And now Norway are trying to get a big meeting together with possible tv coverage! Oslo

I think f-s-p has the answer to this one.I am sure he told me a few weeks back he had met or traced Kai
-
Clear win for Ufa today with Krasnikov in great form again.Just a fall stopping a max.Togliatti in a bit of trouble though.Only using Ivan Ivanov and Vitali Khomitsevitch, who weren't really on top form

Is All Not Sweetness And Light In Russia
iris123 replied to Bryn's topic in International World of Speedway
And it looks like the Ukranians want their own league with 5 teams(3 from Rovno). So maybe there won't be a Ukranian team in the Russian league next year rough translation -
And particularly at Plough Lane,so he told me himself

Sweden's Elite League - Only 9 Teams!
iris123 replied to oldtimewolf's topic in International World of Speedway
Correct me if i am wrong, but some tracks do have teams in a couple of leagues,so there are more meetings than might first meet the eye.Even if there isn't an Elitserien meeting fans probably have another meeting at their local track. And of course this sort of thing has been going on in Poland as well in the 1st or 2nd league from memory.Probably the 2nd -
Why stop at women.I have yet to see a Czech rider of any gender that has become World Champ.Norwegians!?!Why do they bother? How many French riders have been WC?
-
So i guess Sven Holstein's sister isn't going to be doing any more Ice Speedway???
-
Is the season looking so bad that the riders taking part in a training camp are worthy of news You have been taking tips from f-s-p,Jacky!! We normally get exclusive news when any Finnish rider gets a belly ache
-
Think there have been a number of similar threads over the past few years. One young lady was in a couple of teams over the past 4 or 5 years.Jessica Lamb wasn't it?. Also in Denmark Nanna Jörgensen(foto) is in the Vojens team in the 1st Division. Not the top league. And there are a few more in Denmark in 500cc and 80cc teams In the gradings for next years Danish Superliga it looks like there might be 4 females in the "D" grade. That of course doesn't mean they will get a meeting. But alongside Nanna is Stefanie Jensen who i have also seen. Then it looks like Cebine Randrup and Amalie Hermansen might be female, but i am not sure on that!!! DSL gradings

Ex-World Finalist Josef "Wack"Hofmeister went into competetive flying after his speedway career and was 3 times German Champ German Championship

Come on Dave. How can you compare Arthur to Leigh??????This kid is exciting to watch
-
So have they changed the format? Why only 6 teams when there are normally 7.And if there are 7,who are the 7th team?I would guess Austria. But on speedway.org they have CZ missing and GB in Team WM

Give That Man A Medal
iris123 replied to barrow boy's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Yes,but the decider for the title would have been at Bydgoszcz.A track that already held a GP and obviously favours one particular rider. You think that wouldn't have been a scandal? -

iris123 replied to barrow boy's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Crap idea. And this years title would have been a real scandal if 2 GPs at Bydgo had decided the champ -
Mmmmmm.... And is it true England will have a team in the Team Championships in Inzell?
-
Seems from DF that Flims lost their big sponsor for the meeting and it is too late to try and find a new one.And to run the meeting without a sponsor would put the club in big financial trouble
-
Sam Ermolenko could be a possibile from a Russian jewish family. But then i think his name isn't Sam is it?Really, not sure why it is of any real interest though.Do we want a thread on catholic riders? But if people find it interesting, why not?
-
One of the best sites for speedway history Puma's site Seems to show that there were a couple of tracks there in 1936
-
Well with the snow due to arrive in Hamburg today it should be all systems go for the winter.Unfortunately it seems from inspeed that Flims has been cancelled.Nothing on their website as far as i can see.But the post on inspeed is signed by "DF",who i guess is the Flims President,Dirk Fricke. So bad news again

Is All Not Sweetness And Light In Russia
iris123 replied to Bryn's topic in International World of Speedway
It never was all sweetness and light.A few on here have been saying that since all the hype started about Russia. There have only been 2 or 3 clubs that can really afford the top stars. And because of that they don't need them every meeting anyway. You don't want to believe everything that is posted or written in the Star or even from promoters.I think it was Berwiicks promoter last year who said he was finding it hard to attract young continental riders because they would be riding in Russia. Now who are these great young Czechs(i seem to remember Cz riders mentioned)and others who are riding in the Russian league? -
Who is he then Brian?Never heard of him.Are Eastbourne still in the EL then or dropping down?

Preview For The Swedish 2009 Season.
iris123 replied to Ghostwalker's topic in International World of Speedway
Probably a stupid question, but if the fixtures have been released....why are you putting them together?Surely they have been put together already on the Dackarna site and as usual speedway.nu + maybe Svemo. -
