Not sure that is what i'll be hoping for,but it would be what you might expect from the GP Challenge. That the riders who qualify just ain't up to it.I do hope he manages to get his career back on track as a few years back he was quite exciting and had people around Europe talking about him positively

Nathan Greaves & Robert Lambert
iris123 replied to cometsfan2k4's topic in Youth Speedway and Development Leagues
Really big test for Robert coming up at Norden.Coming up against a very tough international line-up.Looking forward to seeing how he does in this one http://www.speedway.org/renntermine/2012/norden/index.html -
Big,but pleasant surprise that Brokstedt could get an away win in Bavaria.Landshut let down by Gafurovs problems in his first few heats,but great stuff from Zetterström,Borudulin + Tobi with vital points from Max + Matten.Looking very open this year Landshut 42 M.Smolinski (2,1',1,3,3,3)13+1 R.Gafurov (e.f,e.f,e.f,3,2',3)8+1 T.Lahti (2,2,6,1,0,e.f)11 M.Helfer (1',1,0,3,1,0)6+1 M.Sekula (2,1,1,0)4 Brokstedt 45 M.Zetterström (3,3,3,3,2,1')15+1 V.Borudulin (1,3,2',2,2',2)12+2 M.Dilger (0,0,2,0,1',1')4+2 T.Kroner (3,3,2',f.x,1,2)11+1 M.Kröger (1,0,2,f)3

Can't say much as i have only watched the Final and of course happy Nicki won,but from the gate usual stuff. Not really a favourite track which is why i couldn't be bothered watching it.You just knew all the talk of improvements wasn't going to come off.Maybe next year? As for the crowd well i am sure Humphrey will tell us how bad it was.But we will probably get 8,000 at Teterow for the Bank Holiday meeting in the middle of nowhere......
-
You deserve one Peter for sure.See you later i hope + Good Luck for Simon Baptism of fire for Jonas last night. Not sure how many heats he rode in,but it seemed like at least half
-
Agree on that
-
Sincerely hope none of these riders are riding at Esbjerg tomorrow morning at 10:15 in the Div 1 meeting!!!!!
-
Exactly......had a similar experience for a Danish 80cc Final a few years ago.Turned out Skaerbaek had forgotten to book a Doctor for the meeting. So realising their mistake quite late they had to ring round Denmark on a sunday afternoon........this meant more than an hours delay to the meeting. And the rain started just as the riders came out.Slowly at first and just got heavier........got through the meeting, but it wasn't much of a spectacle.Luckily no-one was injured, but the youngsters are pretty fearless and tend to ride in conditions their older counterparts wouldn't
-
Often havelong delays in Denmark waiting for an ambulance to get back to the track.A few years ago now they had to decide either cancel the meeting or tell the fans to leave so they could continue.According to Peter S from Slangerup the ambulance is actaully there for crowd safety rather than ridersafety. The meeting can continue without an ambulance as long as no fans are in the stadium! Up early tomorrow to go first to Vojens to see the stars of the future including young Australian/Dane Jason Jorgensen, son of former Coventry rider John. Then probably up to Holsted for 1.division meeting.

Water truck always goes round even when it doesn't water the track. It packs the shale down.....
-
Steven Andersen was a pretty promising rider himself until he had a bad crash and that seemed to knock his confidence and was never the same after.Gave up fairly early, but i still have one of his caps Jonas will come up against Nicki Barrett, the man who pipped him to the Youth Gold Trophy in Eskilstuna.Jonas i think i am right in saying went through the whole tournament unbeaten up until the Final.Very unfortunate and i must say i am glad they done away with the Final heat after seeing René Bach beaten to a title he deserved by Michael Palm Toft after the heat was re-run twice .I think our man in Eskilstuna,Tarabanko was there that day and say's Jonas was very unlucky

