Looks like we might be able to bring a live-update service from Denmark in the near future

Very poor with things like that in Denmark.I was hoping to get some things sorted.Typically though, last weeks i broke down on the way to a meeting. This week i made it,but the person who i arranged to text to couldn't do it,and now i have no transport to get me to Denmark for todays meeting

Stange has had so many injuries over the past few years that i don't think he has managed more than a few months from each season in maybe 4 years. A great pity as he doesn't really manage to reach his true potential -

What about Kenneth?I thought you said a few weeks back Nicolai is no where near as good as Kenneth? Glad you are seeing the light and he is showing some of his true potential.Just wait until he really starts to fly

Hope Antonio is ok.Looked very bad, although i honestly didn't see the start of it as i turned away to avoid the dirt from the riders. When i looked up Antonio had fallen and Patrick Hougaard and Sönke Petersen were htting Antonio and his bike.Nicki was excluded and the guys next to me were blaming Nicki for the crash. result from the meeting: Holsted 45 N.Pedersen (3,3,3,3,3,X)15 P.Hougaard (1,3,3,2',2',f.inj)11+2 H.Møller (1,1,3,3,1,1)10 T.Pedersen (0,2',0,1,1')4+2 M.G.Hansen (0,2',0,2,0,1)5+1 Grindsted 41 A.Lindbäck (2,2,2,6,3,2,f.inj)17 A.Andersen (0,2,e.f,1,0)3 J.Kristiansen (3,0,1,0,0,3)7 S.Petersen (2',f.x,1',1,2')6+3 P.J.Larsen (1',0,2',0,2',3)8+3 Photos

I can see the trouble there though. As Frank didn't take one riders programmed rides,he got a different draw to the rest.He rode for instance twice against Schützbach and Schultz, which could give him an advantage over the others i.e Vargek who had to ride against all the riders
-
Not a great rules person, but i thought it was normal.Last year in the U21 semi at Vojens,Nicolai Klindt was ruled out by the Doctors in his first heat and German Richard Speiser took his place.I figured if he had enough points to go through,he would have done :unsure:OK,this was slightly different in that Franks rides were for disqualifications,so maybe they don't normally count
-
Would seem Wembley done a similar thing. One of the photo's of the riders wearing the jumpers shows a bit of one of the riders backs and he just has the red/white Lion emblem on the back as well as they had on the front.

Slovenian Grand Prix

I thought Ole was involved in at least one soaking wet World Final and the controversial heat with Michael Lee when Ole was over the 2 minute time allowance, getting himself and his bike washed down.If there was a top rider who didn't seem to fancy wet tracks it was PC if my memory serves me well. But then i guess his style needed a dry track -
Looking at Speedway in Scotland by Henry and Moultray,i wonder if there is evidence that numbers were worn on the riders backs right back in 28/29?There is a photo at Marine Gardens in 1928 of riders wearing a sort of white strapped bib.Similar bibs worn at the opening of Glasgow White City by Buster Frogley and Billy Galloway. In another of the Marine Gardens photos(but undated, although it looks like it could be the same meeting in 1928)it shows rider wearing bibs with numbers on.Plus at the White City meeting the bikes have numbers on the front as well. Also an interesting thing in a book by Norman Jacobs(who he?) about pre war Wembley, showing the 1929 Wembley team,(also featuring Buster Frogley)and some of the riders appear to be wearing numbers on their shoulders.Strange extra bit to the body-colour.Never really noticed it before Also a photo in the Crystal Palace book of riders with numbers on their backs,pre-starting gate period(1932)

Slovenian Grand Prix
iris123 replied to driver17561's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I just question why it doesn't work for him in the GP's.Not being miserable about the fact he is there nor being derisory about his ability. It is obvious he has as much ability as most there. But this time it might have been mechanical problems ok.But it was a par for the course performance from Bjarne really. But if he gets through by right or qualifies at Zielona Gora that is fine by me.I don't take any pleasure in his continual struggle. But i guess Lindgren and Iversen will be good bets to get through in ZG if they don't qualify in the top 8.Long way to go before all that though -

That was what i was thinking as i watched him go from first place to fourth.A rider of his standard shouldn't be losing places like that.He didn't even make it hard for the others to pass him!.It just doesn't work for him in the GP's,but i guess he always feels "next time" -

I thought when Nicki was interviewed he mentioned Jason said it was his place to do something being World Champ,so he asked for the track to be seen to.And from what he said it was,and it was better.Or did i miss-hear him? Just heard the IMG guy say that it will be an expanded series next year.Which will please you -
That's coz you're weird Super first to last from Bjarne And Nicki superb again!!!!

Before this thread finally passes into history a few intersting bits from the Russian federation. They are proposing opening up the league to foreign riders which will be good news for riders like Franky Zorn and Antti Aakko, etc.Looks like they want to expand the amount of riders for each team. Also they want more(seems at the moment there are no members on the FIM track commision)say in how the sport moves forward. They are not happy with D,C,B and A finals. They propose a 20 heat meeting with semi's and a final.Points in the latter stages(maybe just the final?)count double and all points are used in the GP table Here

Seems the news from the German forum is that speedway is to finish at Wiener Neustadt.Seems a new guy has bought the stadium and wants to make it suitable for the Austrian Football league. That means no space for a speedway track. Also seems once again tha neighbours have been complaining about the noise of the speedway.Austrian speedway isn't exactly strong but to lose one of their few tracks is a major blow to the sport in the country

Have to say the Kenneth Bjerre that is often described on the BSF is a different rider to the one i see in Denmark(but then so is Henrik Møller ).He in the past couple of years at least isn't just a gating tart.He has had some really great battles.Pretty unlucky not to be in the GPs as well.Although it is possibly too early for him at the mo. And Brian has really impressed me. Have to say Esbjerg had almost replaced Holsted as my favourite team last year. They kept a fairly constant side rather than chopping and changing and young Johannes Kikkenborg also impressed me just as Krister did
