  1. Don't forget though that you can watch the meeting live on the net and for a period of time after the meeting. You don't just have to follow "live updates"......Livestream details
  2. Like you say,to some people they can be.I just think a mod should move this into a more appropriate section. It seems more a "general" section rather than anything to do with "International speedway" ....or anything to do with speedway
  3. Is there any reason for the lower numbers? Were Oz offered less places or did fewer riders/parents want to travel?.The FIM have cut down on the numbers.Pretty sure last year Taylor Poole was seeded into the semi's and maybe the year before it was Sam Masters seeded direct into them???Would also seem that the 4tt after the YGT is no longer possible as Oz haven't enough riders.Which is a pity, that was a great meeting last year in Vejlby
  4. That is what i said.As well as the Jansson family....Joel,son Bosse(and of course Tommy)and Bo's son Jimmy(?)
  5. Wasn't Ron Johnson born in Scotland? Just checked and he did also represent Scotland......so could be worthy of a place near the top of the 20
  6. Great to see.I remember Toni as one of the early Polish riders in Britain. Are no riders seeded into the semi finals though?I thought normally there are about 3 seeded riders........

  8. Same as me....i was waiting, then thought well no-one is going to mention it,i had better
  9. I thought Eric Liddell was the bloke from Chariots of Fire.....can't say i have ever heard of him in speedway..... Seems a reasonable top 5 although i would have thought Ken would be at no.2.And of course Miller seems to be the Scottish Brian Crutcher .Someone who shot onto the scene and disappeared just as quickly...i would say it was debatable who was better, the Templetons or Bert Harkins.I guess i would say Doug, then Bert and then Willie......in the bubbling unders
  10. Expect the 2 Mikkels to feature prominently in this I wonder if the Woryna is any relation to Antoni of Poole fame back in the 70s?
  11. I'd love to see 1.Nicki 2.Emil 3.Kenneth 4.AJ
  12. Don't worry, she has beaten you to it.Plus the meeting will be on the website to watch for a period of time afterwards
  13. So which is it-?Does he deserve more support or has he got reasonable support? I am surprised there are 21 Scots worth mentioning No.I didn't see Miller and McKinlay was really well past his best before i took much notice of him.But he has to be up there.Alongside the Templeton brother who i was named after Jimmy Mac,George Hunter,Brian Collins,Kenny McKinna and do we have to mention Bertola??????Do we?
  14. Result from yesterdays German U21 semi,Teterow taken from inspeed.de 1.F.Riemer 13 2.D.Wienke13 3.M.Helfer12 4.S.Eckerle12 ------------------- 5.R.Deddens 11 6.S.Malyschew 9 7.D.Maaßen 9 8.D.Helfer 9 9.B.Dinklage 8 10.T.Brosowski 7 11.H.Koonstra(NL) 6 12.N.Hesse 4 13.K.Bünning 4 Was a good article online this week about the decline in numbers in the junior ranks.A few years back there was a series of qualifiers, especially in the north, but slowly the numbers have dwindled and first in the south they sruggled to get a full 16 rider field together. Now the same has happened up here(even have a Dutch rider boosting the numbers now!).A good win by young Riemer. Not sure this field has the quality of riders i was watching a few years back when Schultz,Hefenbrock,Kroner,Wölbert,Busch were all competing against each other, but according to the article the next wave of juniors is on the way through the school ranks Riders seeded into final based on placing in last years final 1.M.Dilger 2.K.Wölbert 3.T.Busch 4.K.Huckenbeck 5F.Facher 6.E.Pudel German Junior scene
  15. Nah,Anders.Don't worry.....my early speedway heroes were Olle Nygren,Ronnie Moore and Tommy Jansson........so Swedes played a big part in those early days.....no Brits(well Ronnie was riding for GB,but doesn't really count) or Danes Fotos from Vojens v Fjelsted
  16. No really, despite the score it wasn't a bad meeting. In fact it was a pretty good meeting.Vissing and Bach were the most exciting. The battle between Kenneth and Seba was probably the least exciting clashes, although Kenneth was pretty good when behind.Vissing came through from at 15m penalty into second place and wasn't far off the heat win.Törnqvist was a typical Swede.Looked good when he gated but couldn't do a thing if he didn't ......only joking Henrik Vedel is looking pretty good for you Peter. And how did it go on monday?Give us the results. It was too much.Vojens monday and wednesday and then the jubilee meeting in Holsted tomorrow.Although i might miss that one as well now.........
  17. Vojens 55 K.Bjerre (2,3,3,3,1,2)14 K.Jakobsen (0,3,2*,1,2*,3)11+2 P.Norgaard (3,2*,3,3,3,1*)15+2 R.Törnqvist (1,3,1,0,3,2*)10+1 M.J.Jensen (e.f,2*,1,2*)5+2 Fjelsted 32 S.Ulamek (3,e.f,2,6,1,2,3)15 C.Vissing (1,2,ex,2,2*,0,F.x)7+1 R.Bach (2,1,F.x,F,0)3 N.Barrett (0,1,0,0,F.x)1 S.Andersen (1*,1,1,1)4+1 Looks a bit one sided but it wasn't that bad a meeting. Some interesting battles going on between Jakobsen and Vissing and then Norgaard and bach had some good races.Vissing came hard under Klaus in one heat and wiped Klaus out.Claus was excluded. Then René was really going hard round the outside and lost control. Then he was having a great race with Klaus Jakobsen and in the last bend seemed to try and cut across Klaus to stop him coming through and had a spectacular fall.Luckily he got up,but didn't look so good in his last heat and must have pulled out of the nominated heat with bruises. The debut of LiGlad ........well he didn't look as impressive as in the Danish Final. But still looks to be a big talent for the future. Was in second place in his first heat before his bike packed up.And well.....he beat Ulamek and Vissing, just like i thought or hoped he might There was also some very good team riding from Vojens which was nice.Patrick Norgaard continues to impress.......
  18. Maybe not.But one thing i have learnt in the past few days.Gdansk and this meeting. It is not just Olsen that can knock up a boring track. And the other ones are permanent rather than temp tracks Just hope Ole has Vojens in shape for tomorrow Woohoo, the blue water truck just made the best pass of the night so far on the second red tractor to come from the back.......
  19. Lost the sound just now......what was PK talking about????? I could only guess he was saying-....."this is my blue helmet.....er this is my white helmet....and er this is my yellow helmet,...." weird
  20. It also enables a bit of a cheat in the time period.A father in law can be quite a bit younger than the actual blood father.I guess it is possible to have a father in law younger than yourself even......
  21. Well tomorrow see's the Superleague debut of young LiGlad. That is where i will be heading See if he can maybe rattle a few of the more experienced riders like Claus Vissing or even Seb Ulamek
  22. Be careful there Anders.Stralsund is right on the coast and anyway a tourist attraction,so in August could be very busy........there are B&B's just across the road from the track.....
  23. Hi Anders. It is usually an afternoon meeting.15:00/16:00.I don't think they can start earlier because of all the people with their little gardens complaining about the noise.I don't think riders can start warming up their bikes until 15:00.........
  24. Surely clanger should have been written in this font ?????
