  1. Well i certainly feel that someone holding extreme right wing views as Fay Taylour did is enough to negate anything she ever done on a speedway track. If someone was extreme enough to come to the government's attention, then she shouldn't be held up as some sort of heroine
  2. Agree 100% with these posts. It would be a very bad joke if Nicholls,Woffinden or Kennett were given a wc for next seasons GP's.I'd rather see Smolinski in,and he wouldn't be able to hold his own either. But at least it might give a boost to the sport in Germany.Whilst yet another British wc would just allow the complacency to set even further in.............when they really need a kick up the arris
  3. Very sad news.Smederna were always my favourite foreign team because of Tommy Jansson. It is still the one stadium i would love to visit to see a speedway meeting with the Blacksmiths on track.
  4. Well 2007 at Vojens there were strong rumours that both Freddie and Kasprzak had been given a WC before the meeting, and that is how it seemed to a lot of fans who i spoke to as they couldn't understand the lacklustre performances otherwise.........but both rode in the meeting
  5. Well they are certainly using speedway footage on the preview film.Would seem strange to use footage of another sport in your advertising Why not just use footage of the sport that was going to be on show?
  6. That is the problem though....whatever a lot of people say.....most of the best riders are already in the GP's.Outside there isn't really that many that would bring much to the show.........it is generally the same.swap one rider that can't hack it at that level for another.........apart from a rider like Emil, and they are few and far between
  7. After Spain and Malaysia, now it seems there will be an attempt at running speedway in Brazil, near Rio Maybe someone has seen Antonio in the news or had a holiday to Argentina??????I think there was speedway before the 2nd World war with Frank Varey,as well as his meetings in Argentina My friend Seli in inspeed.de has to take credit for finding this one.But i hope it doesn't go the way of Spain and Malaysia seem to.Would love to see some test meetings between Brazil and Argentina in the future. That would be some rivallry
  8. Here is the result from the 1st of todays semi finals from Brovst Danish U21/U19 semi (1) Good result from Patrick Nørgaard.I said earlier in the season he was impressing me.Has really improved in the last year...... And the 2nd semi, won by LiGlad 2nd semi result Klindt,Madsen and Hougaard are seeded into the Final
  9. The Danish U21/U19 semi's are being held today in Brovst. On the 21st June were Semi Finals of the 80cc Danish Championship in Outrup. Are you confusing these two competitions?
  10. It doesn't really explain why Crump is so much better than everyone else at the moment. There must be something other than the psycholgical element that is making him soooooo much better, surely?I have seen riders winning on confidence or by out psyching others.......but they don't win by such a distance against 3 other very good riders. And look at Emil as well for that matter........Holloway is giving him an advantage that he is using well......apart from Cardiff, where he looked normal.
  11. QUOTE (Robbie B @ Jul 3 2009, 08:08 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Great call frenchy. Briggo, must had rode in New Zealand before coming to Great Britain, how long I don't know. 42 years is now the longest period of a racing career, so far. Yes,but if you include something like that....what about Jack Parker who started in 1928 and rode at the Hackney 50 year meeting in 1978(was it???? )
  12. A little disappointed Stekkers didn't put Nicolai or Patrick in for this one.Would have given them a chance to get among the points against that opposition i feel. And i do feel going to the race off is the best bet anyway. So everyone's a winner. But who does he leave out? Can't really leave out Nicki or Hans, because of the gate.....i would leave out Bjerne personally for this one,but then if he is struggling for confidence and just starting to get going it is the wrong time.....I feel Nic or patrick would still manage 5-8 points.........just hope Emil is there
  13. Good to hear that WA are getting a few youngsters coming through. The competition helps them all.But no,i can't make it to Poland for this one, sadly.Would have been nice to see it on the net.
  14. Tbh,i don't know much about him......he was still riding in the 70s wasn't he? At the time i really only heard about him through his training schools at Weymouth, wasn't it?
  15. Not speedway, but mention of Samuelsson brings to mind the career of Posa Serenius who has been qualifying for and on occasion winning the Ice racing World title for over 30 years now........amazing guy.Still can hold his own against riders about a third of his age
  16. Post no.7....i spell out the scenario even further Harris either makes it or he is seeded.......but i am not arguing.Just saying that is was mentioned, just at the time i don't think anyone believed us There is no way they would send 8 + Harris from Latvia.....
  17. QUOTE (Robbie B @ Jul 3 2009, 12:43 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Good call but 1928 - 1963 is only 35 years, Ross has been going for 37 and counting. Yes,but like it was stated Ron was riding in Australia previous to 1928......and are we talking unbroken career? As i don't think Ross has ridden every year of those 37 has he?Then again i am not sure Johnson did either.......
  18. So....let me get this right here.....Wales and Scotland aren't separate countries......meaning you were born in Britain and are therefore British So why keep on and on and on about you not being British??????
  19. I know a beautiful(and i thought intelligent) Head teacher here who tells me she loves Swansea!!!!!I have never even heard that from a Welsh person
  20. Then AndyM will argue about that.Bryn will call it god's country(well he was still posting ) and Norbold will argue the toss about god, whether he exists and if he does whether he has a country Still as a Welsh person....when you travel abroad on holiday do foreigners even know what or where Wales is?
  21. Never heard of it....and i passed A level geography.....see what i mean I guess that is where you got the name "Taffy" from though is it?
  22. Wembley for me every time.I don't think big meetings like GP's should be held in speedway backwaters like Wales and Latvia.......
  23. Where is the consistency spook? You give Zagar and Dryml wiggly bits bit leave out Miedziński's and Lindbäck's
