  1. And the Golden Helmet should be live on this channel on sunday.Looking at the programme it will start 15:10 Czech time.It was on livestream last year and the year before i think......Have also seen some Czech League meetings on the net.Not sure if it was this channel or somewhere else. Can't find the link now.....
  2. The U21 is tomorrow and the Golden Helmet is sunday as long as Darcy doesn't ride in any of the prelim heats which are held after the Golden Ribbon(which is held on saturday). So i guess the organisers will give him a bye into the sunday rounds.......
  3. Try this channel http://www.ceskatelevize.cz/ivysilani/2084...cyklove-zavody/
  4. I imagine tv companies/audiences influence nominations. But i also imagine what a rider can bring to the GP in terms of personal sponsorship also plays a part. Not everything you hear from people in the sport has to be true, but i did hear that one rider in particular was chosen over another because he had better sponsors
  5. So the suggestion is that they are happy with the way Ole is preparing the tracks.Maybe even telling him how to do them?So getting rid of Ole and replacing him with Tony O will not have much affect on track prep Yes.I was talking not specifically about the GPs there, but generally about how international speedway comps work in the modern world.Fritz Wallner can get knocked out of the World U21 Championship, but still be in the final because Wiener Neustedt are hosting it.If it happens on the lesser stages it will happen even more when there is more at risk financially. It is significant that Sky are voicing criticism though,as tv companies more than fans will make the men in charge sit up and take notice
  6. You do talk some sense, which isn't the norm on here most times. But hasn't it already been established that IMG don't have as much power as you believe. The FIM still have a good bit to say about things. And whoever it is that makes the decisions about track prep(either Ole makes the decision and IMG/FIM are happy with it or Ole gets told how to do it because of sponsors board)Olsson will be in the same position won't he?I doubt we will see an overnight change in the way tracks(at least the temp tracks for certain)are prepared........ And yes it might not be everyones cup of tea to have riders picked, but that is the way things are.Look at the junior finals etc,the home country has a rider seeded or even a team seeded through to the final.A lot of the time we are lucky and the rider/team is worthy of a place, but some times they take the place of a better rider. It isn't good in one sense, but i guess there just aren't the Promoters out there willing to take a chance without "home" interest
  7. That is an indoor speedway meeting on ice,not Ice Speedway or Isracing as it is called in Sweden. So i would think it will be 100% shale riders
  8. Obviously he will be one of the favourites, but i don't think Pavlic will do it.I am hoping Nicolai manages to add this to his Euro U19 title.Think it will be very tight with about 8 riders in with a chance though
  9. And it would seem Kevin Wölbert has withdrawn to ride for Edinburgh
  10. Also wasn't it Jonsson who held his gate position up to his sponsorless arm as a parody of that trend?Plus Nicki's sponsor was all wrinkled up as to make it pointless when he done it .....then Emil playing with his Red Bull bottle during his interview(on Polish tv anyway).....
  11. Don't think it will work out as the best.Probably not even a good year.I think the injuries and maybe the family life is taking its toll on Nicki sadly.Don't think he will be challenging and i very much doubt Crump will be up there again.I tend to think Emil will romp away with it.The old guard are on the way out and he could possibly win a few on the trot. But he does seem to be a bit slower since all the stuff about him cheating came out.I think he will have learnt a hell of a lot from this year though and come out far better next year.Which is frightening for the others........Hans and Andreas have shown flashes of what might have been over the past few years, but i don't think either will ever really challenge.Kenneth maybe.......
  12. I bow to your greater knowledge. I guess they are the only thing Ole doesn't fiddle around with
  13. I agree.Far to little of the start girls. The one in blue reminds me a bit of Sabatini......nice
  14. Exactly.Nicki must be doubly brilliant as a motorbike rider if he pulled that manouvre off on purpose
  15. Let's hope the start girls change into their beach volleyball gear for the interval entertainment.Might have attracted more of a crowd if they did.
  16. Think you will have to sort out the venues for those first Rob
  17. I always think of Max Bygraves,Val Doonican,Variety shows,Jessie Matthews, people who use bed posts as instruments, people who bash themselves over the head with trays, dancers in flesh coloured tights and spangly outfits,Topogigio,Max Wall,Peter Osgood,Harry Secombe and radio comedy shows where everyone has a northern accent......whenever i see the name Karl Denver.Never speedway Maybe i need help with that
  18. It has been stated on the web that if Denmark only get one rider in the top 8 they are assured of 2 wildcard places. Then again,as i mentioned about a week ago,it was stated on Polish tv that if Harris failed to get through the GP Challenge then Tai would get a wildcard.......
  19. A suggestion.....blimey he is the Devil incarnate
  20. Absolutely 100% disagree.Olsen might not be everyones cup of tea at the moment, but the state of speedway in GB can't be blamed on him.Look at the promoters who have run the sport into the ground since well.......i would say the 1940s ....but the recent promoters also have done a fair bit of damage And anyway,i think he has payed England back enough by continually giving Nicholls a wildcard into the GPs
  21. Always good for a laugh these threads about the British WC.This years looks to be one of the funniest ever at this rate
  22. According to the FIM President the GPs must expand into other countries.GP future
  23. "Could".....You are somehow forgetting the young Danes in all of that Just wait until LiGlad starts racing more and more abroad next year to see what impact he has on the speedway world.I imagine he will be challenging Darcy for honours in the U21s for a few years, without the likes of Mikkel Michelsen and Mikkel B.Jensen hard on their tales
  24. Not so happy with Zorro and Hampel getting through.Ok,Hampel might be there or there abouts, but is about as interesting as a bopok on carburetor adjustments Then you can't always expect the top 16 riders to be the most exciting.Very glad to see Holder in though
  25. Or qualifying......by managing to get through the qualifying process.Whether that be this year or next, they have qualified by the rules set out in advance. You call it tamata i call it tomata....or something
