Wild Cards For 09
iris123 replied to beesbarmyarmy's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I would imagine they are certainties. This is the thread for the GP season just gone,so we know they were certain -
I can only imagine there are no promoters in Sweden or GB willing to chance it with two meetings in a couple of days.maybe if they only had to host the final. But it looks like only Poland and Denmark are willing to host the meetings at the mo.Let's face it with the GB team they are hardly assured of making the final and then the promoter is left with a half empty stadium........

Typical woman, getting the years all mixed up.How old are you?Still 24 i suppose
-
Whatcha mean "last year"?Do you mean by that this season? .....It does what it say's on the tin.....It is the Longtrack equivalent of the Grand Challenge thingmybob which was at Coventry this year or was it last year?

Just hope it works out or we will have Robert Mears and Auty next.No-one else left is there?
-
Well Kennett forgets his passport anyway
-
Got to feel sorry for the 10 or 20 riders better than Kennett in the world who have no chance of getting in because of their nationality.Laguta for one has done better in the big meetings and has no chance.I would rather see Kevin Wölbert in anyway

Ah,put some Castrol R in the burner....on the patio with a bottle of something strong....hic!

Crikey,Austria has become the main centre of Ice racing this year in the west. How much of this is down to help from the Dutch i wonder?Thought i read something about this on the Russian forum.Might be mistaken though Can't really take any credit. It was the Russians who were reporting St.Johann as the home for that 3rd quali

Even found this on the Russian equivalent of the polish livestream site..... The last bit is important.Seems even Russians can't find a stream -
Pathetic effort. They relay tracks in an hour or so in Denmark and Sweden. They should have done this days ago or at least yesterday an hour or two before the meeting.Laughing stock of the speedway world for such an important meeting. But at least it shows it isn't only Olsen who has problems and these are the people who do it every week or so.....

Agree. He has failed to qualify the last 2 seasons. This season by quite a margin.Might as well, using Parsloes logic give Pavlic the spot over Zagar anyway as he is younger and not quite as good

More chance of Ian Paisley buying a Celtic season ticket

By all accounts Vojens is a certainty. They have a full programme next season with the GP Challenge,SWC Race-off and Final, plus the GP and the 80cc YGT ....and of course the DSL meetings. And they even wanted a round of the World U21 Finals being held over 3 meetings.Pity they were turned down and they are all being held in Eastern Europe....

Sums up the situation very well i think. But even those riders in the series, but not in the "elite" find it very hard to keep up and try to break into that "elite".I think this is one of the main reasons Holta is supposedly thinking hard about whether to go through it all again. The amount of money and effort it takes to try and keep in the top 8 has taken it toll. But then again it has been said that the way he was looking after the GP last weekend wasn't like someone who wasn't bothered he managed to retain his place. It would be extremely difficult for most youngsters to gain the sponsorship and other backing needed to put up much of a showing.Pavlic i guess should have better backing than most, but he seems to be going backwards anyway........there are problems i have heard,as there often are with talented youngsters.
