Don't think you can just go by colour. There are a number of very dark tracks still here in Germany.Güstrow for instance is very dark grey but don't think they use cinders.
-
Do you really think so? Just where did the Poles get this super machinery from i wonder? And why was it only delivered on the day, because they didn't use it in the two previous meetings. And i can't quite believe that Crump + Adams don't also have machinery every bit as good as the Poles and Danes. The Danes did improve as the meeting went on.Was that due to some better technical adjustments? But the big surprise was just how much the Poles improved and i can understand questions being asked about that
-
But you are agreeing with someone who says something different to you! Swedebasher says the Danes cheated in the Final because Ole prepared the track for the Danes. While you say the Poles preared the track the way they like it. Plus i just haven't seen anyone moan that the track was prepared the way the Poles like it.

Speedway Is Reaching ... Malaysia!
iris123 replied to miik-miik's topic in International World of Speedway
I guess with a name like that he had to win really Would love to see Bryn trying to announce the heat results from one of those meetings Seriously Good luck with the project though.Hope it was a successful opening -
Could it be more the attitude in British speedway rather than the tracks? The general ignoring what is happening in the outside world.Like Steve said,no competitors in the 80cc World Championships. We have only just started this year to enter riders in the Euro U19 competition. No team entered into the European Club Championship, where the clubs are often made up for that competition so we could send a Poole team made up of a few young brits who are contracted to the club for the day i guess. And so on........ Another thing that struck me was reading an interview with Stekkers. He was saying there was no point in having a test match against the Polish U21s in Denmark.Nothing would be learnt from beating them. The riders would learn far more from going to Poland and getting beaten there. That is an attitude not found in Britain i would say. What do they ever do with the youngsters?
-
Yeah whatever In fact, and my memory might not be as good as i think, but the one move i did think was cynical was from Hans i think in the last heat.Looked like he tried to sweep Gollob into the fence but was way too slow.Missed a fair bit of the meeting, but that was the one i saw.

He lifted a bit in the corner and came across.Don't you see that sort of thing often when you go to a meeting?Or do you only see it when Nicki does it?Not sure what you expect from the sport or the riders. The same thing with Bomber and Balinski.Do we have lots of people here going on about how unfair that was?To me that was just a racing incident the same as Nickis
-
Don't think there is much point garf. The sort of thing he is pointing out happens two or three times in most speedway meetings.Sometimes two or three times in a heat. That is speedway.Maybe Jirout wants all speedway bikes fitted with radar systems that cuts the throttle when they get too close to another rider?

Reserve Rider Theory
iris123 replied to Pinstripe's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
True. That is the scenario i was predicting a day before the meeting.I said Gollob should be reserve and come in for whoever isn't performing on the day to ensure a Polish win.Cieslak dropped balinski instead but the end result was the same -
That bit came from a Polish fan on the german forum,Peter.I looked on sportowefakty and Olsens name is mentioned, but my Polish is worse than my Danish so just guess this guy knows what it says Must say though that on watching the first few heats i thought maybe something funny was going on.Gollob was so much better than the previous two meetings and can't remember who he passed in his first heat but he left them all for dead.
-
Quote myself as i have just seen that Denmark(from what i have seen led by Olsen!)protested about the machines used by Gollob and Kasprzak. After being taken apart and examined everything was in order though
-
There isn't much point trawling the records to find a worse performance.Look to the future. If i saw right Denmark had Nicolai Klindt in the pits helping out and gaining some valuable experience.Where were the young Brits? Like others have said the format is flawed. It is obvious going into the race-off gives teams an advantage.Poland looked miles faster at first, but the Danes did get themselves into it.Why couldn't we?

Rosco Your Country Needs You.

Agreed, but he would be better off doing the catering.Think of the profits that could be made from fish rolls -

I agree. What would a guy from the middle east know about speedway? -
Rosco Your Country Needs You.
iris123 replied to Vincent Vega's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Don't agree. We keep hearing Middlo is a great motivator. What is the good of that if he can't help make a rider perform above himself?Today they didn't even perform average let alone above themselves.Look at the other team managers. All international riders, who have experience on various tracks around the world.Does Middlo have the experience to match them on all types of tracks?I say get someone who knows the way to ride all sorts of tracks not just british ones -
I must say i was impressed with Lubos in the GP qualis.Obviously had the easier meetings
-
Have you looked at Steves stats lately?Ask SCB to explain averages to you.3.36 isn't better than many and certainly not Christian

Rosco Your Country Needs You.
iris123 replied to Vincent Vega's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I would have thought GP riders like Scott and Chris should be able to get a heat win if non-GP riders like Watt,Bjerre and Iversen can.Don't you? -
Not really, but it makes Silverbee feel better
-
Disagree.Like i said i don't include Ed in the criticism, nor Allen as he wasn't in the team proper. But just look at the riders who won heats.Bjerre,Iversen,Sullivan + Watt for instance. Are you really saying we have no rider on a par with them.At least one that can win a heat?Sorry the team under-performed big time. Why,is the question.
-
Surely you can't believe that.GB under-performed tonight by a fair bit. Can't criticise Ed,but the rest? And who is the guy who should be advising and motivating them? The manager.
