Team Speedway Junior World Championship
iris123 replied to DutchGrasstrack's topic in International World of Speedway
Updates can be found here.Germany take an early lead -
Puts him under tremendous pressure to do well though.Do think Iversen will do well, based on what i saw last year.
-
Well he did ride one or two meetings last year.He was listed in the pre-publicity and he did make one of few appearances there a couple of years back,so i thought he might be there. Funnily enough just seen this which if they don't change it before anyone reads it has Ronni instead of Hansen Have seen from an un-official source that the attendance was 9,000+
-
I still think they should have some sort of quali on the day or maybe the day before.Say the 2 riders who finished in the last two places from the previous GP and 6 outsiders in two or more heats(2 if held on GP day). That way you get a chance to give riders who are in good form a chance.Have a shake up at the bottom of the GP pile.Put Richardson and Pepe, etc in with Hans,Joonas,Kolodziej, etc

Not sure on that.I do know that both Ronni Pedersen(which would fit with the flag) and Joe Screen were announced in the line-up a week or so ago.Could be either of them or someone else

Yeehaaa! Congratulations to Kevin Wölbert on making it through to the Final -
Result from Final 1.B.Hamill 2.S.Ulamek 3.N.Klingberg 4.C.Louis 5.C.Gjedde 6.S.Drabik Full heat results here Due to bad weather there was no action on the Bergring grass track yesterday. The riders were worried naturally that the track was too soft for an ambulance to reach them if an accident occured.

Pity we don't get to see these guys too often up here. Was quite impressed with Facher when he rode in the U21 Final at Teterow a few years back. -

Chris,i am a bit reticent to describe Klindt,as since i described Patrick Hougaard as a gater he has looked more a racer but Nicolai is also an exciting racer from what i have seen.Must say though i have as yet not seen him this season and speaking to someone at Vojens saturday he has improved unbeliveably from last year. Will have to wait until the Superliga next week before i get to see him this season. You can be sure he has had offers. As for more info try www.nicolaiklindt.dk(cheeky bugger!just seen he has used 4 of my photos without asking ) -
German U21 Round 18.06.06 (ludwiglust)
iris123 replied to Jancarz's topic in International World of Speedway
Don't think you have the correct info. Here are all the dates for Mecklenburg(the area that covers Güstrow,Parchim and Ludwigslust. The meeting is 02.09.06. The track is a bit out of the town. One of the guys i know goes by train and said it takes at least 30 minutes to walk(If you know where you are going ). It's a good track, one of my favourites.Sadly they have little money and the Longtrack by the speedway track is wasting away.Heard great tales of meetings where the riders had a combined Longtrack/Speedway competition. If you are still interested in going there sometime i could maybe take you out there from the town,if i'm going. -

Looks like it will be very close.Nikolai Klindt seems to be flying so far this season and Morten is getting his form back .Denmark should win,but Germany or GB could spring a surprise.I think Hefe,Stange and Wölbert are capable of beating all the opposition and Tobi and Max(not sure if his form is so good this year) are also capable of winning heats. -
@TJI, If you read what i said,i was comparing the rain that i was going through on my way to both tracks. Not at the tracks. The first paragraph is a general comparison, the second a specific couple of incidents where i had to make a decision...push on or turn back.On both occasions i made the right decision,so how you can say i am wrong is beyond me.

I came over to see if you were there garf, unfortunately you had more important things to do.Had a good chat with Kenneth and Lasse's father. He said he only spoke a little english. You can tell him from me he spoke perfect. Will have to start learning Danish,i guess . The Vojens team looks very strong, with World Champ Simon Nielsen being the lowest scorer.René Bach looks a good tip for this years championship. Yogi was off to Poland after the meeting.Hope it all goes well today

Wolrd Cup Qualifying - Updates ?
iris123 replied to German Speedway Fan's topic in International World of Speedway
Pity that Germany lacked support for the top 3.Thought Katt would do better.A shame that German Champ,Matze Schultz isn't in great form this season and Kevin Wölbert is still a bit too young.Next year -

Yes,i must say i was impressed with both the track work and the riders.Never seen anything like it before.Even here in Germany, maybe because most tracks only have 1-3 meetings a year, they don't seem to know what to do when it rains apart from call it off.A few years back when i first started going to speedway here i went to a meeting on what was a pretty nice day, only to find out it had been called off about 4 or 5 days earlier.I have now seen meetings get called off here sometimes a week in advance Seems there is a lot that can be learnt from some clubs/countries attitude.I was extremly lucky as i was thinking of turning round and going home, but i thought "I've taken a day off work and come this far i might as well get to the track" Last year for a big meeting at Güstrow in less rain i did turn back and made the right decision as it was cancelled!

Very nice collection of photo's Gemini. The main stand looks very nice. Some of those riders in the 1949/50 pic look scary though

Well i guess British clubs could learn a thing or two here. Was a wet afternoon, but cleared up an hour or so before the start. Then about 15 minutes before the presentation a big black cloud came over and the heavens opened. It poured down for a good 30 mins. The riders came out to look at the track, then the staff went to work.Scraped off the slime and relayed a track. The meeting went ahead about 50 minutes later than planned Holsted 54 P.Ljung (2,0,1*,3,2*)8+2 H.Møller (0,3,2,1*,2)8+1 N.K.Iversen (3,2,1,3,3,2)14 U.østergaard (1,3,0,0,3)7 J.Raun (2,1,2*,2,0)7+1 P.Hougaard (ret,2*,3,2*,2*,1*)10+4 Brovst 45 R.Kosciecha (3,3,3,0,0,f)9 M.Risager (1,2,2*,1*,6,3)15+2 P.Hlib (0,1,3,2,1)7 J.Kristiansen (2,1,0,0,0)3 L.Hansen (3,0,1,1,1)6 A.Andersen (1,0,0,3,1)5 Den Staerke Partner M.Risager bt J.Raun Publics choice for best fighter P.Hougaard Must say despite being sceptical about the meetings chances of going ahead the track staff done a great job and all the riders put on a fantastic show.It was hard to pick any riders as they all deserve praise, but Puk,Morten and Patrick Hougaard were superb.Kosciecha looked unbeatable in his first 3 heats, then in his 4th he gated then Puk came round the outside. After 2 laps Hougaard came through the inside then as Robert tried to stay with Patrick he lost control on the next bend and coasted home in last place. After that he couldn't regain the superiority he had in the early heats. The rain started again for the last few heats and i was really surprised they ran the "staerke partner" heat. A few pics here

Last heat clash with Jonsson, saw them both go into the fence and Jonsson excluded.Misses today,Tomorrow and the eastbourne meeting, but don't think it is anything serious

Nicki was injured in Poland, sunday.Sadly he will miss the Holsted meeting tomorrow as well As Bjarne will be riding for Poole don't know who will be riding,if it goes ahead
