  1. I'm just going by the list i saw when they looked for my name.Just happened that my name was on the same list as the MotorBladet guys, and there seemed quite a few I#d guess they were the regular speedway guys and those blokes with the bloody big lenses were from the papers
  2. I can't answer with any real authority as i have never looked. But there is no specifically speedway related mag such as the Speedway Star nor even Speedwaysanomat. All i can say is that all the Danish photographers at the Danish GP seemed to be working for the DMU's magazine,MotorBladet. This isn't just speedway, but MotorX and other motorcycle sports in Denmark.I have never seen it on sale at a meeting MotorBladet Maybe one of the Danish guys or girls knows of something else. But Denmark isn't really like Britain. The scene is quite small really. Not a lot of souvenirs. The programmes are basic(scorecard and adverts.......lots of adverts! ).And you just have to look at the websites. Not a lot of info to be found from most clubs.Holsted being the exception and the Danish Speedway League site is also super
  3. Why are the two Germans missing?Do they have a Longtrack meeting on saturday?
  4. It is terrible really for youngsters, not only in Sweden, but almost everywhere.Sweden is one of the countries we think of having a good youth system. But one wonders why we now have so few quality riders. Is it because there are so few riders to choose from? But the pool of riders will always shrink if you are always giving places up to riders who ride in 3,4 or 5 leagues.Chicken and Egg situation in a way.
  5. It is striking looking through the line-ups how few Swedes are in each team.1,2 or if you are lucky 3 riders And given the performances of some of the foreign riders one wonders if it is good for the future of our sport that most leagues are filled with foreign riders
  6. Future World Champ so many on here have said. Then again i think someone named 3 future Polish World Champs. Can't remember who they were apart from Hampel
  7. 8. Good luck to Nicolai with his new team, and good luck naturally to Smederna
  9. Result from yesterdays U21(north)quali,Teterow.taken from inspeed.de Wölbert 15 Pudel 14 Deddens 13 Petersen 12 Wienke 11 Brosowski 10 Baumann 8 Huckenbeck 8 Ledwig 6 Krecklow 4 Stanek 4 Kalms 4 Koonstra 4 Malyschew 3 Dinklage 2 Riemer 1 Maaßen 1
  10. Good result from young Simon Nielsen from Denmark to finish 2nd ahead of Peter Juul Larsen and Simon Lambert. The 2 Danish females scored 4 points and young Brit Monty Jowett was also in there getting some experience. 1.P.Pawlicki(PL) 2.S.Nielsen(DK) 3.P.J.Larsen(DK) 4.S.Lambert(GB) Full results here
  11. Well Tomicek was a hairs breadth away,so there is hope
  12. And of course Rory Schlein oops forgot the tongue in cheek one
  13. Yep.Same girl that was in Gelsenkirchen. Like garf and Ghostwalker said,Kenneth was the best choice for wildcard. He was impressive. Was expecting 20 pages or more, but i guess most people only post if the track is crap and they have something to moan about.Bet there would have been page after page moaning about how the wildcard choice was wrong if Bjerre had only scored 2 or 3 points.None of the doubters post saying how well he did though .Was good to see Gollob win,but Nicki was celebrating second place and Jason was pretty pleased just to make the final. There just isn't anyone who is going to put Nicki under pressure this year, sadly.Tbh,i didn't even notice Bomber. Great atmosphere and Gollobs win was cheered loudly,as he was when introduced at the parade. Bloody long journey there and back on the bike.Shoud have definitely spent a bit extra and gone the ferry route
  14. And the line-u for Brokstedts 25 year meeting. L.Kasperek(PL) M.Kröger(D) T.Bajerski(PL) B.Lyngsö(DK) H.Bager(DK) S.Petersen(D) N.Klingberg(S) S.Katt(D) L.Lindgren(S) S.Walker(GB) P.J.Larsen(DK) C.Gjedde(DK) Not a bad line-up if they all turn up.Pity Tobi + Nicolai are missing out of the home riders though. Brokstedt 25 year Jubilee
  15. Not sure how you consider asking a question on a riders career getting "carried away" to any extent They were just a couple of riders that came to mind and i ain't certain how long their careers have been. But it looks possible they could have been quite long.Plus i did initially think of Gerd Riss, who seems to have been around for ages. But he only started in 1982.So i didn't get carried away at all on that one And now you have reminded me i can strike Tomicek,Svab,Stancl and Dryml off my list And on surnames.I came across a young lad riding in the Polish Junior league with the surname Woryna. Now maybe it is a common name, but i did wonder if he is related to ex World Finalist Antoni
  16. Just spoken to Torben Hansen from Skaerbaek and the plan looks like this Wed:Free training(15:30) Thurs:3 quali meetings, starting at 12:00 Frid:2 semis(15:30+18:30) Sat:Final(14:00)but there will be a parade through the town at 10:30 with all the riders plus a few stars like Erik Gundersen,Hans Nielsen,Puk + Hans Andersen. Sun-Fredericia will be the team championship Let's bring it on
  17. A couple that come to mind are Korneev of Russia who rode in the 70s(maybe he started in the 60s?) in the World Team Cup for instance and was still riding this winter(albeit on Ice)in the Russian Championships.Plus the ex Soviet, now Ukrainian rider Trofimov. He was riding back in the 80s,but was he also in the 70s?Was last year(maybe still is this season)riding for SC Trofimov from Rovno
  18. Jim was apparently relegated to the Wimbledon second half in 73 by Cyril Maidment, but i guess took umbrage at that and never appeared.Guess he must have signed for Newport a week or so into the season?
  19. Oh yes.Even though i had the match on i didn't think about that
  20. Must say, again the attendance figures seem to be of some concern. Not much more than some Danish Superliga figures. But at least the Danes are keeping the costs down with only one or two top riders per team
  21. Oh yes.Seems rather a shame Gregorij wants to be a Latvian. He could really help Russia become a force on the world scene again
  22. The Smithy's were lucky Gollob was suffering from pre-GPitis so the score stayed respectable.Beaten by Davidsson(twice)and Miskowiak!!!
  23. Line-up for this sundays re-arranged Bundesliga meeting in Neuenknick(although the weather is looking nasty again) Neuenknick News from the new track in Biesenthal, near Berlin. The track has been prepared on the lines of American track Costa Mesa.It is 200m long and will be named in honour of Simon Wigg,"The Wiggodrom". Biesenthal Line-up so far Speedevent
  24. I thought you had to scrap the Palace bit? Whatever, sounds like another great read. How much is the p&p to Germany?
