  1. The second Bundesliga meeting in Diedenbergen this weekend is also Cancelled, due to the weather. That means it is off, rabs
  2. Something more to this discussion about different classes of machine. News in one of the papers that a young German lad has decided to further his career on the 80cc scene in Denmark and Poland as Germany no longer have an 80cc class. He has signed for Holsted in Germany and will also be riding in Poland. With help from family and sponsors they have also made a small track for him at his German club,Ludwigslust. But he only trains alone there. Dominik Möser
  3. Anything can happen of course, but Denmark have a couple of great kids coming along for this year.Still hope this test match come off.But in the big scheme of things it doesn't really matter if the Oz kids don't finish on top. They will surely have a great time and learn a lot and make some good friends and rivals.Just look at Jurica Pavlic. He rode in the 80cc World Championship and didn't do terribly well. But he is probably the best rider from that tournament now on 500cc bikes.I am certainly looking forward to seeing the youngsters from Oz take on the rest

Wasn't a great meeting, but there were a few good heats. As predicted Jurica Pavlic was the rider of the meeting.Featured in a great heat with Klaus Jakobsen and Sönke Petersen. As it seemed in every heat Jakobsen made a great start, but Jurica and Sönke were right behind him all the way.Never much between them but Jurica eventually passed Klaus on the last lap. That was the only time he was really troubled. The big meet with Kevin Wölbert and Patrick Hougaard was a bit of a let down.Jurica made a great gate and was never troubled, but then neither was Kevin in second place.Think the heat was the fastest of the afternoon as well.Another great heat from Erik Pudel who was outgated by Jakobsen but stalked him for 3 laps before taking him.Unfortunately it was just as i thought though.Jurica had little support.Maxime mazeau had a few good battles with the Croatians.Heat 10 especially a good race at the back with Pigac, which the announcer greeted with "Who said the French can't ride speedway?".The meeting was won and lost on Peter Juul's two e.f's at the gate.It was always hard for the Danes to stay in,even with Patrick Hougaard getting a tactical ride.Germany dropped two points when Frank Fachers bike packed up while in easy second place. Good to see two World Champs in attendance.Egon Müller and Erik Gundersen,in his official capacity as Junior Trainer Att: 678(paying,although i think they said 800 in all) photos
  5. Looks like the league is down to just 5 teams this year.Togliatti,SK Turbina Balakovo,Vladivostok,Salavat and Chervonograd(Ukraine)which is near to the Polish border and a fair trek from Vladivostok!!! Russian fixtures
  6. There is an interview with Nikolai Krasnikov on his return to Ufa.Ihave translated a bit with the aid of babelfish "Everything went well and success was on our side.I share the victory with my trainer Vladimir Belogonov and my father Oleg. This is my team.We depend equally on each other. With us,nobody made a large contribution and someone else a smaller contribution.Vladimir is trainer and looks after the engine and my father takes care of the rest of the bike.To be successful you have to have faith in your team. And i have faith in my team.I never doubted that we couldn't win the 4th title. I would also like to thank my sponsors and fans from Russia, even from Ufa who travelled to support me.It is great when you travel to another country and see support from Russia. But the foreign fans are also good to the Russian racers. It is unimportant if you are from Austria,Finland or Russia. If the rider gives his best,he will get support from the foreign fans. The first day in Berlin we had problems with new electrical system on the bike. But on the second day everything worked according to plan." Then there is an interesting bit about this new "Ignition system" from trainer Belogonov, which seems to say that the FIM make rules up on the spot.Surely not!!!! And a lot of riders were caught out with the ignition not working such as Drozdov and Bauer.I just use babelfish for this rather than trying to put it in better english "The imperfection of the construction of new system and the groundlessness of requirements FIM about its required application let itself be known in Berlin entirely. We talked with the Director-General of plant "Java" and laid out to it all these claims. It also agreed, it is said, 50 years drove, and not had whom problems whatever, the previous system of the emergency disconnection of ignition in the case of a drop in the racers never gave failure. Cost to introduce this innovation - in all they they appeared. We explained the situation of technical commission. But she stood on her: once FIM made a decision, it is necessary it to carry out ". Then Nicolai talks about the GP system and the Russian final "It is hard in the Russian final. You have to finsih in top 8 to progress. It is very hard. Not everyone, even good riders can make it through. But in the GP it is better. You can enter every meeting with a cool head. The main thing is to pass when possible, but to stay in one peice for the next day.A multi-stage competition better shows the athletes skill, preparations and mental ability. And then he says that it has never been a thought of his about breaking records set by others such as Tarabanko or Kadyrov http://www.bashinform.ru/index.php?id=62885
  7. Yes.But there will be a track inspection this morning at 10:00. Seems news on the net suggests the meeting has been postponed until tomorrow
  8. Should have put it in bigger letters, maybe
  9. Well it is almost like Ice racing out there at the moment Malmö
  10. Good pics.I particularly like the rostrum shot with the smoke. Fingers crossed for saturday. We will need to dress warm though as it looks like snow
  11. I agree with you Steve.Must say i am a bit sceptical with Wal Morton and his 3 "open" clubs in 1950.He was promoter/rider in Dublin, which i think rightly should be discounted as it is a foreign country.Count that and why not count all the Swedish/Polish/German clubs that other have ridden for.But did he have a contract with Motherwell for their meetings or were they just riding with whoever was available at the time?I mean take for example this nomadic Wimbledon that ride a few challenge meetings now.Would you consider those riders as Wimbledon riders, even though they have a proper contract with another club at the same level?
