  1. How would that be viable?.I mean how would you compensate riders for loss of sponsorship? If you look most foreign riders have foreign sponsors. Not only Nicki Pedersen, but riders below that like Mads Korneliussen,Kenneth Bjerre,Henning Bager,Kenneth Hansen.During the winter the riders had a big shock when they thought the Danish Superliga had been scrapped. The chances were, without a "top" league they would be losing their sponsors. If you sign a foreign rider and then tell him he must be based in the UK and have no other foreign league commitments how do you compensate him for the loss? Then how do you think the foreign clubs and federations will take to losing their top riders(i guess you only want foreign riders of a certain level)for the season? They might find themselves not picked for prestigious International meetings, and further drain their bank balance
  2. Think the idea is that you then select the top riders at the Final,as they obviously do well at Coventry
  3. You're a bit slow. The draw has been on this site for a while now.Only in the right section.Namely Internationa World of Speedway
  4. Thanks Peter.I found my line-up on the Outrup site.Yours is very slightly different.I thought Claus Vissing was seeded direct into the Final.Makes no difference. As long as the weather is fine i will be there.Still undecided about tonight though as the weather isn't too good here. Just checked on the DMI site and the weather looks even worse in Vojens/Esbjerg area so i will wait.Friday and maybe Sunday will do
  5. Outrup line-up Henning Bager Leon Madsen Jesper B. Jensen Klaus Jakobsen Jesper Kristiansen Lars Hansen Casper Wortmann Mads Korneliussen Dannie Søderholm Anders Andersen Morten Risager Henrik Vedel Jonas Raun Kenni Arendt Larsen Charlie Gjedde Ulrich Østergaard Jan Graversen Peter Juul Which looks pretty strong.I guess they must surely have cancelled the grindsted meeting as all the top riders seem to be here
  6. Not according to Robert Barth. He kept pronouncing it Warschau(Warsaw)
  7. The young kids from Oz had never been on an 80cc bike before they arrived in Denmark last year Steve. They got there early and got a bit of practice in and surprised everyone. One of the Dads was telling me the trainer(i think it was Clausen)was holding his head in his hands telling the kids "No,You are doing it all wrong!" After two had qualified for the Final, one Danish dad came up and said "How did you mange that?We have been trying for a few years to qualify and not made it" And all that with very little official help from Australia. The attitude of the families and the riders was superb and i do feel it tells you something that they are willing to spend so much time, effort and money to get this done, whereas we haven't entered anyone. Last year there was even an entry from the US and that hot bed of speedway France.
  8. Great line-up in Vojens Can't wait for this one.It will also save me the hassle of going to Teterow to see Kennett(Bridger is also listed as riding but Eastbourne are on the same night).Plus get to see Lewis,Jurica,Holder,Batchelor and young Gustafsson.Pity Sajfutdinov is in the other semi, but you can't have it all.At least Morten and Nicolai and Kevin are there as well
  9. Next year Dave, when it is back in Denmark Wish everyone good luck.I know they impressed everyone last year and made many friends.Future certainly looks bright from what i saw last year
  10. And Blazeaway i was almost 100% with my prediction for the German youngsters
  11. Was good coverage on Eurosport.Guess it was the Sky coverage. Not sure.Got to hear Chris being interviewed without the germans talking over him.Did start late(heat 5) but during the track prep they showed the first few heats.Robert Barth was one of the commentators.Did think he was a bit monotone, talking about something other than the track action while Harris was going round the outside of the opposition! .Plenty of ads for the German GP during the breaks as well. And they did keep saying the GP was in Warsaw and pronounce Leigh's name Lai Adams, but you can ignore some mistakes. Not a bad start
  12. 16.06 Vojens.A Brit(Ed?) and Kevin Wölbert are seeded 17.06 Daugavpils
  13. You could be onto something there.I have always felt the Polish federation and clubs interfere too much in the career of their talented speedway riders.1 World Champ from all the talent they have produced must point to some problem.
  14. To discuss this reasonably without winding people up or point scoring,it isn't much of a surprise.I am not one of those who thinks Jagus will do that good this year.If he finishes in the automatic qualifying positions that will surprise me.I think about 10th.Gollob is going down hill for the last few years and Holta will be about one or 2 positions below Jagus.I did say i didn't expect much in the way of excitement or entertainment from Ulamek and was about right. The big disappointment for me is that Hampel doesn't seem to be progressing much in the last 2 years. Not sure why this is Thought by now he would be challenging for 4th or 5th place in the GP table, maybe better.
  15. Pretty much as expected, although i am surprised at how good Simon was.Now for the semi in Vojens Anyone know the draw?
  16. A really super performance from Chris.I couldn't believe it the way he was riding. And when he picked the yellow gate in the semi,i thought he had done a wrong un,but no Hope i get to see him in Denmark soon for Slangerup
  17. I can give you the answer from Ole Olsen when asked about the wildcard for the German GP.The system is the same for all GPs i guess."We will talk with a lot of people of course the German Federation among them.We have an idea who is good enough and who comes into the equation. The decision is made by the Grand Prix Bureau, which is the FIM President, the CCP President and me!" Then came the question. So the German Federation has no say in the matter?Ole replied"They can make a suggestion, like any other Federation. We will sort it out together who comes in the frame"
  18. Not sure if it is on the Russian Eurosport or not. But you may have another chance. If you register Here you can get a free trial membership.Might be a long shot but you might be able to then watch live.Otherwise amonths membership is quite reasonable.Just a thought
  19. Blimey was it that long ago I just remember the comment that the tracks he was used to could fit into one corner at Pardubice
  20. Well to be honest i don't know.I have only seen him doing Ice Speedway, where he is one of the top riders in the world. He must have some talent at dirt track speedway to be in the Ekstraliga now,but he might have never seen a track as small as a British one.Rather like Chris Kerr(was it?)who last year had never seen a track as big as Pardubice. Pity about Tobi.He is erratic but could have pulled a few surprises.Ramon on the other hand will struggle badly i fear as will Kurz.
  21. Depends on which bikes he has,but if Daniil has his Ice bikes then no-one will get near him
  22. Thanks both for very informative answers.I wasn't sure on the attendances.I just had it in my head that they would be around 3,4 or 5,000.Like Anders says, maybe to soon to make a proper analysis though.Just wondered what the feeling was.And terrible what Mikael says about Smederna and their achievements being ignored. .I hope you all have an entertaining and successful season ahead. Thanks again
