Noticed this a few weeks ago....have you recently bought a book on Poland? As after years of never mentioning it you an't stop going on about the Green Mountain town formerly known as Grünberg...not exactly sure why Bromberg got its name, but i guess we can start calling it the Blackberry Mountain town?

Cardiff Gp 2011 Entertainment
iris123 replied to robert72's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
One of the downsides of holding it in Cardiff. If you had the meeting at Wembley all the top stars would be after the gig.In Cardiff all you are going to get is someone who is looking to put the "as seen on tv" bit on their posters outside the working mens clubs -
He has held a Hungarian passport for a few years now. That was the controversy a number of years back when he didn't turn up for Poole as he was "supposedly" waiting for his passport to turn up in Italy(i think) so he could represent Hungary in the SWC.It didn't turn up and instead of hot footing it over to Eastbourne he turned up in North Germany for an open meeting

Mikkel has had problems with his bikes.Last week he told me he had blown 3 engines so far this season. All from the same tuner. And then the problem in the run-off with Porsing as well.Seems correct that Michael Palm Toft did break the track record. But like has so often been posted.A track record is just timed by a guy with a stop watch......but still impressive all the same.He knows it is almost a make or break season and seems to be really going for it.Someone like Newport could make a good signing there???

And i will be in my red & yellow for Wimbledon Did bump into a guy at a Danish 1st division meeting wearing a Birmingham jacket a few years back.Easy to spot when there were only about 40 people there. When i went up to talk to him it was "Whitey" wearing it + he was with Manuel Hauzinger But i have had that before with my friend Garf.Think it was the Danish Final at Outrup and he said he would be there wearing a yellow t-shirt.....and when i got there, there were about 30 or 40 guys wearing yellow t-shirts

So what is the latest with Loktajev.Last year it seemed the situation was decided he was a Russian riding ona Ukranian licence. But i see the Ukraine have announced him in their SWC team.My understanding is you need citizenship and not just a licence to represent a country or have i got that wrong? Seems from fishing around the Russian forum he might now have dual citizenship

Polish Extraleague Sunday 17th April
iris123 replied to racers and royals's topic in International World of Speedway
It is never easy with these things.I would guess even in Russia there are variations.Although when i have asked work colleagues from Russia and Kazakhstan they say there isn't much difference. But Sky commentators pronounciations of most of the Danish riders doesn't match with the names i hear being announced at the meetings -
Is that the forums very own "Anders"?

Ok.Brokstedt meetings normally start at 14:00.In the years i have been going i have only known one that didn't.They tried a friday evening meeting once. But the weather was poxy and the crowd was almost non-existent.So they never tried that again.Co-incidentally,Kevin was riding in that one as well.Must have been for Neuenknick. He would only have been about 16,but was about 1 or 2 seconds faster than all the other heat winners. Hope it all goes to plan for you and may even bump into you. There is often junior racing starting at about 11.And the brokstedt pits are normally open to all-comers.Which can cause problems for the riders + mechanics, but is good if you want to meet and talk to the riders

Yes.Not sure what time they start though.Think about 14:00 or 14:30
