  1. Is the Crump/Gollob incident online anywhere?Unfortunately the livestream failed for me at this stage
  2. Has Gollob some problems with this guy or with the FIM/BSI/Olsen?It sounds from this, that he feels politics lie behind some of the decisions. He does appear to be one of the few that will say what he feels and isn't scared to complain about track conditions.Has he been in the Polish press criticizing the way the GPs are run or the referees? And will he get fed up with it all soon?
  3. QUOTE (Rob B @ Sep 27 2008, 11:17 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Pedersen will be a lot more relieved now. Ya don't say
  4. QUOTE (Rob B @ Sep 27 2008, 11:13 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Blame Ermolenko Why,was he Grumpy's mechanic?
  5. That Lindgren is a menace.Last year he wiped out Kenneth, now Nicki
  6. Ok then. How about 1977 when in Sweden he finished with the same amount of points as former World Champ and rider you mention as one too good to miss out on a World Final.Namely Anders Michanek, who was riding in his home country. And like you yourself now say "he certainly had the talent" and like you also say if he had applied himself......Well i put it to you that from the start of 1983 Egon certainly did apply himself to one aim..........winning that World Championship. And his whole year was based on that one aim.He applied himself and he won. That is the sign not of a lucky rider but a Champ. But that is the thing with speedway. Some riders can ride certain tracks far better than others.Would Freddie Williams have been World Champ if the finals hadn't have been at Wembley? But do we all say he doesn't deserve it?How many World titles would Peter Craven or Peter Collins have won if the final was held every year at Hyde Road?Or if in Gollobs time the one-off final had have been at Bydgoszcz? And anyway your judgment of the 1973 World Champ is also flawed. He might have been no more than a second division rider on British tracks. But then the World Final wasn't on a British track.Plus he was a World Champ in the pairs event even before that. And i have a preview of the 1973 season.Written before the season started where it makes a point of mentioning Jerzy as a dark horse. So someone in the know thought he was a bit better than a Div.2 rider
  7. A few years back at Parken in the Danish GP,not being used to seeing a lot of the riders i didn't instantly recognise a lot of them.Anyway i was watching the racing and was really impressed with one guy.Looked in the programme and it was Richardson. Not sure if i had seen him before.I had just heard all about him being a "gating tart" from this forum. So you can imagine my surprise that he was one of the more exciting riders in the meeting Maybe it is like trees says that they feel more confident on tracks away from England.I know from talking to someone who was at the Esbjerg v Holsted meeting last week, that Nicki and Kenneth had some very good races together
  8. Mmmmm should we take the opinion of multi World Champions like Ivan Mauger and Barry Briggs or the opinion of Jeff Difficult one that, but i think Briggo and Ivan have a far better idea of how good or bad the 1983 champ is at speedway.
  9. And if it had of been a boy Graham wanted to call him Spike I'll get me coat
  10. Seems that the Danish GP is safe at Parken until at least 2013 Parken
  11. Glad to see that. Sometimes i wonder with this forum.Keep reading in Wolves threads that if Nicolai makes the gate he is good, but can't do anything if he doesn't.That just doesn't describe the rider i see in Denmark.Just the same as when people call Kenneth Bjerre a gating tart!Maybe these guys just don't ride English tracks the way they ride in Scandinavia?
  12. Yes.This is really old news.I did post this over a month ago.Poland and Sweden are a bit behind Germany GP Revolution
  13. Er,is it the same people?"This forum" Do we all have the same opinion apart from you?We all speak as one?. Isn't it what a forum is about? Some want one thing, some want something different. There are always some people who will moan about a change, but there are maybe 6 people so far out of uckknows.......5 or 6,000. You're getting as bad as Bryn, moaning about the moaners
  14. Are you doing a big dole money or passport fiddle Kev?
  15. No,not a massacre. But if you look at the opposition and then if i am right one of the best riders(Castagna)has retired from international meetings then it wouldn't entice me to go further than my local track to see Italy against anyone. And i'd only go to my local track if the price was right. Not if they upped to entrance price because it was part of some World Cup
  16. Have to say Batchelor was a big disappointment. And like i said a lot would depend how Risager went.Well he didn't Denmark lost it with the injury to Kildemand.Thought it was announced that the Doctor wouldn't let him take any further part in the meeting.Looked a terrible crash from where i was.Right by it.So was very surprised to see him come out for his last ride. Feel sorry for the Danish lads and Jan & Erik. But congratulations to Poland. They fought back when it seemed lost with that poor start.
  17. Well i did see the Croatian U19 side in Germany this year. But apart from Pavlic there wasn't much strength.Although one of their best riders apparently went home before the meeting in a strop and another good prospect is still too young to take part in international meetings. The same with France.I guess they could get 7 riders together, but after one or two Tresarrieu brothers there is no-one of any decent standard And as an example.Yesterdays meeting between Landshut & Lonigo AC Landshut: 56 1 Christian Hefenbrock (3,3,3,2,3) - 14 2 Sirg Schützbach (1,0,2,1) - 4 3 Richard Speiser (2,3,1,0,1) - 7 4 Manfred Betz (1,2,2,1) - 6 5 Herbert Rudolph (2,1,1,1) - 5 6 Hans Jörg Müller (2,2,3,3,2) 12 7 Frank Facher (1,1,3,1,2) - 8 8 Manfred Knappe MC Lonigo/ Italien 40 1 Alessandro Milanese (2,1,d,d) - 3 2 Andrea Baroni (0,0,1,2) - 3 3 Armando Castagna (3,3,d,3,3) - 12 4 Mattia Cavicchioli (0,0,2,2,0) - 4 5 Mattia Carpanese (3,2,3,3,1) - 12 6 Simone Tadiello (3,1,0,2,0) - 6 7 Alessandro Novello (0,0,0,0) - 0 8 Dennis Helfer Now obviously there might be a couple of Italians that could strengthen that side. But not to that great a level, because just look at the Landshut side.Hardly that strong with only Hefenbrock experienced at international level
  18. Spot on imo If anything the sport died,or the decline started with the death of Tommy Jansson a decade before 86.It tottered along for the rest of the 70s and early 80s.But like you say i thought it got (even if only for a short period)a new lease of life when the Dons dropped down and the likes of Russel Lanning came along
  19. Not sure replaced is quite the right word I mean he wasn't picked. But it was a surprise that Renè is in the team as i thought he wasn't announced in the original squad, which surprised me as he is one of my tips for the top.Great rider with a great style and very, very unlucky not to have been YGT Champ.I hope they all show what they can do.It will be tough against the Aussies.Morten will really have to be at his best for this one.And both Nicolai and Patrick could go through undefeated, but of course Batchelor and Holder could do the same. Bring it on!!!! Fingers crossed i don't have any bike trouble tomorrow