Ha ha,bit of an echo Still good to know we agree,so if i am wrong we both are

Tonights meeting has something interesting for me.The return of Jonas Raun after a break of a few years.Always a super rider when he was with Holsted.Hope he has sorted himself out and can now finally fullfill the potential that he certainly has. Outrup Grzegorz Walasek Kenni Larsen Mads Korneliussen Claes Nedermark Jonas Raun Slangerup Grzegorz Zengota Kenneth Hansen Mikkel Michelsen Nicki Barrett Kenni Nissen Again i think this is going to be tough for Slangerup although Jonas will be an unknown for Outrup
-
From the reports i have read it was the first home loss for 7years!!! Obviously a mistake to go without an A grade rider for what ever reason.Maybe complacency after all that time. But Barrett and Nissen are inconsistent and Monberg is never going to be a match for Andersen,so it was risky

Lakeside Under 21 World Cup Qualifier
iris123 replied to eguin's topic in International World of Speedway
Agree with those above, that this will be a very tough task indeed.Guess the thing in GBs favour is theCzechs and toa degree the Danes wouldn't have riddenLakeside much if at all.But a couple of the Czech team done well in the U21 quali last week so won't be push overs. And they generally come out and attack tracks, even if they sometimes go flying into the fence(remember Kus in Vojens for instance).Realisticly i think 3 rd place, but hope for more -

Bit late tonight.Guess i have missed ....not much probably. But this does show why i couldn't see the Danish clubs like Slangerup competing in the proposed Euro League.Slangerup would have been one of the teams and just imagine what they would have needed to spend to get up to strengtheven with a 6man Polish orSwedish team.Unless of courseyou ask the Poles and Swedes to destrengthen and then that just wouldn't attract the fans.I really fins it hard to believe it can work
-
Good quality streams available and i quite like the commentator. Not over doing things or trying to take centre stage and also so far no sayings that get on yer nerves.Thumbs up from me.Also like the way the 80cc track is off centre so they can use the same starting gate.In Denmark they are usually centered in the middle so they need to set up a gate in another position

Well i can't take any credit away from you,but i did address a question to Rasmus terkelsen on here about a month ago asking for details.Guess he never saw my question and then i forgot all about it until you started the thread. http://www.speedway-...showtopic=69503 And same for me.I once planned a trip to Slangerup the day after a Parken GP,but my girlfriend at the time got all moody,so that was that. Oh i hadn't heard about tonights cancellation......bugger,that makes for problems.I am certainly hoping to make it up for the Final at Holsted.Maybe i can also make the semi if it is this week or weekend.Just seen the semi is planned for next tuesday!!!!!

I have posted a few times here about the first time i saw him. There was an article on the web someone posted saying this new Danish super talent was making his debut on 500cc.I went up to Vojens for a 1.Division meeting and he was riding......watching with interest he was left a bit at the gate then in onemove went past 2,maybe all of the others on the first bend.I was thinking wow this kid is as good as they were saying. Then over the next few laps everyone passed him and that was that......
-
Tough for anyone who is behind in fairness. When Bjerre was at the back i was thinking "Ok we should see some passing..."but he couldn't do anything Think yes,for league meetings the crowd is fairly mature, but the big meetings like GPs and SWC are quite full with younger people having a good night out and drinking large quantities of alcohol
-
Well apart from when i went up to Esbjerg for the Danish semi-final.And what happened the next day was called a scandal by one or two.And i did talk to Mikkel B last week about it and got his views.Tomorrow is the re-staging.Fingers crossed Mikkel gets through

Yes.I guess for me,when i have travelled 250km then they all seem fairly close to each other.Obviously for me Vojens was the best situated track. But i think it was on my visit to grindsted that i had one bit of luck.First visit to the automated petrol stations where there is nobody working. Was totally confused.I don't know why really and pressed the wrong number pump. Was wondering why i was getting no petrol. Then a guy at the pump behind me had obviously put it more money than me and only got a little bit of petrol.Rang up the service hotline, complained and drove off.I wasstill wondering what happened to my petrol and decided to check all the pump.Went to the one he had been at and therewas petrol.Filled my bike and the canister from my top box and there was still petrol to be had!!!I had obvioulsy pressed his number pump, just before he did.So he got my 50kr and i got his whatever......Should try that one again
