Oh!!! So used to seeing all the beer being consumed in Germany + Denmark i thought Sweden would be the same. Some meetings i think the people are there as much for the beer as the speedway. In fact at Teterow for the grasstrack/speedway weekend,i think the racing comes a poor second to alcohol Good race from Nicolai Blooming pc takes forever to reply when i watch a stream
-
Sure there are loads of different opinions on this.Heard Lasse Bjerre has changed his FB name to Jensen .But it is more than form on UK tracks.Mikkel doesn't even ride over there. The bigger picture has to be seen. And i honestly don't think there would be much difference in points scored between Mads + Mikkel. But in development terms i think there is a world of difference to be had.And i applaud the way Denmark try to help the youngsters
-
I agree.I think i would get neck or back ache as well. But i just want to sit there and drink a beer and see a few heats Don't think i could see a whole meeting from there
-
One of my speedway ambitions is to sit at those tables and take in a meeting
-
Your input was always welcome.Even though i am also a Smederna fan,it is good to have the thoughts of other teams fans. The Swedish members here have always given a good insight into the sport there.Imo,probably the best group of foreign fans here.Pity we don't get much Danish input now.Garf seems to have left + Danishwebmaster + Peter S don't have much time i guess.Which only leaves Rasmus. Lovely weather in Sweden.Bit grey and wet here.Fingers crossed for tomorrow as i head up to Denmark for a Superliga meeting with some of my favourite riders.Nicki,Nicolai,Kevin Wölbert + a chance to see young Loktaev
-
Yes.That is the one.Moved from Kumla so i read earlier.Been wanting to go to the home of Smederna for years. This might be a very good chance.Even though i won't see the Blacksmiths.I can still buy some Smederna stuff in the shop
-
Yes.The one year Mikkel B was excluded by Jim Lawrence(i think) for going over the white line, when if i remeber rightly i had photo evidence that he didn't.I was only talking to him(well both Mikkels) about that again this year.Think he would have been Champ if he wasn't excluded there.Mybe my memory is playing up again though
-
Ha ha.The two Mikkel's(Michelsen + B.Jensen) have been my favourites for a few years now.If you had taken notice of any of my Danish 80cc posts, you might have known that .Along with Rene Bach,Kevin Wölbert,Nicolai Klindt and a few others I guess you have to feel slightly sorry for the likes of Kenni Arendt Larsen and Nicolai as they are certainly further up in the standings at the moment. But will they go much further,i guess is the question the selector(s) have asked.Mikkel B seems to be the one prospect at the moment who i can see getting to the top.Sadly,Mikkel M hasn't quite taken to 500cc the way he did to 80cc,but there is still time
-
Great stuff for Mikkel
-
Indeed. And i always like to keep track of the youngsters i have seen at the YGT for instance. And the Somerset team includes two young Aussies who appeared in Denmark.Masters + Davies. And of course added interest with Hefenbrock And just seen that the Euro U19 semi has been moved to Eskilstuna.Might be the right time to finally visit the home of my favourite Swedish team Sweden,Denmark,GB + Germany.Should be a great meeting
-
We must not forget our original Smederna contingent,Tarabanko + Zetters.Pity Liverstam has left us, to give a Hammarby point of view. But Anders' previews are the best imo Not sure if i will watch this or the PL tonight though.Spoilt for choice
-
I fear Nicki might get the blame for this one Not the dodgy link. The fall
-
It is so often different there in the flesh, rather than watching on tv.Vojens comes in for a lot of criticism, but the Danish fans are often "under the influence" and seem to have a good time regardless of the racing. All the more so if a Dane wins. From what you often hear, the Polish fans are also half cut and seem to enjoy the proceedings.Again all the more so if a Pole wins.If the racing is good that is a bonus. But i think we all agree it could be so much better. But as you say, that is a problem for speedway in general.I have watched some rubbish from England,Sweden and Poland this last week alone
-
I see on the DMU site that the new Danish manager is criticising the Diedenbergen track
-
Here is the thread on the Leszno meeting which was complete chaos. In one heat Crump was the only rider to finish. And they were fined.maybe you can even find archive video of the meeting from a few weeks before the GP.And it obviously wasn't the same "track" that you saw last year.So why has it changed?Things do change. Not always for the better Leszno Ekstraliga
-
Correct me if i am wrong(because it is possible i have mixed up the tracks),but i think you will find Leszno were fined by the PZM for preparing a dangerous track some weeks before the GP was held there. So they have been having problems this year, before the silencers and before the GP
-
So you think last years GP in Prague was better than this years?
-
I wasn't suggesting Belle Vue would get a GP in place of Cardiff. The talk was about an additional GP in Britain My thoughts were the SWC every few years wouldn't be enough for Belle Vue.

World Pairs Semi Finals - Rodenbach 26 May 1974

Think 8 for Uhlenbrock + 1 for Hehlert is correct and West Germany with a total of 9 is the right score.Quite interesting that West Germany were represented by two former East German riders. In fact a few years before they were team mates for MC Dynamo Rostock -

Guess it depends on where he is riding. But i have seen Nicki helping a team mate during a race.Pointing to them where he should be riding etc -

That is a bit unfair on Nicki.I have seen him help his partner on a number of occassions in the Danish League.I don't think Nicki is the best team man,but he isn't the worst either.I don't see him helping out people like Hans does or going out onto the track to see how a rider is after a crash, but he does team ride -
I imagine once the new stadium at Belle Vue is finished it will get a GP.But who knows whether the track will be a good one for racing or not
-
Sounds promising for Niko.Hope all goes well.Track sounds bad though.Never been there to know if it is always like that, but it does sound par for the course with German tracks.Güstrow being the exception(although i have heard good things about Teterow lately)in the North.
-
Forgot to mention Jan.Was very good + willing to admit when he saw things wrong.Hope we get him a few more times through the season
-
Yeah. There was some interest in the meeting. It wasn't good, but it was far from the worst GP we have suffered in the last 4 or 5 years. And it was no worse than some of the other meetings such as EL or Polish stuff.Watched a few dreary Swedish meetings as well this week. And i thought it was Ermolenko that said it doesn't matter if it is slick or grippy at Prague it is still usually first out of the gate wins. You know what you are going to get at Prague, which is why i wouldn't bother going to a GP there
