  1. Not sure about Seb.It seems Morten was injured in a crash with Hefenbrock. He rode in one heat afterwards then pulled out of the meeting.
  2. The meeting is online. Not bad coverage.Lacks a bit of emotion, but from the little i have seen so does the racing. But coverage all the same, which is very rare from a German meeting German Open
  3. Not sure what you mean by the first bit.Guess you meant some other nation I was also a little surprised that Andrew Tully wasn't in as replacement. He didn't look bad last week in Germany. But we can all be clever afterwards.I totally agree with the last bit though. It is like i said last week. How do the youngsters get meetings on other tracks when the demand for their services especially in the PL(and then maybe double-down in CL as well)means they rarely have a free weekend. Good to see Ricky Ashworth in Krsko yesterday.Plus i see that Lambert,Hopwood and Wrathall(guessing they are all Brits) are in Poland in a weeks time.Probably due to the promoter and Mr MSJ rather than any British initiative though And i will also repeat myself on the Aussies They also get next to no support.I remember the lads coming over for the Youth Gold Trophy all had the wrong helmets because of false info from the federation in Oz.But somehow, with no league speedway and the speedway they have is often alongside cars,so isn't the main thing on the programme(is it?)their riders are breaking through into the top.Wouldn't bet against them finishing second in this competition behind the Danes
  4. Pretty good performance. But doubt if that will be enough.I would guess Poland and Australia will go through from the other semi with more points considering the weak Slovenian side

  6. Yes,i thought Patrick was about to run over to Sundström when he got up off the track, but then had second thoughts. And like you said, just concentrated on doing his job.I'm sure it helped the Danes to have the experience of Stekkers and Erik Gundersen in the pits with them. And i think Danish Webmaster might have been giving a little bit of help as well Some photos here
  7. I do wonder if going to the PL so early is doing your boys any good f-s-p Speaking to Jari before the meeting he seems a bit low in confidence. And just look at Klaus Jakobsen as well.He should be up there challenging for one of the quali spots.Jari was on the pace and Niko wasn't bad,but Kalle after his PL experience should be doing better as well. But look at Dennis Andersson. He surprised me.I saw him alongside Kalle in the YGT 2 years ago and he did look good. But i didn't expect him to do as well as he did. Wasn't a very good meeting imo.Maybe Jacky saw it different. Not sure what heppend with Sundström and Hougaard.Looked to me like Linus was a bit too reckless after Patrick passed him(and there wasn't much passing going on after the first turn)and rode straight into him.Probably just came into the bend too fast and had nowhere to go.Patrick was pretty comfortable all evening. And home rider Kildemand was also impressive.Really was a gaters track.Jari said it was slick in training.Simon Nielsen(who was also in the YGT2 years back with Kalle and Dennis)was a big surprise for me as well.He was a rider i tipped for the future, but i thought he hadn't made that much progress of late.Didn't look good for Holsted the other week. But to finish above Jakobsen,Juul Larsen and Nørgaard,as well as beating Eklöf twice.....the boy done good Was a pity Gunnestad wasn't there.Solberg was well outclassed. Not sure how much experience he has,but looked a bit of a novice Heat 6 was about the best heat(i can remember).A very close race between Eklöf,Nilsson and Nørgaard.Apart from heat 5 which was cut short by Sundtsröm's kamikaze act But like i said before. No doubt if the meeting was in Sweden the result would have looked a lot different(apart from Hougaard finishing top).
  8. QUOTE (Robbie B @ Jun 7 2008, 12:36 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Has anyone got the second half details from the following 1976 Wimbledon home meetings. Many thanks for any help in advance. I have the other 2 meetings as well.If someone else doesn't post them i will later on
  9. Surely a deal will be done between all 4,so they all get $50,000?
  10. Maybe Stekkers plan will be for Denmark to go into the race-off.Britain may then be lucky and go straight through. There does seem to be an advantage in not going straight through. For Denmark both in terms of getting a better crowd for the race-off and getting important track practice
  11. I just wanted Stoa to tell me Anyway cu tomorrow. Hopefully Rasmus will be doing updates on speedwayzone.dk At least i thought he said there would be live updates from Fjelsted on his site
  12. Any of the Danish speakers on here going to explain what happened in Brovst last night? Problems getting a second ambulance to the track after the one there had to take Trasborg to hospital?
