This doesn't really belong here,but............is there any news on the Swedish selection for the Euro Semi final in Esbjerg. As it is only just over a week away.Waiting until after the Swedish semis on wednesday perhaps?
-
Thanks guys.Hopefully Kevin will be there Any news on the weather for sunday or a site to keep myself updated on the weather? Edit:looking on the zielonagora.pl site it predicts rain from 15:00 onwards
-
Seriously thinking of going to ZG v Rzeszow Any team news for Zielona Gora?I know the Rzeszow team as long as Scott and Nicki get through the GP ok
-
Also not sure, but maybe Berlin will be holding the German Championships next year.So there might be 3 days of speedway there as well as Assen. That would be on the thursday and would be a meeting well worth seeing. But like i say,i am not sure on that.At Assen you also get the added bonus of seeing one or two of the british guys in action on the friday
-
Well two great meetings will be Assen(Netherlands)07/08/09.03.The first night will be an individual meeting with some of the best of the rest and the next two days will be the Ice Speedway GP meetings. Then the next weekend in Berlin will see the climax of the GPs and the World Champ crowned. Both are great meetings and not reliant on the weather. That is the problem you might have if you go to Scandinavia. The warm weather last winter played havoc with the Ice Speedway season in Scandinavia. There is also the GP quali in Inzell(Southern Germany)09-10.02.The meeting isn't reliant on the weather, but i guess all the other things like skiing or snowboarding will be.Although i did see a programme that they had an artificial snow machine there that could make the pistes skiable at +40 degrees!!!(i think) I am sure Russia would be worth a visit but someone else will have to give you advice on that trip

Gollob, hackney,Boycey????This year? Or is this another entry into the wrong end of the stick grabbing comp? You win by miles Shazzy. No need for any more

World Speedway Riders Ranking
iris123 replied to Mariusz Dubi's topic in International World of Speedway
Thanks As you hopefully know i was trying to defend both sites. We will all look and think "No way can he be higher than the guy in my team/favourite".But like i said that is largely based on prejudiced views of where and when we see certain riders. -

No Delgado, maybe you misunderstood my post.I tend to agree with you.Like i said you can't put Kevin or Kyle on a par with riders they have only beaten once when they lose to inferior riders.I said it isn't easy.Just to look at the other rankings and Joonas is up there and Zetters is just out of the top 100.I would have to say that(and that is only my opinion)you have to take into account the fact that Joonas has been injured a fair bit and riding with his injuries which gives him a false average.Keep up the work -

Obviously never seen you then Henning And you are now unemployed? -
I saw Ludvig along with Freddie and the Davidsson bros early this season in Germany.Hard to really tell from one meeting but i think Simon Gustafsson looks better.Seems to overshadow Ludvig at Indianerna as well which limits his chances And what a comeback from the blacksmiths!!!!
-
Isn't that proper speedway though or does Brighton count as that months meeting?Only i thought a couple of meetings were called grass track and they get through. So if you had some other surface other than shale would that not be outside of the ruling?

World Speedway Riders Ranking

It certainly isn't easy to rank so many ridrs as Delgado has.I mean most wouldn't have ridden against each other once you get below a certain level. We can all pick holes.I wouldn't take it that seriously. It is just interesting to an extent.I wouldn't have Zetterström above Kylmäkorpi. You could also point out that Tobi Kroner is 136th and he also qualified for Vojens. It is only one place but i can't see Rune Sola being better than Simon Gustafsson either. But can you suddenly go and place Legault or Kroner right up there just because they have done well in a couple of meetings. How do you work out what meetings are worth what ranking?. Look at Kevin Wölbert.Rides in the Ekstraliga for Zielona Gora.Unfortunately for Kevin in his first year they got promotion so he has struggled a bit. But,he has qualified for the last 3 European U19 Finals.Has now qualified for his first World U21 Final, just days after his 18th birthday but is still only ranked at 253rd place. But he did beat Pavlic,Gustafsson and Risager in his U21 semi. And this season he has beaten Holder,Iversen and Andreas Jonsson for instance. Can you then put him on a level with those riders?Like i say,the task isn't easy. Each person that does such a thing would get riders in totally different places according to who they see more often, where they see them or who they like -
Well here in North Germany we almost have the basis for such a series. In the winter we have i think 4 venues.Neustadt(Dosse),Schwerin,Rostock+ Kiel.Just the promoters are working independant at the moment

New England Manager?
iris123 replied to stevehone's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Surely he would be taking on too much with this as well.I thought he was doing another job as well as Coventry and the GB youngsters.Did he join Oxford as well? -
You could predict the answers on this and who would post them in the main. Personally i couldn't give a whatever who does the Aussie job.Let Boycie keep it as he is obviously a good bloke, liked by the riders and thats all the credentials you need so it seems
-
Surely you're not suggesting Bertola?
-
Knowing how much they would like another Individual World Champ i wonder why they haven't shelled out for one or two of their riders to have such equipment in the GPs.Or do they only supply machines for Polish meetings? That sounds about right
-
Don't think you can just go by colour. There are a number of very dark tracks still here in Germany.Güstrow for instance is very dark grey but don't think they use cinders.
-
Do you really think so? Just where did the Poles get this super machinery from i wonder? And why was it only delivered on the day, because they didn't use it in the two previous meetings. And i can't quite believe that Crump + Adams don't also have machinery every bit as good as the Poles and Danes. The Danes did improve as the meeting went on.Was that due to some better technical adjustments? But the big surprise was just how much the Poles improved and i can understand questions being asked about that
-
But you are agreeing with someone who says something different to you! Swedebasher says the Danes cheated in the Final because Ole prepared the track for the Danes. While you say the Poles preared the track the way they like it. Plus i just haven't seen anyone moan that the track was prepared the way the Poles like it.

Speedway Is Reaching ... Malaysia!

I guess with a name like that he had to win really Would love to see Bryn trying to announce the heat results from one of those meetings Seriously Good luck with the project though.Hope it was a successful opening -
Could it be more the attitude in British speedway rather than the tracks? The general ignoring what is happening in the outside world.Like Steve said,no competitors in the 80cc World Championships. We have only just started this year to enter riders in the Euro U19 competition. No team entered into the European Club Championship, where the clubs are often made up for that competition so we could send a Poole team made up of a few young brits who are contracted to the club for the day i guess. And so on........ Another thing that struck me was reading an interview with Stekkers. He was saying there was no point in having a test match against the Polish U21s in Denmark.Nothing would be learnt from beating them. The riders would learn far more from going to Poland and getting beaten there. That is an attitude not found in Britain i would say. What do they ever do with the youngsters?
-
Yeah whatever In fact, and my memory might not be as good as i think, but the one move i did think was cynical was from Hans i think in the last heat.Looked like he tried to sweep Gollob into the fence but was way too slow.Missed a fair bit of the meeting, but that was the one i saw.
