Grand Prix In Australia And New Zealand?
iris123 replied to Dexter's topic in International World of Speedway
That is true.It was ex GP sponsor Meridian Lifts man who hinted a few years back that an "Asian" tour was on the cards and a few GPs in Asia/Australasia were being looked at.Would be great and a fitting tribute to the NZ Champs,Moore,Briggo and Mauger if a GP could be held in NZ before one or more kick the bucket -

Do we know when these myths started?Pre war or post war period? And it is of course a terrible slap in the face for serious historians of our sport that the FIM of all people continue to propogate such things

iris123 replied to Puma23's topic in Years Gone By
Fritz Dirtl was born on 09.01.1928 in Vienna. He made his racing debut on a Moto-Guzzi in Baden in 1946.In the Oberhausen meeting Josef Kampers front wheel hit Dirtl and both fell. The Polish rider Polukard then rode over Dirtls head -
Terrible Speedway Accident - Zbigniew Raniszewski

Jeez, doesn't look like there was even an attempt to fence the stairway off or cushion it.Was it just a stadium used for a one-off meeting?Even if,that is absolutely unbelievable -
Good effort from Fürst and Niedermaier.Hope Bauer is not too badly injured.Bad luck for Mark
-
Been saying that on and off for a few years now on here.Surprised it has taken him so long to sign for a team. When i saw him in Denmark a few years back he was very very impressive. At that time better than Ward on the Danish track

Think any story to do with a current or ex speedway rider is worthy of discussion. It is the speculation of what Galvin did and what sentence he should expect that is in bad taste ala VV

Internal politics causing trouble in Russia.GP hosts Saransk want their own rider Baseev in the qualis instead of Tschajka who finished a place above Baseev in the Russian Final.Saransk throwing their toys out of the pram and say if he isn't in then they won't stage the GP rounds.Ufa is being talked about as a possible alternative. Have read that Bauer has made a protest against all the riders in Steingaden who were using the old silencers. Not sure who they were though He is kicking himself that he lost out to Aakko after leading the whole heat, but apparently looked behind and forgot to use the throttle!!!!The extra point would have put him in the run-off with Zorn and Zmaga. But 4,000 people attending is a healthy crowd Bauer

Not yet,by the looks of that result He is hoping to branch out, just like he started riding Longtrack last year

Country To Win World Cup?
iris123 replied to WolvesAndy's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
"should" "may"...........Let us wait until a few months of the season to see what sort of form the riders are showing The Danes en mass, showed worrying poor form last year.I hope it isn't the same this year, but i do have major worries about Niels and Bjarne at least. And there isn't really anyone that could be a major force on the world scene next year, despite the good performance from Nicolai. -
Rather an unfortunate translation......."womens team" and "slag" in the same headline

Lisandro has ridden in Europe the past couple of seasons in Denmark and Norway.Rides in the Danish 1st divison(second tier)for Vojens with an average average

You can understand english i think.Read those comments thoroughly and show me where i have stated anyone with another opinion is wrong. The first bit was tongue in cheek and way ott.Even Shazzy could see that But it was just taking a pop at what i gathered was her opinion that one should never speak ill of the dead. The second post, yeak go on show me where i say any other opinion is wrong. If i say i can't understand that opinion or that the opinion isn't one i have, does that mean it is wrong? You're the expert, you tell me They are opinions. It isn't like saying someone rode 20 heats got 6 points and has an average of 8.That is either right or wrong

Pull yer neck in and come down from your pulpit Nowhere i my posts do you see me say someone can't have a differing opinion. This is a forum if you can't take people having another opinion this is the wrong place. If someone else has stated that, then kindly quote the right post. And just because a few people disagree with an opinion that isn't trying to "press gang" anyone.Take a look at any thread of any significance and tell me there ain't a nummebr of people agreeing and disagreeing with something. And anyway this is Shazzy you are talking about.Even if the whole blooming forum disagreed with her post she isn't going to be press ganged into changing her mind And i would imagine you have not only not read the book or knew Carter personally, but also never saw him ride and probably wouldn't know him from adam, because as far as i can gather you were only for a short period at the back end of the 60s and for a couple of meetings a few years back an active speedway fan,so are quite possibly just trolling this forum

Actually there were two posts deleted before rmc settled on this, the third try.The first one was ....well he deleted it,so it is best not to comment on deleted posts i think But i do wonder what sort of de-sensitized society we now live in when someone can kill another person and a third persons opinion of the killer isn't altered by this horrific event.