  12. A few videos from saturday with all the finals(though the A+D are the only ones worth watching)plus a few other heats.Hopefully vids from sunday will be on soon Berlin vids
  13. But surely Chapelizod was in another country? So if you use clubs from other countries riders like Mark Loram would have a few to add to his list
  14. A big pairs meeting has been announced for Herning.Top riders like Nicki Pedersen,GP rider Niels Kristian Iversen and Seb Ulamek plus Jesper B.Jensen will be paired with riders from the Danish U21 squad as a season opener on the 18th April Herning
  15. Just seen that vandals have caused €5,000 worth of damage to the stadium.Just mindlessly thrown drawers and speedway cups all over the place.Even thrown flowers on the floor and smashed the vase. All the doors in the stadium have been broken and the tractor damaged But the meeting is still on and the track is in good condition.Lets hope the weather stays fine for the club, who have suffered a few set-backs in the last few years with the weather Güstrow vandalism
  16. I am the photographer who has to use card and rubber bands don't forget I wonder if the meetings will be on the net. This site has links to sport from Swedish Canal+ i think Sport on the net Or maybe the Polish site that gives links to speedway?
  17. Ah,i know who i can ask to send me some copied dvd's then
  18. Not surprising that the topic of Russia came up quite a bit at the Ice Racing GP in Berlin this weekend. One well known journalist said "never again".He told a story about a group getting stopped by police and the policeman rolled up a bit of paper, told the driver of the car to blow in it and then said he had failed "an alcohol test" and had to pay a fine. There was also an item in the Bahnsport mag about a group of riders getting stopped at the border and told the vehicle they were driving was against the law as it had 10 seats. They had to spend 9 hours at the border taking out 2 of the seats and "negotiating" so they could travel on. Another told of the mistake of saying he was a journalist and having most of his equipment confiscated Travel with a tour group would be the best bet, rather than alone
  19. Nice pics Conkers. You might strike lucky with the one of Franky and the young lady with her face painted. She has already been in contact with me for a photo. She has asked for a photo of me as well though!!!!
  20. Seems there was a meeting in Berlin this weekend with representatives from Denmark,Sweden,Germany,Czech Republic and even the US(not sure if anyone from Britain was there )to try and find a solution to the problem of so many different types of bike for the youths.Erik Gundersen, the Danish representative said the Danes think the 250cc bikes are to powerful for their junior tracks. There has at least been a group set up to look further for solutions. More info here(although in German Youth speedway
  21. Was a great weeknd of racing. The weather was fine saturday, but wet on sunday.Could have been worse though.I am just surprised at the crowd figures given.3,900 saturday and 4,500 on sunday!!!! I thought sundays attendance was lower than saturdays.I would even say i haven't seen it so empty on a sunday.Had no problems moving around and finding a spot, whereas normally you really have to fight to get around
  22. Hehe Of course i saw Joonas on the list. And would love him to go through unbeaten.Just not convinced his form in Germany is as good as Walasek and Karlsson or Smoli. But fingers crossed for a Brokstedt win Yes they will just add riders as they go along. If one of the others isn't available they will sign someone else for a meeting or two.Like i mentioned before it might be that we see Lindbäck here this year
