Wow!!! Parsloes might question your knowledge on Arsenal, but when it comes to obscure Americans at Rye yous da man

Have to say i paid €6 for 38 heats of speedway in Germany last weekend with a couple of heat sheets included in the price. That included 14 heats with the likes of a former German Champ and former U21 champ, plus lots of other classes down to 50cc.12 quid seems a bit steep.Only time will tell if people are willing to pay.A one-off meeting against some Americans is maybe do-able

Friend of mine sent me some pix of the building work in progress and saw some of the finished stadium a few days ago.My friends are off to the opening.I will have to wait a bit before i get there.Hope to see the Jancarz statue as well this time

Well i should see Jari in Stralsund.Unless he has learnt karate or the Finnish Army have trained him as a killing machine,i fancy my chances I might make the trip to Malmö,so they have a better chance there.3 against 1

Sand Blowers + Hyvinkää.It sounds more like Tellytubbies than speedway. Crazy country,i tell you

Sand Blowers???? Is that an official name or have you translated it?

Helped guide Kevin Wölberts career for a while,i seem to remember.Riding in the Bundesliga puts you on the slippery slope downwards.Another of the bright stars,Szombierski was supposedly riding here yesterday.Hlib was another who rode in the Bundesliga early on.....you have been warned -

Not sure about new silencers killing the sport. There doesn't seem to be much action in the Gorzow meeting.Zagar's cock up of the start being about the most exciting bit as he tried to get back through Take that back. The camera man knows where the excitement is.......the start girls bum -

Well not sure where to put this so i will use this thread......start of the season, time to leave the ice behind us and get out on the dirt.Absolutely super weather for the opening meeting here in the North and great to get back to Ludwigslust after a few years.Things have changed a bit.The old longtrack has now been converted to a MotoX track and they now have a good 80cc track, which i think was built for Dominik Möser to train on when he isn't riding in Denmark.Super days racing with action from the pee-wee 50cc's all the way through 125cc,250cc and the big boys on 500's.Some tearly season cobwebs needed to be brushed off as we had a starting marshall hold out a red flag when the red light wasn't on,the ref start a race when the red lights were still on and a rider being locked out of his race and then let into the next race....but all in all the track was in good shape and the riders too.Just a bit of a controvertial ending when the run-off for first place in the first round of the M-V Championship was turned into a show by Matze Schultz and Tobi Busch.Matze had been taken out earlier by Championship holder Roberto Haupt and was using one of Tobi's bikes. And both Stralsund team riders had agreed beforehand to put on a show.So rode side by side "battling away" for 4 laps before going over the line hand in hand. Some of the crowd loved it,so were none too pleased with a "circus" race.Beforehand there was said to be about 20 odd riders lined up for this, including Rafal Szombierski!!!.In the end only 12 managed to make it.Tobi unlucky in one heat as he got a flat on the last bend and tried to roll home for second, but in the end had to be urged to push over for third and the point.Matze Bartz also could have been in the run-off for first but hit trouble whilst in the lead, but had a good race to beat both Schultz and Busch fairly comfortably.Although Matze.S was maybe a bit shaken after his clash with Haupt at this stage and on borrowed maschinery Results 1.M.Schultz 9+3 2.T.Busch 9+2 3.M.Sekula(PL) 8+3 4.D.Wienke 8+2 5.R.Weis 7 6.S.Bromberg 6 7.M.Bartz 6 8.H.Koonstra(NL) 5 9.R.Haupt 4 10.S.Mauer 3 11.H.Röschke 3 12.H.Gast 2 250cc 1.A.Majewski -looked a class above the others i must say 2.J.Cipinski 3.O.Rykena 125cc 1.M.Michel 2.D.de Vries 3.L.Fienhage 50cc 1.L.Wegner 2.F.Gachka 3.M.Wiegert Saw the line up for the speedway/longtrack meeting that will be held over one weekend at Ludwigslust and Parchim.Very interesting to see if those guys turn up and ride longtrack.1 rider from GB and one Aussie on the list and not sure if they have done longtrack before....

Gullible folk, the Finns then

Not sure why you have picked out Brokstedt or Wolfslake.Personally i would rather see Kevin ride at Güstrow.Brokstedt is my local track. But it is a big(almost 400m)slick continental style track. Can be some good racing, but generally Güstrow(at around 300m) is far better. But each to their own.The 01.05 meeting is May bank holiday in Brokstedt and there will be a concert by Lotto King Karl on before the meeting.Should be quite a good day.Hope for a decent crowd of 3 or 4,000(maybe more is Lotto King Karl fans pack the place out The other plus point with Brokstedt is they usually have the pits open to the fans before and after the meeting. So you can mingle and talk to the riders.Güstrow isn't like that. The pits are pretty secure Talking to someone at todays meeting in Ludwigslust and he said he would definitely prefer Brokstedt to Wolfslake. And when i mentioned Güstrow then he agreed with me,that Güstrow is better than both the others

Truly terrible news to wake up to. I was watching the coverage on the net,but didn't realise anything bad had happened.Just thought they were having trouble repairing the fence as the camera was on a couple of track staff laughing and joking.Saw the bike being taken off... RIP Peter

Now it seems to have gone....but i think i did see Linda snapping away at the presentation

Handwriting experts have been called in,and apparently Mr Gollobs signature is a forgery. He has been for the new silencers all along
-
Isn't this the old problem of conning money out of Bydgoszcz council etc?Maybe his ex has come out with something new on that
-
Back home now and making myself a big cup of coffee, whilst Ian is probably still snoring away . Just want to correct Bavaria,as on both days the official crowd figure was given at 6,500 which can't be sniffed at.And there was definitely more than that in the stadium and also some left outside on saturday at least. Also must say it was good to bump into Reg Wilson, who also didn't have a ticket for saturday night. Was a great little rider and a big fan of ice racing. Also, with an extra western GP weekend next year maybe one or two of the non Russians can break into the top 8 again???? Reiterate Conkers that it was a great weekend and a big thanks to Lars for ferrying us around and giving us a nice little tour of the area on the saturday
-
I wanted to ask Jesper how she sounded when i heard it,but i was impressed. Must say i was pretty impressed with the new stadium. We were lucky anyway as it did rain a fair bit,so in the old stadium we would have got soaked And it was about the only speedway event i have been to over the past decade or two that was sold out a day before. There were even people from France!!!! with signs asking for tickets hours before the meeting started. When was the last time you saw that??? Plus i thought someone told me the stadium held 7,000.There were 650 people counted for the practice session on friday! One great heat when Krasnikov came from last to first made it all worthwhile.Racing at its very best

Lars + Jacky are in Inzell at the hotel and say it was a bright blue cloudless sky and +18°C!!!!!Not really Ice Racing weather mate, but they were in the Biergarten drinking away.I think we might be in for a good weekend if the weather stays like that

No idea.Stellingwerf maybe? Or Fürst/Lindström?
-
That's a real shame. After his performance in Berlin i was looking forward to seeing him again.Hope he comes back even better next year

Svemo do include Sweden amongst the countries that have noise issues. So why would he do that if there are no problems as Ghostwalker and tarabanko state?

Yes this could be the future.I know Egon Müller is doing development work on electric engines and i think if i remember our conversation right he wanted Smolinski to ride on one at the indoor meeting in Herning. But he is still having trouble with wheel spin/too much power...... Have to say that Egon isn't someone i would believe 100% though.I am sure before he started singing a song i had never heard in my life at Herning he stated it was "a big hit for me in England..."
