  1. Don't want to go too far off topic, but i did hear from one of my German friends that Erik has done a bit of training over the years in Poland. He has also done a lot of 80cc stuff in Denmark.Think he rode in the YGT in Eskilstuna. The trouble is he was stuck with the "wonder kid" name from the German press at an early age(12/13 years old).He did very well in his first season on 500cc last year.Think he was leading the qualifiers for the U21 championship here in North Germany for most of the season. He was absolutely everywhere last year.Almost every meeting i went to,Erik was riding. This year was a bit quiter.I saw him riding for Vojens and he didn't look like he had progressed that much. But at that age they can go for a while without much development then come on in a giant leap the next year.Just like Wölbert and Hefenbrock have in the last few seasons. Sorry guys........back to the Elitserien
  2. I find it absolutely amazing that he can still compete with the best, but more amazing i think is that at that age he still wants to A real legend. Will he ever stop?
  3. Yes that was how the final finished, but then they added all the scores together.Go to "gesamtergebnis" and you will see the final placings Yes Cliv Clav it is a really good show, from start to finish.Laser show,fire-eaters,the tiny 50cc riders from Denmark, the sidecars have to be seen to be believed how they battle on the tiny track.Plenty of freebies from the riders. They have an autogram stand like the GP's.Well recomended. The only thing is the line-up seems to get weaker every year and this year there were complaints that the track preparation took a long time between the heats. But if you fancy an indoor meeting in February in Kiel there is a 2 day meeting with speedway(a better line-up)plus freestyle MotorX
  4. Yes,i agree with the first part.Definitely a big loss, those 3.And a good step forward with the reserves Unfortunately Germany will now struggle. Both Hertrich and Lieschke have "retired",i think Of the others maybe Erik Pudel comes into contention, but he is still i think 16.Not sure on the youngsters down south,Facher and Demmel for instance. Not sure on their age. There really hasn't been many new youngsters coming on the scene for the last few years. They have a new ruling in the Bundesliga for next year. Each team must have an U21 + U19 rider
  5. Not a great squad, compared to recent years.Obviously Jonasson must be the big hope.Have seen a number of them.Kling i think hasn't really progressed that much since i first saw him in 2004.Forsberg i saw in the test against Denmark in Malmö.Looked good, but that day Denmark were poor.Even Klindt looked poor that day.Törnqvist,Pettersson and Berqström are also just average riders from the little i have seen of them.Have to hope one of the newer riders like Lindgren or Eklöf comes on next year.Would have thought both denmark and Poland have better squads, but it hard to tell how the youngsters will develope each year
  6. No.I got the impression VV is too bashfull to approach him
  7. Think he gave up waiting there and was last seen by Vega at Arena Essex last year?
  8. Just seen on the Swedish site. The whole thing has been called off

  10. Oh,that looks better.Thanks.Bruce Flanders(is that the land speed record guy, actor, friend of Briggo)said he thought the good times were coming back to the US scene. Is there a feeling of optimism over there, that the sport is on the up and the new wave of talent will make it? Must add that i thought the young lady,Krystal Kramer looked very good.A real battler
  11. Certainly looks a great facility. And must compliment the web-cast people. That is super.Unluckily for me i have problems with the time on the normal wednesday ones.Just getting ready to go to work at that time,so hard to watch more than 1 or 2 heats.Just want to ask about the crowd though.Seemed poor. Was that because it was a saturday just before Christmas?,the weather? or are the crowds there generally poor? Are crowds at other tracks the same or better?
  12. Any thoughts on the likely squad for the U21 team.6 or 7 riders with the best chance at the moment?
  13. THe results are from a couple of sites Conkers. The Russian forum.forum.speedway.ru + www.russpeedway.ru Trouble was they sometimes post the results in a document which i can't read. That is why i didn't get the Ufa results. But i did see earlier they had them on the Assen site Thanks for the full line-up Niklos

  16. Yeah.Any idea who it is?.Sounds like an ex-rider,from what he was saying earlier.Looks a bit like Nick Nolte. And they get the heats going fast. One race finished the next lot out on track
  17. I'll be looking forward to watching. But one rider in particular.Young Thomas Reich, who was over in Denmark for the 80cc WC.Just to see how he goes on home soil

  19. Interesting idea Parsloes. Here is what they will be using tomorrow.Put the cursor over the photo and it shows the inside of the arena.A horse riding/jumping hall.

I agree with you there Jim.If only i could go back to my youth and take a look at the tracks that were still there at the time.Take a few pics of New Cross,West Ham,Harringay, etc and have a mooch around

    Crystal Palace

This is pure speculation, but could the 5 grand be the total cost of conversion, including building the pits, etc rather than just the track? And i don't think Ken Burnett's speculation has any grounds,Jim.There is no way the speedway could be anywhere other than where the football stadium and therefore the Athletics stadium is.In photos of the football stadium and plans of the grounds it is to the left of the central avenue. The stands for the football and the speedway are the same. They wouldn't move the stands a few hundred yards, surely.Plus looking at some of the speedway photos,as the riders are coming out of the bend there are a couple of big buildings to be seen with a sign for Teas and light refreshments".Because of these buildings it places the track where the football stadium was. There were 2 buildings either side of the central avenue. The track couldn't move anywhere else.Best to put our efforts to some other task as this is a no-goer,all this speculation
