Gollob - 2010 Race Suspension?
iris123 replied to a topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Not saying what the punishment should be.....but going by pandorum's post should we only punish riders who don't entertain?Hancock is ok to punish,Nicki not.Lindgren, kick him out.Bjerre doesn't talk to anyone.Ban him for a start -
The plot thickens like the ice in Sanok with the 3rd quali meeting. Here they have Teterow down to host the meetingIce Calendar And reports are, that because of the weather Sanok will have track ready by the 23rd of November.15-20cms of ice

Bydgoszcz Gp And Torun Play Off

Ties in with what the riders were saying in a couple of interviews i heard. But why let that get in the way of slagging Olsen off? Was way too late to be held in Poland what with the weather in those parts over the last week or so.We had a record low for this time of year in Germany last week as well -8C and 15cm of snow..... And let's face it.........everyone should know what the tracks are going to be like by now.How often does everyone moan? But people still travel and then act all surprised that the track is slick A fool and his money........ -
Am now wondering if maybe Norbolds link is another Count Strachwitz.Maybe this guy was the one riding speedway bikes before the war?He would have been about 30 when he appeared at the Hamburg Dirt Track Arena in 1929 Mauritz von Strachwitz.....had confirmation that it is definitely not Mauritz But if it was Norbold's Count Strachwitz we could have had the anti-Communist facing up to Clem Beckett who was also in Hamburg in 1929.Maybe a more likely meeting, than Clem and Fay the Fascist
-
Interesting Norbold.I had imagined Count Strachwitz was some obscure guy with a title, rather than someone with a big write up on Wikepedia.Would seem pretty likely that this is the same guy riding speedway pre-war on the continent,if he "inherited the title..."Sounds like he was the only one with a right to call himself by that name at the right time. And then the mention of his sporting prowess
-
Count Strachwitz most certainly didn't.But was he the only rider with a title to his name or were there other landed gentry riding speedway bikes?

Gollob - 2010 Race Suspension?
iris123 replied to a topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I didn't see it live....but watching it this morning do you really think Nicki jumped the start?I watched it a few times and think he made a fantastic start.I am open to other opinions on this, but it to me looked like he didn't move until the tapes were almost all the way up He was for sure a split second out before the others, but i couldn't see any movement before the tapes went up -
Gollob - 2010 Race Suspension?

What planet are you on? Even if Nicki was excluded i still don't think it was the right decision. And Gollobs behaviour is unexcusable.Terrible attitude from such a seasoned campaigner.Realised all was lost and spat out his dummy........ -
I don't think Bartolus comes from any country within the British Isles

Bydgoszcz Gp And Torun Play Off
iris123 replied to bruno's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Oh yes.Looking forward to next year already........plenty of action at Vojens,Ole will be inspecting the hot spots in Asia,it will be Nicki and Emil battling it out for the title as it will be the return of Crump the Slump rather than Jase the Ace -
Hey!!!I had to give Phil a fiver to start the thread just so i could post that

A number of candidates in the Poole area

Met Ove last year at Vojens.Like you say,he was great.Told him as a Wimbledon supporter i was obviously more a Mirac fan.He siad "It's ok,i was a big fan of Ronnie's as well" Have met Erik Gundersen quite a bit now and he will always come up and say hi and have a bit of a chat, depending on how much time he has.But a really great guy. Pity i have never had the chance to meet up with Olle,as he was my first hero

iris123 replied to bruno's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Don't know cuz.In isolation maybe it might be read like that. But along with the posts made on the other thread i seem to be of the opinion Bradford Ace would be over the moon if the GP was cancelled -
Which Brit Should Get A Wild Card?
iris123 replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I think Steve is getting himself in a muddle with lot of words........It has been stated quite often that there is never the best 15 or 16 riders. The SGP is run to make a profit and that mean riders are picked not only for their riding ability, but also their ability to attract fans,tv,sponsors.I and others have stated this umpteen times Pretty sure i stated it in my post that you seemed to think suggested Lee Richardson is a worldbeater. So you carry on with going over old ground......... -
Which Brit Should Get A Wild Card?
iris123 replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Including the SGP.There is a cap on how many Poles or Danes get selected which generally means one gets tossed aside so another can come in....... -

I disagree.I think Steve is making it far more complicated than it is.Is there really so much mystery and confusion as to why they have picked the riders they have/will? -
On the Russian forum they have the 3rd quali down for St.Johann in Pongau also on the same weekend as Sanok.Maybe like you say Sweden is a bit risky after last years balls up

Results from the rained off meeting in Güstrow yesterday. Result taken after 14 heats Güstrow B 18 M.Schultz (1-2-3-3) T.Busch (2-3-2-2) Güstow A 16 K.Wölbert (2-1-3-3) R.Haupt (3-0-2-2) Grudziadz 15 P.Swist (3-3-1-3) P.Rembas (2-1-0-2) Poznan 13 R.Okoniewski (0-2-2-3) L.Jankowski (3-0-1-2) Güstrow C 11 C.Hefenbrock (2-3-1-1) S.Mell (3-1-0-0) Holsted 7 P.Bjerregaard (1-0-0-0) U.Östergaard (0-2-3-1) Dackarna 4 P.Aspgren (1-1-1-1) T.Gudmundsson (0-0-0-0) Considering the rain started just as the riders went out on track and continued throughout the meeting, gradually getting worse it wasn't a bad meeting.Only the Swedish pair looked really outclassed.Pity Jonasson pulled out.But otherwise it was a pretty even meeting.Ulrich lining up in his new team colours was quite impressive.Twisty is always good to watch and the Germans were right in amongst it.Tobi Busch looking good, but said his form came far too late in the season.Pardubice last weekend and now Güstrow.Matze had what looked like a nasty crash as the track got sodden, but got up and wanted to carry on.He was out on track with Tobi when the ref stopped the meeting.1,000 fans braved the weather fotos
