  1. Ok then.Speedway and MX1.But that is it.It could only happen in those.Nothing else Andy Kaufman
  2. Don't know anything about this thing. But,it was mentioned before that even the tractors were cutting the track up a bit.And the organisers were offered a machine that would dry the track out.The thing was it was just too heavy and would damage the track just as much as the moisture content was playing havoc with it.The stuff should have been dried out before being put down.Once it was down i don't think there was an awful lot that could have been done.
  3. I think though this harks back to a point i made a few days back.Where is the webiste or newspaper motorcycle or general that is asking searching questions in Britain?Ole has been asked questions. But by Danish journalists and in the Danish language. We are imo let down by having no particular independant online website that looks for answers. The German online site,Motorsport Aktuell is very good and the Danish site Ekstrabladet kept coming up with critical items. Not that you were likely to get to the bottom of it all even if there was such a site or magazine. And anyway, most people already have an opinion of Olsen and nothing short of him coming out and saying "It was all done on purpose to stop us losing a bundle"is likely to change that
  4. I thought Ole had stated that ultimately he is responsible and although none of it was his fault(the germans did it)he would go if he got payed off and they found a person who could do his job better But you don't get to be a mulitple World Champ by lacking confidence.I am sure he thinks he is the best guy for the job of taking the GPs onwards and upwards into the future
  5. Not sure what sort of weather they was expecting. But for this time of year in Germany the weather was pretty good
  6. I thought the Oz GP was a goner Someone posted somewhere that the decision was made last weekend.Plus i did see the news from Hans Andersen that he and the other riders wanted enough money to cover all the costs, which they didn't think was likely
  7. Someone from the back of the baying crowd shouts........."He is a good man" ©Schumi
  8. Just to answer one of the things coming up on this thread about no more temporary tracks in non speedway stadiums. Taken from the Holsted website.Olsen talking to Dan Philipsen "Får det dig til at overveje at droppe endagsbanerne?" Will this see the end of temp tracks? Olsen: "Nej. Sporten vokser mere og mere i disse år, og jeg tror omvendt, at vi kommer til at se flere af disse løb på endagsbaner på store stadions." No.I think quite the opposite. We will see more and more events on temporary tracks in big stadiums Holsted
  9. Line up for the meeting on saturday in Dohren Team Germany K.Wölbert S.Petersen T.Kroner J.Tebbe Team Denmark A.Andersen P.Juul Larsen R.Bach J.Kristiansen Team Poland K.Zabik M.Sekula D.Pytel M.Jablonski Team Netherlands T.Sörensen(DK) H.Bos D.fabriek M.Stiekema Also seems like Ludwigslust will hold a meeting this year.On the 1st November a pairs meeting between Germany,Poland and Denmark
  10. A tv report on the twins.I think from Nordhastedt on the day the German GP was called off Grosser twins
  11. I don't think Polonia Bydgoszcz give one about that meeting. So why would they make a statement about it?
  12. I think they have decided not to call it the German GP.I noticed yesterday that sportowefakty changed their headline from German GP in Bydgoszcz to GP in Bydgoszcz or something. Also the two German reserves have dropped out.Next saturday is a meeting at Tobi Kroners fathers track. They have decided not to postpone that.So Tobi rides and Kevin Wölbert will also ride instead of Smoli. The track reserves in Bydgoszcz will now be Janowski and Zengota. How long until Smoli also drops out to be replaced by Sajfutdinov?
  13. There are some strange things going on in those woods.
  14. Looks like the meeting won't be called the German GP now .So good luck with your search
  15. Yes.Attendance was 2500. But that isn't so great. The big open meetings at Güstrow and Teterow get somewhere between 5-8,000.Both on the same weekend along with the Grasstrack meeting on the Teterow Bergring. So on the same weekend you should get 2 grasstrack meetings(although the first day is just quali heats)in the afternoon and two speedway meetings at night.Güstrow is just about 30 minutes away from Teterow.Worth a look.Although it is a big hilly grasstrack, unlike anything we have,so the riders go off into the woods and you lose sight of them a fair bit,if you are by the beer stands
  16. "It can sometimes take a decade of preparation to fly a rocket to the moon. And still sometimes one doesn't leave the launch pad".That is Ole's answer to journalists at the weekend."Taking refuge in sarcasm" as one German paper stated. So basically the same line as "The Know" really......sh#t happens is Olsens explanation Rocket science
  17. #cough# #cough# The World And Crumpies arm isn't hiding "The rest"
We spontaneously offered BSI the chance for an extra week without extra cost,so the highlight of the speedway season could be held next weekend at the Veltins Arena.Because Schalke are playing away in Hamburg next weekend the stadium is available. But the FIM turned down the offer. It says below that the speedway experts couldn't guarantee that the track would be dry by next weekend!!!!!!For ######## what state was the stuff in when they put it down that it might take longer than two weeks to dry out??????
  19. Some people have already seen the programmes they have printed up for next weekends GP
  20. Like your thinking The thing that strikes me about all this is a complete lack of an english language speedway or even motorbike related website with journalists that will question anything. All the info i have seen where things are being questioned and some answers being given are German & Danish.Maybe Swedish and Polish also.I have heard that Peter Nahlin has been very critical of events.I have seen a report where Olsen has slagged off Nicki for critcizing the state of the track. But where are the english language sites?Any newpaper sites or anything where jouros are trying to get answers, because i doubt Speedway Star will do it for us? And here is some more from the Arena management who offered BSI/IMG a rent free week so they could hold the event there next weekend and get the stuff dried out in time Veltins

  22. You come on these threads with a why is everyone so miserable?,let's be twats and laugh at stuff attitude.People have lost a lot of money and this is a pretty big cöck up i would say.Probably not the right thread for Stan Boardman fans. But at least it is comforting to know that if you happen to get your face pulverised we can have a laugh about it.I know i will