  13. Will Niels be back for the GP or will we see Tomicek again?
  14. Robert just needs to learn that some foreigners can understand english. When i got there i asked a friend of mine who was looking after the pits area how practice went.He told me there was a bit of trouble with riders trying to use two bikes.Which he told me wasn't allowed by the FIM! Apparently Robert was heard to say ####### Germans!
  15. I was recently talking to a rider who regularly rides against Jurica and he told me confidently he was along with Chris Holder the rider to watch out for in the future. He was saying how he is even starting to almost play with Zagar now.I did mention Sajfutdinov to him though
  16. It is a shame about the support.Peter Oakes i thought was going in the right direction by bringing a few youngsters over to Germany last year. But the Aussies don't seem to get any support either. In fact someone contacted me asking for details on behalf of Ksiezak, because they got no info from Australia. But the Aussies do seem to prosper despite that. But the trouble with continental experience is that how do most get it?The youngsters are so often needed at home at the weekend and if they missed a meeting you normally get all the moaners going on how they are missing a club meeting to ride in some tin-pot competition If you're lucky Kononov will be drawn at Rye The Russians certainly are coming
  17. That is a great honour Like you and others say, these rounds are never easy, even when some or most of the riders are unknown.I would guess on any other track in the world Baumann would have scored half of what he got last night. He has been riding that track for a very long time now, even given his young age.Probably any other night he wouldn't have got quite so many points.I have seen him quite a bit and never seen him ride so strong as yesterday
  18. If it wasn't for the two first heats when he had trouble he might have made it through. If he could of held off Robert Baumann in the one heat they would have both ended on 9 and Ben would have been in a run-off.He done well after a terrible start to battle away.It can't be easy mentally to have two e.f's and still keep on trying Fotos from the meeting
  19. Great meeting in Güstrow.Lots of passing.Really is the best race track in North Germany. Troy won fairly comfortably. He had to work a bit in heat 12 to come past Tully and Brzozowski but he was untroubled in his other heats. The two Brits were a bit unlucky. Not sure what happened to Ben in his first two heats.Seen on inspeed that he had two punctures! In his first heat he was in 3rd place when he pulled up.In his second heat he was having a great race,in 2nd and i thought he got squeezed out by Baumann in the corner and gave up,but maybe he did have trouble.Andrew(and don't worry he was draped in the Saltire and the announcer said "Tully is not just from Britain, but he is something special,he is from Scotland!)had a great first heat.Last out of the gate but he went round the outside and eventually finished in second. He was also second at the time he had trouble in heat 13. Of the others Robert Ksiezak impressed me.He had a great battle with Kamil.Robert lead, then was passed but never gave up and it was a real close thing on the line.I thought he got it,but wasn't in as good a position as the ref.But the real star of the show excitement wise was the Russian youngster,Kononov.Wow!!!!!!What a racer.Never made a gate all night, but he picked his way through the field one after another in nearly every heat.Just the fall in the crunch heat 14 spoilt his night. The Germans...well Tobi is the current German U21 champ and can ride the track well.Still it was a bit of a surprise he done so well. But he had his heats won from the first bend onwards.Baumann is a Güstrow rider so knows the track better than most.Probably the best result of his career so far i would guess.Battled away for his points,as did the youngest rider in the field Erik Pudel.Couldn't quite get it all together, but at 17 he has plenty of chances to go further.
  20. Live updates from Güstrow(Tully + Ksiezak)should be here from about 19:15 your time.Looking forward to this one.Although i think Troy should win fairly easily, the other places are not easy to predict.Apart from maybe the two French riders finishing last
  21. Why is Ludvig missing here, does anyone know? Was looking forward to seeing him again.Anyway will be interesting to see Dennis again.I remember how good he looked in the YGT at Skaerbaek a couple of years back
  22. The winner of any GP is the winner of that GP.Super or not.
