Good luck to him.I remember Palm Toft just scraping through the semi's and then winning the title! René Bach should have had that one -

Will Hans Ride In A World Cup On Saturday?
iris123 replied to krompa's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
No.He will wait until tomorrow.Swelling is down, but only a 50-50 chance he can ride Hans will wait -
Any forum members going to this one?Garf,Peter S?Lis?...?????? Not unduly worried if Hans doesn't ride.Like i said in another thread i would prefer to see Nicolai given a chance in this meeting.Let Hans have a rest and help win the title later on

Andersen Crash In Sweden.
iris123 replied to From PC to KC.'s topic in International World of Speedway
Seems that Nicolai will be training in Vojens tomorrow.Doubtful Hans will ride Hans Andersen -
We can't say.Neither can we say what she did or did not do at Cable Street. Not sure how many times she was interviewed in later years.Maybe you know of an interview where these questions along with whether she changed her views on Nazi Germany and Hitler after the war and why she had a hoard of Hitler memorabilia in her house were put to her? Would be interested to know just what she loved about Nazi Germany I'd also like to know if Clem had "No Pasarán" sewn on the back of his leathers
-
I don't understand the argument. If GB have one rider in the GP's they will still be able to have another at Cardiff.......why is it neccesary to have 3 riders at cardiff to bring the crowd in?Is it really going to affect the crowd so much to have 2 struggling riders instead of 1?Maybe we should lobby for a few more to struggle in the series then,so Cardiff will finally sell-out!
-
Sometimes maybe i am strange......but just seeing the name Jimmy Hyll made me chuckle Just wonder whatever happened to Mattias Nilsson........i thought he looked very promising some years ago,but now he is scraping around in the lower league
-
Well it has been noted elsewhere that history was rewritten years ago........"airbrushing"......You just have to look at the notes from the files on her to see she was someone who held extremely odious political views. No way in my opinion does she deserve to be held up as a speedway heroine......"this war is terribly unfair" and having a hymn in which Hitlers name replaced gods!!!!!!!Clem Beckett,George Orwell and other who went to Spain to fight in the International Brigade deserve to be remembered as heroes. This woman and people sharing her views don't F.Taylour extremist

Andersen Crash In Sweden.
iris123 replied to From PC to KC.'s topic in International World of Speedway
Unless he changes there could be a very nasty accident. It is all well and good being enthusiastic and exciting......but he is looking at the very least careless if not down right dangerous. And from what i have seen, his mechanic isn't helping him much with his attitude -
Why has Simon Nielsen a high average,Anders?I see LiGlad is now riding in Sweden ....And any idea why Wölbert isn't?Or at least i haven't noticed if he is.And he lives just spitting distance from the German-Sweden ferry Compared to Smolinski who lives at the other end of Germany........maybe he is asking for too much? But would do a good job for a team i think
-
I somehow think you would have a different opinion if she was a muslim extremist
-
Well i certainly feel that someone holding extreme right wing views as Fay Taylour did is enough to negate anything she ever done on a speedway track. If someone was extreme enough to come to the government's attention, then she shouldn't be held up as some sort of heroine
-
Agree 100% with these posts. It would be a very bad joke if Nicholls,Woffinden or Kennett were given a wc for next seasons GP's.I'd rather see Smolinski in,and he wouldn't be able to hold his own either. But at least it might give a boost to the sport in Germany.Whilst yet another British wc would just allow the complacency to set even further in.............when they really need a kick up the arris

Ikaros Smederna Files For Bankruptcy
iris123 replied to Ghostwalker's topic in International World of Speedway
Very sad news.Smederna were always my favourite foreign team because of Tommy Jansson. It is still the one stadium i would love to visit to see a speedway meeting with the Blacksmiths on track. -
Well 2007 at Vojens there were strong rumours that both Freddie and Kasprzak had been given a WC before the meeting, and that is how it seemed to a lot of fans who i spoke to as they couldn't understand the lacklustre performances otherwise.........but both rode in the meeting
-
Well they are certainly using speedway footage on the preview film.Would seem strange to use footage of another sport in your advertising Why not just use footage of the sport that was going to be on show?
-
That is the problem though....whatever a lot of people say.....most of the best riders are already in the GP's.Outside there isn't really that many that would bring much to the show.........it is generally the same.swap one rider that can't hack it at that level for another.........apart from a rider like Emil, and they are few and far between
-
After Spain and Malaysia, now it seems there will be an attempt at running speedway in Brazil, near Rio Maybe someone has seen Antonio in the news or had a holiday to Argentina??????I think there was speedway before the 2nd World war with Frank Varey,as well as his meetings in Argentina My friend Seli in inspeed.de has to take credit for finding this one.But i hope it doesn't go the way of Spain and Malaysia seem to.Would love to see some test meetings between Brazil and Argentina in the future. That would be some rivallry

Danish Under-21 Semi Final - 28th June - Outrup
iris123 replied to LeapingLena's topic in International World of Speedway
The Danish U21/U19 semi's are being held today in Brovst. On the 21st June were Semi Finals of the 80cc Danish Championship in Outrup. Are you confusing these two competitions? -
It doesn't really explain why Crump is so much better than everyone else at the moment. There must be something other than the psycholgical element that is making him soooooo much better, surely?I have seen riders winning on confidence or by out psyching others.......but they don't win by such a distance against 3 other very good riders. And look at Emil as well for that matter........Holloway is giving him an advantage that he is using well......apart from Cardiff, where he looked normal.
