  1. Jesper Olsen Anyone remember Kjaer's first name?Think it was Kraus, but was it Klaus? Also didn't Simone Terrenzani ride in England last year?
  2. Denmark Alf Busk K.Kjaer Finn Jensen Finn Thomsen Bo Petersen John Eskildsen Preben Eriksen Tommy Knudsen Peter Ravn Jens Rasmussen Morian Hansen Bengt Rasmussen Michael Lohmann Arne Pander J.Staechmann Sam Nikolajsen Hungary Sandor Levai L.Munkaszi
  3. I agree Mikael. All depends on what team they can put out within the points restictions.Very good reserves as well as top end,but who do you put in?Can see some of them only getting one or two meetings.Brovst are the team i want to see with Zabik and Hlib in the line-up
  4. Just to update as while i've been in England the Brovst team has been finalised Brovst Hans Andersen M.Risager S.Jensen C.Nedermark R.Kosciecha(Pl) K.Zabik(Pl) J.Rempala(Pl) P.Hlib(Pl) A.Andersen L.Vedsted L.Hansen J.Kristiansen Bring it on!
  5. There is also an interesting (although i haven't seen any proof) suggestion that in 1924 "Ice speedway" was held in Russia. If true it might be reasonable to believe they also held similar racing during the summer on dirt/grass.
  6. No Point 1 There were 2 riders Ray and Rob Dole Point 2 Were there 2 riders Robby and Robbie Blackadder?
  7. Couple of things there.Again you have forgotten Ray Dole, and surely Robbie and Robby Blackadder are the same rider?
  8. Yeah i know.Just stating that i hope to get a chance to see him again before he finally calls it a day
  9. He is also very popular here in Germany, where he has been given the name Andreas Schmidt by some fans Wish him all the best and hope to see him over here before his farewell meeting! Remember last year at this time,Andy was late for an open meeting at Güstrow. They held the meeting up,giving us updates on how far away he was.He arrived, jumped out was within minutes out on the track and came pretty damn close to winning the thing. But i think everyone knew it was worth waiting for Smudger because he was the most entertaining rider there. That sort of sums his career up for me
  10. Well Bonnie Tyler has been on tele here a few times lately,so she does have a fan base in Germany as well. Not as big as the man who caused the fall of communism though, obviousy! Lets face it they could have got Bonnie Langford, now that would be bad!!!
  11. He was transfered a couple of times during the year though Norbold
  12. Was it James Moore or James Moor? I have a speedway star article on him and it states his name is James Timu-te-kere-Herini Moor Also have an article on Mitch Shirra before he came over stating he was the son of a former Glasgow rider.Looked in the British League book and can't find anyone called Shirra only a Shearer. But Mitch's father is called Tommy and the other guy isn't so bit of a mystery and anyway was Shirra's father a Scot,Australian or New Zealander if he did ride here?
  13. Well the "remaining there until 1975" would be a falsehood unless thats where he done his time.Pity his career went awry as he did look a contender for a couple of years.
  14. Tony and Steve Langdon were part of the Aussie invasion at Poole from the mid 80s along with Stan Bear,Craig Boyce,Leigh Adams.Probably more.Due maybe to neil Street connection ?
  15. He did have a break for the 74 season. Was convicted of receiving stolen goods,i.e bikes and equipment nicked from the Russian riders who were here for the World Final.Found the stuff at his brothers house a few days later. Not sure if they both spent time in prison
  16. I think both Ray and Rob Dole.Rob rode in the 70s for Stoke.Ray rode 85 for Exeter & Poole.I have a photo of Ray Another was Peter Casserly who rode for canterbury Oh and another i got help with a while back was Jim Crowhurst also rode a few meetings for canterbury Gary Flood rode for Crewe Danny Kennedy (Newport) Bob Young (Crayford) Mal Mackay (Workington)
  17. And missed a few from my earlier posts Kym Amundson (Workington) Ray Dole(Poole)not sure if he is related to Rob Dole Musn't forget Neil Cameron who was mentioned on the NZ thread. And Chris Bass
  18. Paul Wells(younger brother of Jim)did he ever make it into a team?
  19. Who taught you to ride the other tracks?Want to get a refund Joke
  20. Another father and son Ted & Eddie Argall
  21. Middleton was indeed from Australia. Kym Amundson(brother of Robin?) Dave Cheshire Peter Moore Ray Dole(any relation to Rob?) Chum & Glyn Taylor
  22. And the first 2 Aussies here Billy Galloway and Keith McKay And like i suggested earlier i think you could safely go through all the internationals here in Britain for sure and get a large list of Aussies.Think there were always enough good riders in Britain that they never needed to import any for internationals.Jim Airey being an exception for the 73 World Series as i remember at the time he had retired from British Leagues. Billy Lamont Gordon Guasco(?)
  23. Funnily enough Steve,he was often programmed as Saunders,i think.Sure i have a meeting on video where he is named as Saunders and/or Dave Lanning calls him Saunders! A few Wayne Forrest(Crewe) Dave Mills (Halifax) Robin Amundson(Hull) Rob Jones(Wimbledon) Jack & Mal Bedkober (Exeter) Greg Kentwell(halifax) Doug Underwood(Scunthorpe) Ricky Day (Birmingham) Graham Warren(Birmingham) Vic Huxley(Wimbledon) Phil & Sam Bass(Long Eaton)+Chris Bass Phil Herne(Birmingham) John Langfield(Poole) Todd Wiltshire (Wimbledon) Stan Bear(poole)
