Refere For Copenhagen Is
iris123 replied to Lis's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
You are just guessing......but what i have said is a fact.Nicki and Leigh have different mental approaches. That is why Nicki has won a few titles and why Leigh hasn't won any.Leigh even said himself one or 2 years ago he would have a more tougher approach......but it was just talk in the end.Like you say,he was unfairly excluded and done nowt -

There is a big difference between Leigh and Nicki in attitude. One is a mulitple World Champion and the other just doesn't have what it takes to win even a single title.I don't mean any disrespect to Leigh, but he just doesn't have the mental attitude for it.Nicki does. That might be why Nicki sat down with Ole and why Leigh just shrugs his shoulders? -

Maybe...... But it probably isn't clever to give any ref 2 GP meetings in a row, anyway Unless he already had a holiday in Scandinavia booked for this period -

I disagree...."open field" is probably a good description of some of the tracks this season -

"favours"????? Someone has to be in a position to listen to complaints from the riders.I think it only fair that in any job there is a system in place where such things can be calmly and impartially investigated.Someone has to have the job.And i guess that is Olsen. It isn't easy to find top officials from Argentina,Ecuador or Papua New Guinea in our sport. That is why i guess a British ref was in charge of the Team U21 meeting this weekend in Germany where GB were competing. And there were a number of complaints on the net that he was for instance letting the British rider back in after a first bend fall, but excluded an Australian rider for the same thing in another heat....... -

I am sure he listens to every complaint impartially I just hope the Swedish bloke takes note and doesn't make the same mistake as Mr Grodzki -

That is your opinion. But it shows the human side of Ole Olsen. He has obviously sat down with Nicki and listened to his complaint.......and i guess came to the conclusion Nicki,i and a lot of others did.Namely Grodzski was wrong..........well done Ole -

While i don't disagree with the idea.....who are the big 5 that will write this letter?Ok Gb is ok for airfenced tracks i guess,Poland as well and is Sweden now well fixed for them,i don't know? But apart from those countries Denmark only has Vojens with their padded fence.I don't know of any other track that has one there.Germany,Australia,Russia,Czecho........are there any tracks in these countries with an airfence?Like i said before,i would have thought the better option was for the FIM to get a couple of fences and supply them around to those tracks that are holding FIM meetings And just to add,as i think i said it before, but probably needs to be said again........i don't really see many promoters from GB and Sweden at least falling over themselves to host most of the FIM and UEM meetings each season???????Poland is maybe different. They do seem to host a number...... -

I think it would be too much to expect so many tracks to have an airfence needed to complete a full season of FIM and UEM meetings. But surely the FIm could have at least 2 airfences that could be transported to these tracks? You can be sure that in the countries well supplied with airfences there are not enough tracks /promoters that would want to host most of these meetings....The DMSB Vice President in the tv report is blaming "over enthusiastic" riders for the crashed. That is probably before Sönkes accident. He was saying the riders are riding with too much heart and not enough intelligence......but goes on to say the track isn't easy, but if it was down to the track then you would see crashes in all heats. They have 6 heats without incident, then a rider goes beyond his limits and there is another accident. The thing that has been noted by a lot of people who were there is the ref should have stopped the race before the accident with Sönke, but was very slow in putting on the red light. -

Very sad to read about Sönke.I have seen the lad progress since i have been here in Germany. He rides for my local team,Brokstedt.I wish him and his family all the best for the future.I know his father is quite old and not in the best of health himself, but has been a constant help to Sönke. -

I agree with you there Mark.A lot better than the stuff i have seen from the EL.Just a pity Nicki was robbed But having seen Emil for the first time live this week, there will be no stopping him for a few years i think...... -

Well it could be a right ol ding-dong battle....as i think Denmark have a crop of youngsters to match...... Having seen Alex Davies,Taylor Poole and Sam Masters,i agree they do look good.Along with Darcy Ward, yes they do look like they should make a good team in the future. But watch out for Michael Jepsen Jensen,Lasse Bjerre and then still on 80cc World Champ Mikkel Michelsen and his friend Mikkel B.Jensen.Both are very very good. And part Dane/part Aussie(well he is named after Crumpie),son of John Jörgensen,Jason. Here is a foto of jason in his Danish/Australian kevlars.Jason Joergensen. And maybe Brian Kargers son,Peter who has only been riding for about a year, but looks pretty good....... -

Sad to read that Holsteds Patrick Bjerregaard is out injured.I was only talking to Patricks father(and briefly to Patrick) at Vojens on friday. And Pats dad was saying he had 5 meetings this week in 7 days. But he was looking good in the no.5 spot for Holsted in the DSL.....speedy recovery

I think Bavarian is the best to say just what the track i s like. That is way out of my area. But i have heard the same as you.But my thinking is that Abensberg is a track that most ride only once a year.Whereas a track like Güstrow at least some of the Northern guys will ride there 3 or more times and maybe practice there fairly often as well. -

I was wondering that myself, unless it was GB I think Sweden look too strong in this meeting though. In fact i think there is one strong team and 3 teams with one or two good riders. If Germany click there is potential, but there are too many inconsistent riders.....and Australia and GB have one or two very good riders and a few question marks...... Tbh,and i have said this for a few years,i would rather see a meeting like this at Güstrow.Abensberg isn't much of a home advantage. At a place like Güstrow,Germany could really have some advantage i think
