  1. Went there once to get David Hay's autograph, when he moved from Celtic. Peter Osgood used to have a boutique along from the training ground towards the Cricketers
  2. Oh I think that is a little unfair. She say's she tried out one of the bikes and has ridden Indian bikes in the States and gets goose bumps watching the guys and gals racing round. And if you turned off after 55 s, you missed the nice shot of her rear bumper
  3. As an example, how many High Beech first meeting programmes are known to exist ? And how many Autodrome programmes are known to exist ?

  5. Seems Celina Liebmann makes history as the first female to score a point in a Polish league meeting......ever !!
  6. Guess you can take what you want out of these figures, but one thing at least, the top man from 1930 in the North, Ginger Lees, basically missed the 1929 season, as he was riding in Hamburg and sometimes Copenhagen. Think he basically beat all comers including Jervis. The only rider to really get the better of him was Sprouts Elder
  7. Used to be a regular in the shop. Didn't work that far away at one time. The one book I sort of regret never buying, was a history of Stamford Bridge. Of course mostly about Chelsea football, but did have a section on the speedway. I just couldn't bring myself to buy what was mainly a Chelsea book
  8. See that Danil Ivanov is in Russia starting to prepare his bikes for the new season. Have my doubts that much, especially in Western Europe will take place. But hope springs eternal
  9. That would be a normal price for a pristine example ? Or even a bit manky/filled in ?
  10. For me the subject has been done to death on numerous threads, which is why I couldn’t be bothered to go over it all again
  11. Something for you to aspire to if you manage to climb up to that level then
  12. Let’s hope you know more about football than you do about speedway
  13. Guess it is one of them trolls that change their name regularly ?
  14. That may be. But you said he can't, which just because he has another licence doesn't disqualify him. Maybe if you post precisely, then we might understand. If it is his decision that he doesn't want to then just say so Think Ferjan might have had a Hungarian licence, but supposedly went to ride for them thinking a passport was going to turn up. It didn't and he had to wait another year or two before he could ride for Hungary
  15. Not simples.....he needs citizenship, not a licence for team meetings
  16. He can, but maybe they won't pick him ? I know they had some problem with Latvia for choosing Laguta as their wildcard and Laguta was supposedly trying to gain Latvian citizenship, but failed the language test
  17. On the other hand he was desperately disappointed that he wasn't in, so must have been up for it. But I do give you the fact after he found out he wasn't in, he must have dropped his guard and not prepared how he would have done
  18. An individual meeting, you can represent any country as long as you hold a licence. But you can't represent a team without holding a passport.....an old subject that confuses many
  19. That doesn't count though. That goes on licence, as G Laguta represented Latvia a few times if you go on that
  20. Seems similar to the young Trofimov who recently won a gold medal for Poland, having been a Ukrainian before. But it depends on the sport. Some have an automatic pause of I think 3 years when you represent one country and change to another. But basically it seems to be rife
  21. Not this years meeting, but was a nice surprise today, watching a holiday programme about canoeing in the area, that the 3 they were following took in a trip to Güstrow to watch the speedway. For two it was their first ever visit, whilst one of the guys was a regular https://www.ndr.de/fernsehen/programm/epg/Wunderschoen,sendung1000702.html
  22. Too technical for me. Not a scooby what that means. Guess they know as they were on the spot though
