Alright don't get your knickers.......no better not go there.Got people talking the last time i mentioned your knickers But some people on here do seem to care rather a lot about happenings in Germany.Particularly at airports -
Some info on Schneeweiss and other old Austrian riders on a very interesting site about motorcycle racing of all types in Austria. Some of it in english M.Schneeweiss

That is a pity, because as late as i guess the early 90s there were still some of the terracing and some of the stadium still to be seen. But once the Lions moved up the road i never ventured over there again because i always used South Bermondsey rather than the bus down the Old Kent Rd -
The clue was in "home team Sloboda"Ian Slobodskoy
-
Though i am not quite sure how Lumpov got 19 when he won all his heats and Heinz Göldi didn't get the extra point
-
And you forgot the important International challenge in Russia today The Netherlands with Stellingwerf and Holstein won with 24 points to Germany's(F.Fürst and M.Niedermaier)22,home team Sloboda(Lumpov, who won all his heats and H.Göldi who didn't score a point)19+3 and then Austria(Simon +Posch)19+2,Glasov 16,Samara 15 and Lukhovitsy 11

Yes it is.And that mirrors my opinion.

I agree with you here.I was/am doing some research on a German rider. The family told me that he was born down south near the Austrian border, from official sources i have it that he was born here in Hamburg. On the net it has been posted that he was in the Lutfwaffe but from official sources i have it that he was in the German version of the Royal Engineers. From British sources he was listed as German Champ, which came as a surprise to his family and i have never seen any list of German Champions that list him.......

Is there a list any where?King's Lynn is a new one on me,so maybe most tracks could be on it if they cough up the cash? -

Of course the race off is assured if Slovenia are also in But what i am saying is,if the meeting is being held in GB the authorities should do their utmost to use a track where GB have the best chance of going directly through to the Final.Anything else is extremely risky.Using King's Lynn, where none of the current squad ride as a home track is crazy imo.And to further the problems it was the home track of what could be called the weaker link in the Aussie squad i.e Darcy Ward.So now by using this track Australia are boosted and GB weakened in my opinion.Ok it is the home track of the GB manager. He can give the riders a few tips, but it isn't the same as using a track where two or three of the GB guys have ridden extensively over the past couple of years. The race offs will be very tricky for GB and the sport in GB needs a big boost on the international stage at the moment. And in this competition we can't rely on the good old wildcard -
Great knowledge of French riders, but seeing as you touched on the Germans. What about the early German riders who rode in GB.Hamburg rider Alfred Rumrich we know rode for a short period for the Dons. But what about the other guys who also rode pre war. What info do we have about the activities of Arnold Stolting and Fritz Niemeck who rode mainly at High Beech in 1930.Or the more successful Gustav "Bill" Kellner who rode for Preston in 1930 and 31 at least????

Hope our boys get plenty of track time through the season,as i would have thought you go for a track that gives the home team an advantage. But from my limited knowledge more foreign riders have ridden the track than British over the past few years.Australia probably have a few track experts.Or maybe we ain't looking to go straight through to the final Sometimes the allocation of tracks in Gb make me wonder what is going on.A competition that cries out for a "neutral" track gets allocated to a team in that competition.Whereas a competition that needs a track biased towards our riders gets allocated to a "neutral" track -
Pretty long career at a good level. We know that the French had their own version of the World Championship, but did any of them come over and compete in our version? And i think i have rumbled you boy.All the talk about French riders and then this continous stuff about "mind the lamp post"........Jacques Tati!!!!! That scene when he is walking down the road and the kids on the other side of the street whistle just as he is approaching the lamp post.Whallop.He didn't mind it did he? Funny scene
-
Yeah,but so is Farquhar
-
No you have that wrong Norbold.McKay wasn't really a kosher speedway rider and according to Cyril May it was Galloway who gave the cameras the first proper broadsliding exhibition seen in GB.Ok some might discredit Mr May,but millions believe in the bible and that is based on less facts than Cyrils book and articles i guess.I mean at least he did speak to the man in question and get the tale from the horses mouth
-
Still a chance he might have though i guess

Will certainly hit the pubs here soon.In Germany small pubs are exempt at the moment if they are under 75qm.And round the Reeperbahn for instance there are lots of very small pubs. You can only get about 10 or 15 people in some!!!I had never seen such small places before coming here. But the rules will change soon and they will also become no smoking zones. Can imagine that might hit business hardThought i also read that even these smoking areas in restaurants will also have to go and it will be 100% no smoking which is ridiculous and i am a non smoker....... -
The German nominations for the World Championship.Plus the problem with qualification spots due to Poland(and of course Netherlands i guess)having a reserved place in the GPs...... World Championship nominations
