  1. Yup.That is why i hope Stekkers gives Nicolai or Patrick a place.Won't do any harm. And might be better to go into the race off anyway if they don't manage to win in Vojens
  2. Stekkers has named the Danish squad.....no Gjedde. Nicki Pedersen, Bjarne Pedersen, Niels-Kristian Iversen, Kenneth Bjerre, Hans Andersen, Nicolai Klindt, Patrick Hougaard and Mads Korneliussen
  3. Think i would agree with that. Here is a German article covering his career in both sports.Arthur Sissis
  4. Well i have heard something....and it was weeks and weeks ago......and it wasn't from the media. There must be something doing the rounds(i wonder about the thread by garf for instance....) and the media have got to hear about it........but like you say, someone should put up or shut up.
  5. Most posters........don't have the job.I can't see 5 British riders better than Scott. Are there 2 riders better than Scott?I think it would be total madness to leave him out.I can't wait for all the posts about which 2 British riders should replace Scott and Chris in the GP's .................
  6. I think there are one, maybe a few rumours going round about Emil.I would like to think it is just based on total surprise(jealousy, perhaps?) at how talented the guy is.Some of the moves he is doing are amazing. He did though seem to have more power than most.Even when Crump beat him,i thought Emil looked faster but was just struggling to get the right line past Crump.I hope all these rumours are unfounded as he looks to be something special
  7. What about Mitch Shirra? He was certainly riding at the time Street was still going wasn't he?He started out "under age" i seem to remember and is still going now..... And Egon Müller also springs to mind as a possibility....... My thoughts on the subject as well.3 generations would be the Jansson family or the Tomicek family......
  8. Yer not wrong there........this GP wasn't good for the sports chances of attracting new fans though who wants to watch a sport being dominated by a ginger headed Australian??????
  9. I don't know how you could type such a thing...........i fell off me chair in utter shock that she didn't have a big moan about the whole GP/IMG/BSI/Olsen,etc,etc,etc
  10. Bit of a borefest though----if it wasn't for that red start girl i would have turned off long ago.....
  11. Well i found out where i saw the info......Stekkers and Gundersens,DMU plans for the future of Danish speedway......it mentions 03.08.2009 as the date unless i have mis-understood......or maybe it has been cancelled.......i am also trying to find out if the planned Holsted v Rest of the World meeting for a few weeks time is still on.....seems to have dropped off the Holsted calendar....!!! But here are the plans.....Danish speedway squads.....
  12. Thanks for that Ghostie.....hope for a good result from Dennis and Anders...... I thought i saw something about 1 or 2 Denmark v Sweden 80cc tests again this season........do you or maybe Anders have any info?I can't seem to find out where i saw it now............ Or was i day dreaming again?????
  13. Only if the were Ice speedway riders, surely????
  14. 1.Ronnie Moore(i will use mirac for Oz ) 2.Briggo 3.Tommy Jansson 4.Peter Collins 5.Nicki Pedersen 6.Gollob 7Kevin Wölbert
  15. But aren't riders generally happy with the GP tracks during practice?Apart from last years German GP that is!!!!It is during the meeting proper that the track plays up.But Parken is better than most.........let's hope Ole doesn't get the blame if AJ is too ill to ride tomorrow
  16. Yes.But if sports are "all Ireland" such as boxing then boxers from the north are included in Ireland team, rather than GB and NI.So that should exclude any riders from Norn Iron from being in the GB team
  17. Yes it is a bit childish now.I would have thought it was obvious from what i have said about riders and their jobs, that the same rules apply to refs as well I guess the thing is though is it a profession for the guys or a hobby?........bottom line again. It is a bit hard for professionals to have hobbyists making very important decisions(if that is the case,i don't know.Just making the point if it is).
  18. Well.....when you post it is becoming stranger W.G.Grace wasn't a speedway rider and this sport isn't cricket.....and even cricket isn't the cricket it was.......Mike Gatting et al.Why on earth if a rider thinks the ref has made a bad decision can he not ask for that decision to be re-examined?Or to ask for the refs competence to be examined if the rider thinks the guy has made a series of failures over a period of time? This is their livelyhood we are talking about, not a hobby. That is the bottom line.....
  19. Hmmm garf.....funny this topic should be brought up,as in Vojens a few weeks back on mentioning a certain young upstarts name i was startled to get a blunt reply back along the lines of this thread .....but i will say no more for fear of death
  20. I agree. That is one of the points i was trying to make
  21. Because i said they have different attitudes that makes one a World Champ and the other on the list of best riders never to win a world title.......then you go on to say how great Leigh is but doesn't have the attitude or mental strength to win a world title....... Everyone should have the chance to talk over grievances about their job.If more riders took Nicki's attitude then maybe the GP's would be better rather than just shrug their shoulders when the tracks are not up to scratch and refs might study the video footage and make an impartial judgment based on what happened.rather than judging an incident on which rider is involved or what they thought they saw...... But your last point is a good one........
  22. You can't believe i said it.....then go on to repeat my arguement what i said We are discussing the World title here....and no amount of league stats were or will ever be relevant......
  23. I remember that.My family had been to the south coast for the day and my dad came back via the old Connolly leather factory and the car got stuck in the flood water. We had to get out the car window and walk home
