  1. Posa won't be in Berlin!!! Seems he broke a finger yesterday....plus he failed(?) a doping test in Inzell. He is taking medicine for lowering his blood pressure and the FIM say he didn't inform them until too late....i.e at the doping control! But Franky,Tuinstra and Harald Simon are all there.Flyktmann rides in place of Serenius Posa out
  2. As Michael Stipes sang...."i just don't get it" Why is it always necessary to go down to the last heat or meeting? It is nice if it happens...but will F1 change the rules to re-adjust points to make it more likely that a great driver doesn't run away with the title?Or should the LTA change the rules and adjust the points so that Wimbledon goes to the last serve of 5 sets always?I think the sport has enough problems without buggering around with the scores yet again.Let's bugger around with the tracks...please,so they are suitable for good racing and overtaking without looking like someone will be badly injued in most heats. edited for spelling
  3. Seems fairly certain i think. Was something on sportowefakty this week about a Russian GP
  4. Inzell is also i think only provisional. There will be a new roof put on the stadium and it isn't 100% sure that it will be finished in time.....i think that is what was said when i was there.....the bavarian accent is blooming difficult to understand
  5. I was at quite a few great tests.England v Poland at Hackney back in 74(?) when England won every heat 5-1 apart from the last heat when i think Wilson was excluded!A long time since England could do that to Poland.More chance now that they would do that to us.England v Denmark at Oxford when Nielsen was reserve. And England v USA at Plough Lane....The only test meetings i have seen in the last 20 years or so though are the Denmark v Sweden U21 tests and even they seem to be a thing of the past now....
  6. Absolutely. Most of the top countries have a tried and tested format and a few fringe countries it seems are trying to force in a format that is unsuitable to the set up of the successful countries!!!!!unbelievable
  7. I heard he broke a foot in a motorbike accident
  8. But you could say that about for instance Tom Farndon...if it was a World Championship in those days and of course especially if it was held at New Cross being something of a one track pony,as someone who saw him in action hinted at recently....not that you would agree Norbold if........
  9. Well the 2010 80cc World Championship will be held at Vojens And last year i talked with a few people in the upper echelons of Danish speedway and they insist Denmark will stick with the formula that has proved so succesful in training up some of the top riders in the World.Czecho and Germany are or have been doing 250cc for a bit now and the success shows
  10. Not sure about that Jesper....after all Franky is big news and so far it hasn't made the two online news sites that are covering his season.....yesterday it was about Harald Simon hoping to make a comeback in Berlin. So i remain hopeful that Franky can continue with the rest of the GP season.Harald is pretty upset with Klabo and how he rides. H.Simon comeback
  11. Details of the new look Bundesliga: 22.3. Diedenbergen - Brokstedt 1.5. Brokstedt - Güstrow 21.5. Wolfslake - Diedenbergen 6.6. Landshut - Güstrow 4.7. Wolfslake – Brokstedt 25.7. Güstrow – Diedenbergen 25.7. Landshut –Wolfslake 2.8. Brokstedt – Landshut 21.8. Güstrow – Wolfslake 30.8. Diedenbergen – Landshut 3.10. Final*: Quali round winners – Quali round second place (*exeption being last years Champs Wolfslake for some strange reason won't be able to host the Final) A maximum of 2 foreign riders per team and one German U21 rider must be in the team Squads And at the same time as the Ice Speedway GP in Berlin(07.03)..the legendary and only German Speedway World Champion,Egon Müller will be hosting a birthday bash in the Kiel arena. This time it won't be run on the concrete floor that caused so many crashes in the past two years. It will be on a "proper" dirt surface....the full line-up hasn't been announced but Egon has Kevin Wölbert,Martin Smolinski and Matze Schultz so far.....and then there will be lot's of Oldies inc Jan.O.Pedersen,Brian Andersen,Finn Jensen,Graham Drury and Jerzy Szczakiel among others....
  12. It is a shame...but it is a long expensive journey for a youngster......which makes you wonder about the proposal to hold an U21 GP in Argentina for instance...... But the Russians usually have to travel to the rest of Europe....at least in dirt track speedway. And there was a youngster in the 80cc YGT in Denmark last season i think.....
  13. And in the Bundesliga there will be a Final. The top team after the quali meetings will ride at home against the second placed team for the Championship
  14. Germany 1 League,5 teams,5 riders....here are details
  15. Bet that was almost as good as sex, reading that.Just need to hear that BSI/IMG have gone bust to top it off and the neighbours will be wondering what is going on in your house Schadenfreude as they say in Germany
  16. Like i said,i think the only person who can beat Nikolai is himself.Lars said to me in Inzell he thought he would be challenged by a couple of the Russians.I just couldn't see it.Looks like he could have the title all but wrapped up in Berlin. The Russians seem to have chosen the best riders for Inzell, although vitali is coming on strong now.Danil is looking good for the future, but Ivan has been struggling. Can Franky get that silver medal or will it all go to pot?
  17. And on inspeed it says Tuinstra has broken his collarbone
  18. Nikolai wins his 3rd GP.Franky was last in the A-Final Ufa day 1 results
  19. In an ideal world, yes i agree Bavarian.Speedway isn't part of that world.I can see riders maybe not bothering to go to Argentina because of the costs.Especially if they are standing in 7th place with no chance of getting on the rostrum with 1 meeting to go.What real incentive do they have?Plus if someone has the titlein the bag after 2 meetings they might not bother also.We know that some of the Longtrack riders were not too keen to travel down to NZ for the GP there.I look at the young Australian kids who travel over to Europe for the YGT meetings every year with the utmost respect for the financial sacrifice their family make......
  20. While Franky is looking at a possible title chance his two compatriots are in a totally different situation.Harald Simon is having bike trouble.3 bikes playing up in Inzell and Krasnogork.Plus Markus Skabraut is riding on Aakko's reserve bike!!!!! in Russia. He hasn't taken his equipment or transporter to Russia due to the costs. And it seems very likely he will give up Ice Racing after this season. He is finding it hard to get time off work and in the summer starts to build a house Austrian news
  21. Get in there Super result for Franky and i guess Günther has to be pleased if he was recovering from illness. But tomorrow is another day.Surprised at Tschajka though
  22. I agree....seems a crazy idea.it isn't as if most of the youngsters are rolling in money to make such a trip.plus will it be in the middle of the season?as the argentinian season is when ours finishes.
  23. Günther no-mates,as conkers has christened him flies out to Moscow on his way to the pre-GP practice tomorrow in Krasnogork having been ill with the flu this week.He says his aim is to finish in the top 8 and after his performance in Inzell he is optimistic.....will be interesting to see if Franky and Bauer can scare a few of the top Russians.I still as for the last few years can't see past Krasnikov for yet another title. The odd exclusion or fall might make it tight for him though Bauer on his way to Russia And just seen this.......an ice speedway movie(or at least dvd) starring among others our very own Mark Uzzell in his GB race jacket Looks well worth a look. Not sure if we have had this here before with my memory Icy Riders
