  1. So often it seems one person or household can cause probelms for a track and thousands of fans.Pocking has had for years problems because of 1 woman(who was previously a speedway fan).Iwade has had problems for years with just one or maybe two people and i think Mildenhall have also recently had problems with one person!!!!!
  2. As i wrote....it was put on this thread. If one track has closed it is a problem.Nothing more, nothing less. And i do agree with the post PolskiZuzel put.Speedway has been marginalised and once one problem has gone people will move onto another. They will find one somewhere, sadly. The thing with those guys living by the motorway is similar. They knew the motorway was there when they moved. Now instead of just the noise they will get about 5 years of traffic chaos as the roof is put on the motorway. We will all suffer now as the speed limit will possibly be reduced down to 60kmh and the traffic will spread out onto the other roads to try and avoid delays. And now they are worried that the fumes will be funnelled out of the tunnels near their homes in greater concentrations than they were before.....
  3. Well those vuvuzela's were i think banned from the Bundesliga ....and those noise absorbing walls by the motorways aren't enough for some people.Next year here in Hamburg they will start putting a roof over some parts of the motorway to cut down the noise levels even further.A few years of total disruption and now the people living close by are worried about where the fumes from the "tunnels" will come out
  4. If only the issue was a British one.....unfortunatelly it isn't.As someone has posted it seems Sweden also has problems and a number of tracks in Germany also have had or are still having problems. In a lot of ways Poland is still playing "catch up" on modernity and all that goes with it.I also wonder if the Polish speedway authorities are suffering a little from the blinkered view that they are the b all and end all of speedway that caused Britain to suffer when they thought back in the 60s and 70s that they could call the shots.Times change and the sport needs to change with them And most of the speedway/greyhound tracks i have been to might not be in the centre of town, but they were in fairly residential areas(Wimbledon+Oxford for instance)
  5. Spot on.Pfingstmontag.Normaly a few big meetings around that holiday.Pfingstpokal in either Güstrow or Teterow.Plus the big Bergringrennen(more like piss up ) in Teterow Think if you look back over the years this is the monday Abensberg traditionally hold a big meeting
  6. Should have put the woman rider into the Finnish team.Imagine what that would have done if Finland managed to beat Sweden with a lady in the side
  7. Some fotos World Ice Racing Team Championship-Berlin Great weekend. Some nasty stuff happening out on the track that needs to be stamped out by the ref.Unfortunately Istvan Darago isn't the right person for that job.Really impressed by Mats Järf though. And despite carrying a couple of injuries Pletschacher had some good races as well. Both battled hard and entertained the crowd. No Conkers + no rain!! Wonder if that is a coincidence or not?
  8. Hmmmm I'll tell the waiter to put some extra hot chilli's on your pizza
  9. Regards tv coverage the World Championships,it seems that the Red Bull channel in Austria has coverage of the previous rounds and will transmit them along with the forthcoming rounds.Just seen that if you click on the second link on the page you can view the channel live.....so that looks promising TV dates Good to get the first meeting of the season under my belt last night.Pretty good racing from the top 6 or 7.Pletschacher was taken out spectacularly by Hendersson on the straight.Must have been very lucky the way he hit the bales and he was up in no time.Walking with a limp at the end,but i thought that was his lot for the weekend.Bauer a class above the rest and the team will miss his points if not his presence tomorrow
  10. That is a pity.It is a fact of life though that some young talent drop out for whatever reason.Patrick Tarp did for a while. And one of my favourites, Jonas Raun looked very good but gave up.
  11. You are not saying Porsing has retired are you?I only saw him ride a few weeks back in Herning. I would guess Claus Vissing. He will ride anywhere so he once told me...and i don't mean that negative at all.Great attitude
  12. Well you might find it hard to believe, but in this article it was in a sorry state(bits fallen off...)when it was loaned out.The guy who wrote the article got it back into shape. Winged Wheel
  13. Thought i read somewhere that the winged wheel(knocked together by Split Waterman i think..)was in a pretty poor state.Might have been an article on speedwayplus site
  14. It is 100% true.If you read my first post, i said off the top of my head, that from previous posts from the guy i would be very careful....a day or so later he had his post modded for libelous rantings.I mean if that didn't prove me right what would? And rmc +co seemed to disappear into thin air at that time after slagging me off for what i said
  15. I did get dogs abuse from certain quarters for suggesting he doesn't come over very well. And not one appology when i was pretty much proved right in a matter of a day or so.Come on down Mr rmc + co
  16. Yes.Disappointing that the Russian Final was online, but the World Championships weren't.Guess it is all down to which city the meetings are held and local stations or organisation
  17. He will just be doing Denmark,Sweden and Poland until his studies are finished. That is enough anyway i think.Just hope he goes well in the World and Euro meetings.Plenty of time for other things like Britain
  18. Nöööööö.I happen to like Nicki as well And he has a winning attitude.Mikkel B and Liglad have that as well. And i really had a good chat to Kenni Larsen. And Smoli has a great attitude to these meetings.Always tries to put on a show for the fans. But why does Egon always have to sing?????
  19. Exactly. The riders i talked to....and they were the young and hungry guys thought it was good, one even said they done a fantastic job getting it laid....i guess the older(Nicki not included here) you get the less risks you want to take.Even Egon Müller said they done a great job and the shape of the track was very good. Fotos from Herning
  20. Not wrong there mate.Zorn very disappointing.Maybe they can turn it around in Assen and Inzell a little. But all 8 Russians in the top 8....
  21. Well even more dropped out......but in all honesty,i quit enjoyed the meeting. From some who were at both, saturday night was far better,so maybe i made the right choice. Some good performances by the youngsters and Smoli providing his usual entertainment
  22. That's exactly my thoughts when Jacky told me the news in Herning
  23. No,i think i will travel up.They must have learnt from yesterdays mistakes surely????? The chance of Kylma on the podium might get me a front cover foto from Mr F-S-P
  24. Seems like Bauer is not riding for Germany in Berlin Wonder if this is to do with problems he has had in previous years with the team Or have i missed another reason?
