedway
Yes,it was quite a while back anyway Tomaz.Long before the Elite league could get anything sorted -
Haven't you noticed the amount of non-polish riders in the leagues compared to any other year?!?!
-
Just tell me the line up for the sparing meeting at Gorzow,so i know if i should make the effort If the Gollobs,M.Rempala etc are all there then it might be worth the money!
-
Well i did come across an english language Saransk site, that ad a bit of Ice speedway on it.But the person doing it had as much of a clue on translation as me!The semi at the weekend was held at Intsels and the top Austrian rider is Franz Scorsc
