  1. Not surprised you find Stan Boardman funny .But you can't really compare they way Superbart tried to be funny with you thinking it funny so many fans went over and spent lots of money for nothing. And that someone got smashed in the face was also funny. One of the biggest scandals in the sport for years with all those fans from around Europe and maybe further losing so much money and you think we should all be acting as if it is a big laugh? Subedei gets banned and we end up with you instead
  2. I guess one of the questions needed to be asked is why lay the track when the stuff was so wet? This has been asked on one of the German news websites. No answer given though. But from what i heard the offer of a super dryer was turned down because it weighed so much it would just damage the track in another way.So why not dry the stuff out before putting it down?Get the stuff out in the car park or a hall somewhere and dry it out bit by bit and then lay the track with dry stuff and not soaking wet gear
  3. I'll try and help you.... "Following adverse weather conditions last week and during the construction of the track at VELTINS-Arena, Gelsenkirchen, Germany, the FIM Jury has decided it is necessary to postpone the 2008 FIM German Speedway Grand Prix due to track safety concerns. The event will now take place on 18 October 2008, at ZKS Polonia Stadium, Bydgoszcz, Poland, at 1900h" See the German GP will now take place in Poland. No change of name or anything. No cancellation of the German GP and a completely new GP put on instead.Just a postponement and a change of venue.Just that this happens to be in another country.Although it was at one time part of Germany It wasn't us guvner. The Danes didn't put covers on the barge.Honest
  4. Just to update on this..... Leszek Tyllinger the Boss at Polonia Bydgoszcz was in Gelsenkirchen yesterday. And he has stated that the Wildcard next weekend will be Smolinski and the track reserves will be Kroner and Wölbert. That has given Tobi a bit of a problem as himself and Smoli were supposed to be riding in a meeting at Tobi's fathers track Dohren. That will probably be put back a week now. So carry on your discussion of who should be given the WC by all means
  5. So many differing stories so far.But that one is as you say pretty lame. But which one will they be telling in the morning?
  6. I didn't move outside of Hamburg. No wonder i ain't p'd off. That is a proper partnership.Getting the wife to do your tyres
  7. Surely you have more sense than KrisB,Steve?Or maybe not You ain't going to wind anyone up with this one.It is the German GP still, even if they couldn't or wouldn't hold it on a German track
  8. Let's face it,you sit for days on end putting spikes into tyres. You'll find anything interesting compared to that
  9. Too right. There will be a meeting in Olching tomorrow for instance. With all the money involved they could have payed off the riders due to appear there and had the meeting on that track, maybe?.If 8 or 10,000 turned up there it would be packed and probably been a better meeting than in Gelsenkirchen anyway. But then that would have clashed with the Polish league meetings. That is more than likely why they didn't have a plan to run the meeting on sunday like they normally do
  10. You are probably wasting your time debating with these people It is a meeting that has been postponed and moved to Poland. The original wildcard and track reserves ride next week.Is that too hard to understand?
  11. Yes and i heard at least one of the staff had his nose broken by a disgruntled fan.I can understand fans being well p'd off.But the stadium staff by the doors have nothing to do with it all
  12. But hasn't all the speedway in Malaysia gone down the swanney? No meetings this year after the government pulled out of funding the sport?
  13. I think he/she is refering to the BSI/Organisers rather than fans.Reading the bit after.I had to look twice though
  14. I think you are over-exagerating it by saying some I'd reckon, just you
  15. Why the last bit?I mean if the stuff was soaked on its way to Germany from Denmark what have the Germans to do with it?Olsen organises all that surely. And so your suggestion is get the money off BSI and then they get off the hook by getting the money off of the promoter? Anyway,it seems that they were looking for out,at least from Gelsenkirchen,so a ban is hardly likely to bother anyone.Plus other organisers could theoretically come along. Not likely after this scandal though
  16. Just talked to Conkers and he told me the track was terrible, even though it doesn't quite come over on his photos.Like a "semolina pudding" he described it.Soft, but when you stand on it ,it goes hard.So no-one was happy with the track
  17. Just wait in a few weeks or months time when we get a thread started about "Why the sport isn't bigger?"or "Why the media don't give us more attention?"
  18. From what i have heard they had sold 11,500 tickets. So not a big late surge from the 10,000 reported before
  19. Don't think it could be the "over night" theory,as the track was crap yesterday anyway
  20. Amateur hour Really feel for those thatb travelled over.Just spoke to Conkers and he sounds a bit peeved to say the least
