  1. QUOTE (Robbie B @ Jul 3 2009, 08:08 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Great call frenchy. Briggo, must had rode in New Zealand before coming to Great Britain, how long I don't know. 42 years is now the longest period of a racing career, so far. Yes,but if you include something like that....what about Jack Parker who started in 1928 and rode at the Hackney 50 year meeting in 1978(was it???? )
  2. A little disappointed Stekkers didn't put Nicolai or Patrick in for this one.Would have given them a chance to get among the points against that opposition i feel. And i do feel going to the race off is the best bet anyway. So everyone's a winner. But who does he leave out? Can't really leave out Nicki or Hans, because of the gate.....i would leave out Bjerne personally for this one,but then if he is struggling for confidence and just starting to get going it is the wrong time.....I feel Nic or patrick would still manage 5-8 points.........just hope Emil is there
  3. Good to hear that WA are getting a few youngsters coming through. The competition helps them all.But no,i can't make it to Poland for this one, sadly.Would have been nice to see it on the net.
  4. Tbh,i don't know much about him......he was still riding in the 70s wasn't he? At the time i really only heard about him through his training schools at Weymouth, wasn't it?
  5. Not speedway, but mention of Samuelsson brings to mind the career of Posa Serenius who has been qualifying for and on occasion winning the Ice racing World title for over 30 years now........amazing guy.Still can hold his own against riders about a third of his age
  6. Post no.7....i spell out the scenario even further Harris either makes it or he is seeded.......but i am not arguing.Just saying that is was mentioned, just at the time i don't think anyone believed us There is no way they would send 8 + Harris from Latvia.....
  7. QUOTE (Robbie B @ Jul 3 2009, 12:43 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Good call but 1928 - 1963 is only 35 years, Ross has been going for 37 and counting. Yes,but like it was stated Ron was riding in Australia previous to 1928......and are we talking unbroken career? As i don't think Ross has ridden every year of those 37 has he?Then again i am not sure Johnson did either.......
  8. So....let me get this right here.....Wales and Scotland aren't separate countries......meaning you were born in Britain and are therefore British So why keep on and on and on about you not being British??????
  9. I know a beautiful(and i thought intelligent) Head teacher here who tells me she loves Swansea!!!!!I have never even heard that from a Welsh person
  10. Then AndyM will argue about that.Bryn will call it god's country(well he was still posting ) and Norbold will argue the toss about god, whether he exists and if he does whether he has a country Still as a Welsh person....when you travel abroad on holiday do foreigners even know what or where Wales is?
  11. Never heard of it....and i passed A level geography.....see what i mean I guess that is where you got the name "Taffy" from though is it?
  12. Wembley for me every time.I don't think big meetings like GP's should be held in speedway backwaters like Wales and Latvia.......
  13. Where is the consistency spook? You give Zagar and Dryml wiggly bits bit leave out Miedziński's and Lindbäck's
  14. Thanks Shelleh. And how has Camo been going since last year?
  15. I don't disagree with you on that. But there is a financial reality in the situation. It is funny because when it normally crops up there is all the talk about "this meeting(usually World U21 final,etc....)should be held in one of the major countries, not some speedway backwater..........now we might see it happen in GB.I hope we don't though.......
  16. This is what myself and a few have been saying for a couple of days.Like i said before i expect Chris Harris to be in the Final no matter what.He either qualifies or is seeded. I think he would rather qualify though. But now Tai and james wright are in the mix.I still think Bomber should get the spot if none make it through
  17. Yeah, but Boyce hasn't won anything with top rider......i mean he managed to guide the Ozzie U21 team with Holder and Batch into 4th place in the final last year
  18. It is strange with Patrick and Leon as the DMU have seeded them into the Danish U21 final,so they don't have to ride in the semi finals in Brovst which clash with the meeting in Daugavpils Danish semi's
  19. Still.....even if he only managed 3 laps it would still put him pretty high up in the rankings
  20. That is what i saw on the net.But now Ulamek has been taken to hospital in Sweden. Not sure if that is anything serious, but could change things if.....
  21. I note that the team for Peterborough doesn't include GP riders Holta and Walasek.....but does include Miedzinski though
  22. Not sure about that.Best to keep an eye on this site. The site of the host club.Maybe something will come up,if not live then probably later. They have some film of their meeting with danish side Herning earlier in the year.Gave one of the favourites Kasper Lykke Nielsen a good look at the track.Good thing is they have an english version.....Rybnik YGT
  23. Glad to see you have Vakulic back as a Slovakian though Are you sure Laguta will get the wc now he has seemingly given up on his attempt to become a Latvian and thrown his lot in with Russia? Seem to remember the Russian federation were not too happy when he got the wc for the Latvian GP the other year.....
