Well aren't the football authorities currently working with the EU to bring in restrictions? As it is,i don't think anyone wants the whole thing blown open for all and sundry. As a development league i think there should be certain limits even though i call for foreign riders to be allowed in

Is Looking For A Team For This Season And Is More Than Ready!
iris123 replied to Tyrer123's topic in National League Speedway
Avoid the dodgy haircut and moustache that he had and your ahead already -
I have already stated my opinion. If it helps pull in the crowds by having a Dane or a young German rider or any other nationality,it helps the clubs and so helps British riders.Without the crowds we can forget about training up young Brits because there won't be many clubs and so not many fixtures for them.Plus, like i have said before, there isn't anything stopping young Brits riding on the continent to help further their development.I remember seeing a team including Bridger and Roynon riding in Germany.Pity it isn't a yearly fixture

Going back to the ban on Swedes, maybe my memory is bad,but i seem to recall it was more to do with cost of flying them in and out for British meetings than it was to do with nationality and helping young Brits. This was shown in the fact that resident Swedes like Sjösten and Olle Nygren were not banned if my memory is correct But there was a significant and very important Swedish representation in the top league at the time. Not really sure this has much to do with the situation in the NDL though. I personally feel that a number of foreign youngsters can only be of help to the progress of young British riders. And like i mentioned before,if they help put a few more on the gate that helps the clubs and subsequently also the Brits

Kevin Rowand - New Ice Speedway Rider
iris123 replied to Puma23's topic in International World of Speedway
Think Kevin has been riding for a few years.Mark will know better.Just he hasn't had many opportunities to ride in many meetings. And if i am correct his surname is Rowland -
I know from experience.I worked in a Chemical factory that was originally in an industrial area. But gradually the factories were reülaced by residential areas and the people moving in complained about the noise and the smell, not only from our place but also the pub across the road... It wasn't as if the could miss our place when looking around their soon to be home

Agree with you here.Is there any chance of getting a temp licence or something so Mildenhall can at least hold a couple of open meetings.Or even how they started before with training track meetings? Not sure if they still exist though.....but something so that at least the speedway keeps ticking over and not have a year out.
-
Well i did read yesterday that Camo Heeps is heading for the NL.So if this is wrong then the NL are losing out on the chance to see a good young prospect who can only help put bums on seats. And every promotions needs a few more of those along with helping the young Brits.Without paying customers there will be no NL teams to help anyone out

Just go back to my original post and after reading the offending post this morning, all i can say is ....Nuff said
-
...and to an extent i can understand that there are conditions specifically being applied to Mildenhall.I would think most people will understand that. But your last sentence is very important. It would be good to know this point. If all the new clubs have been asked to pay this, then fair enough. But if this has only been asked of Mildenhall then that is hardly democratic nor fair.I would also wonder if this fee would be dropped if Mr Ribbons is no longer part of the Promotion?
-
Why is it a funny old world when you get maybe two sets of people with differing opinions? It's a funny old world presumably when people on the Peterborough/Coventry threads are saying the decisions were democratic, but are on here complaining about a decision made democratically Don't see the funny side of it at all when people have different opinions. That is how the world is supposed to be in a healthy democratic society
-
I know and have already dealt with this point.Either you haven't read through the thread or you fail to understand i would guess it is past history and possibly personal fueds that has caused this Again see previous post as i have dealt with this point as well
-
That is a very good and reasonable post you know my name now.no need to keep repeating it for rmc or anyone else i think
-
Please point me to the part of any of my posts where i mention Wimbledon speedway in any shape or form? Doug MacFarlane
-
Now you are making silly if not stupid statements.I won't be trying to compete with you there.
-
A speedway term springs to mind......track record
-
I know. But they have stated it isn't allowed. And they haven't as far as i have seen posted something as imflamatory as this statement.Plus, you will generally find once in an organisation you can get away with more than if you are not.But maybe you can correct me if i am wrong on that as well......it is tough sometimes.Life is tough sometimes.Tell me about it.But if you rock the boat you can expect to get wet.....I just don't think this statement is going to do Mr Ribbons or Mildenhall speedway much good. And quite honestly i am more concerned with the latter than the former
-
If you are hoping to join an organisation you have to play by their rules.I think one of those is not to make public statements on forums.Correct me if i am wrong there though......So regardless of what you or i think it could be that if someone isn't going to play by the rules or is know not to then it won't be easy to join the club.Facts of life and as a business man or an employee you don't have to be Einstein to work out you have to play the game ,or as maybe Coventry are trying to do,take on the organisation.

Beat me too it Grachan.I know it is a highly charged thread and most people will be angry at losing another club. Most people will also be happy to lay the blame at the door of the BSPA.But maybe they are cautious of giving a Promoters licence to someone who comes ona forum and posts all the details in the open.I have seen a number of posts on this forum over the years which would make me cautious with Mr Ribbons.Sad though it is,maybe there are reasons for these conditions
-
Yes great to see a team being put together.Robert Irving is also lined up so i see.So good luck to all the guys

From Sweden maybe?
