I do seem to remember something along the lines of what f-s-p mentioned.Thought Martin Dugard was involved saying riders don't need these meetings. Not sure if Kennett or Bridger was the rider involved though. It does seem to be GB that doesn't take these international comps seriously

Certainly consider myself lucky to have been able to have watched Tommy race often at Plough Lane and even the once at Wembley in 75.Was a great speedway rider and always had time for us youngsters lining up to get his autograph after the meetings.A very special person RIP Tommy

Thought he was one or two years younger.I remember watching Hougaard alongside Madsen,Klindt etc race against the Swedish U21 team of Aldén,Eric Andersson,Kling etc and Jonasson didn't seem to be a name at the time.So figured he must be a couple of years younger. But i guess the Danes were mostly a few years younger than their opponents.Patrick seems to have been around forever in the U21s!!!!

Yup.Really if it wasn't for the fact that Jari and LiGlad tangled(???? ) Timo would have ended up with nothing in that heat.So 2 points was a real bonus

Swedish Elite League Tuesday 18th May

Yes they are in the middle of nowhere.I love the tracks that have the picnic tables and benches at right angles to the track,so people have to twist round to see half the track.....weird,but they seem to love it -
He would have been in the run-off if he had held first place in the re-run of heat 12.But again he dropped to the back and only gained the extra point because Jepsen Jensen had bike trouble and had to push home But the young Finns were lively

Not sure it is panic stations just yet.The forecast i saw was for light rain intermittenly through the next few days.Probably what a track curator would wish for.Rain isn't always a bad thing.I was in Denmark at the weekend and it rained constantly for hours through the afternoon and night.Next day in Vojens they held two meetings starting with the first at 11 in the morning and they said despite the weather the track just got better as the day went on .Just about 40 miles away in Holsted their two meetings were cancelled
-
4th team in Güstrow will be Slovenia Denmarks team should be P.Hougaard P.Kildemand R.Bach M.Jepsen Jensen L.Bjerre which before the weekend i thought would be pretty good, but after the performance of Sweden in Holsted( and presumably they will be boosted by the inclusion of Jonasson) the Swedes look very strong

A few pics from the Scandinavian meeting in Holsted Nordic U21 Final Dennis Andersson was super in what was one of the best meetings at Holsted for a while that i have seen.Very lucky with the weather. It started to rain right at the end and never let up until late this morning.Surprises for me were the fact that Jepsen Jensen struggled so badly and Jari Mäkinen was so great.Probably the most exciting rider of the meeting.A completely different rider to the one who seemed to give up so easily in Stralsund last season. Was very aggresive and had a shoulder to shoulder battle with Lasse Bjerre and had a great race with Michael Jepsen Jensen. Was hard from my position at the other end of the track, but Jari could perhaps think himself unlucky to be excluded when he came under LiGlad and Jepsen Jensen fell. Was a tough battle between the Danes and the Swedes.Hougaard was not really at his best.Bjerre and Bach were great entertainment.Lasse will only get stronger.Lindgren was the real disappointment of the meeting.Looked very poor.Always been a fan of Andersson since i saw him some years back in the YGT,so happy to see him fullfill the promise he showed at Skaerbaek.

Can't help you i am afraid.I went by bike from Germany a couple of seasons back and thought it would be a doddle to find.Rode all over the place and couldn't find it.Stopped at a petrol station and asked there and was getting nowhere as the woman didn't understand english at all and only a little german. As luck would have it Jonasson's mechanic pulled in to fill up,so he told me to follow him It is a big local derby though,so the likelyhood is tickets will go like hot cakes.Good luck and stay safe
-
Yes.The explanation is on the Danish Fixtures thread
-
Hope for a bigger crowd and a better result for the Danes at Holsted
-
Puk is out injured,so it wasn't really one or the other

Yes.Looks like a baptism of well,er .....water for new track man Olsson.See how well he and his team cope with this lot.Hope for those that travelled that the meeting is on.But it doesn't look good for a decent GP even if it is -
Interesting 'Bryn'.How do you come to this absolute conclusion i wonder?Do all the referees speak out load as they sort out in their mind what has just happened or do you ask them after each incident or do they automatically tell you?

Who? Do we know Nicola is female?Or are you talking about someone else?Nicola is also a male name in Italy.Nicola Conti is an Italian boxer and Nicola Pasini plays for AC Milan.Wouldn't want to feel his tackle -
And Engdahl will be leading the Swedish 80cc team to a glorious defeat at the hands of the mighty Danes in Vojens on sunday
-
At the moment because of finances,no.But according to the news on the league website if the financial situation makes a turn for the better then they would like to show league meetings again on Danish tv.So just the GP's and possibly(?)the Danish Final meetings
