Yes,each to their own.They all have to try and find the system that suits their circumstances.Cameron for instance was out in WA with relatively little opposition and chose to come over to Denmark to test himself on 80cc.This year Brady Kurtz is doing the same thing.Like i said,some kids from germany choose that route too.Dominik Möser for instance i think lives there now for the past few years.But some foreign riders choose to come to Germany to better their skills.It isn't one size fits all

Think it is a similar story around Europe apart from GB.Thing is in most places speedway thrives it is a town/city without any other big sporting team,mainly of course football team.In Britain it is hard to find a big town or city without a football team of a decent size.I remember back when i first went to Güstrow and the place was crumbling.They had eventually sectioned off a bit of the terracing as a hole had developed in it.Toilets were a line of Dixieklos(portable things,normally blocked up and generally nasty).But year upon year they have upgraded the facilities.New terracing,new floodlights....talking to the boss during the winter he was positively surprised at how many volunteers were turning up at the weekend to help out.They put a new fence in,done the pits up and built a new clubhouse and 8,000 turned up at the weekend.Not sure about neighbouring Teterow,but when i last went there a few years back they had a great drawing of their planned stadium which looked impressive.Maybe pie in the sky.Also going to Esbjerg a few weeks back i remembered when i first went there.Just a grass bank with a small wooden shed for the ref and a slightly bigger shed for the shop and space for maybe 30 or 40 people to stand under the roof for shelter.Now they have proper terracing,new buildings for shop,toilets,changing rooms etc.Holsted pretty much the same improvements....

Not sure it is really relevant to use riders from 30 or 40 years ago as examples.Most of those guys had a decent level of competition on the grass track scene(not sure about Craven..)which just isn't there nowadays by all accounts.Times have changed

There are some great individual meetings in Poland through the season.The Jancarz Memorial meeting in Gorzów is another fantastic line-up normally. Like uk_martin,i have sometimes looked for a full fixture list and failed.It is a case of trawling through the individual clubs websites.For me not too great a problem as i am really only going to travel to those near the German border.But like Pawel mentions there is an awful lot of meetings apart from league stuff.Thursdays is or used to be the day for the junior leagues.Must admit though i haven't looked much since Kevin Wölbert finished riding in that

I understand the concern with injury.There was an incident(i think in Germany,but not 100% sure now)at a MotoX track.Think kids were training and one fell or had bike trouble on the blind side of a jump and as he was trying to get his bike going again an adult came full pelt over and landed with his bike on the youngster.The outcry from some and i guess rightly so was "What was an adult doing on the track?" It does seem the norm though for talented youngsters to ride in adult competition.The Dryml Brothers came here because they weren't allowed to ride in CZ at the time.Kevin Wölbert and his peers all rode.Think Max Dilger was the or one of the youngest to ride in the Bundesliga at 14.It doesn't do the Danes any harm to stay on 80cc bikes until they are 16,but each country chooses their own route.80cc isn't really officially sanctioned here,so some kids choose to ride in Denmark instead.Some kids choose to come here and ride in the German system.We also have the young Russian talent Arslan Fayzullin riding regularly in the junior comps here.I imagine Roberts parents have thought long and hard about what is best for him.I certainly hope to see him sometime soon and hope his development carries on the way it is going so far.There have been many many promising kids who haven't made the grade in all sports.Speedway is no different.But we badly need a new superstar to come through.If it happens to be through the German system,super.It won't suit everyone and it isn't certain to produce any more stars,just like the Danes or Swedes have periods when they fail to produce a world beater with their 80cc system

Yes,i was really looking forward to seeing him.Sure he was in Güstrow last year,but didn't make much impact.Seem to remember him always with a big smile.....Stralsund last year.Also thought Nieminen was supposed to be in Germany(Teterow or Güstrow)this weekend.....another with a lovely smile Seeing as you are a rules man,just how few riders can a team turn up with in Abensberg etc?Guess you can't just turn up with 2 riders and enter?

Yes,i was amazed to see that result.Unfortunately i was at a big meeting on the other side of Germany and have still to see Robert live.To beat the riders he did takes some doing.Respect.Just have to hope he doesn't go the way of Zabik for instance,who was a rider a few on here were tipping as a future World Champ a few years back.......Early days,but it is looking very good atm

Ahh....that's what all the polish stuff was about.Obviously not as good as Hauzinger.He told his Polish club he didn't have time for all that rubbish,going and practicing to show he was good enough And maybe you have been reading my posts as i mentioned another rider was asked to do that,but told the Poles he didn't have time.They got beat and the next week he was told to just turn up for the meeting and he would be riding

I was away for a few days by the Baltic sea enjoying the sea,sun,bar-b-que and beach babes...... hmmmm must say it was quite a mix of babes and biiiig girls!Anyway couldn't help you much with that order.Strangely we don't get much Stella or Oranjeboom or even what i usedto love in London,Hoegaarden(think it was).We can get Guinness,Killkenny,Newcastle Brown Ale, even Bulmers Cider,but nothing really from neighbouring countries like Belgium,Netherlands or France.In the other direction though they stock Staraporamen + Pilsen from CZ + a few Polish or even Russian beers,but of course being in the land of beer it is mostly German products on sale.I am lately enjoying the Dithmarscher Maibock.Only produced for spring and then they do a super winterbock around about November Oh and Timo wasn't there in Güstrow!!! Guess the Finns asked him not to risk injury or they wouldn't have had a team at all in Abensberg?

I'd agree.Not really worth travelling up for imo.I think at 1,4+5 Holsted are stronger and debatable with the other two positions,but wouldn't surprise me if at least another one they are stronger.

Must be a change in the Denmark team as Nicklas Porsing tells me he is riding Ok,seen the report on the DMU site.Leicester have refused to release Lasse from their saturday night meeting(against an agreement between the DMU + BSPA)So manager Anders Secher won't risk having a rider injured the night before a big meeting and has brought Nicklas into the team

The Danes are all(never spoken to Thomas,but imagine what with his time at Scunny)very good at english and i can vouch for Mikkel at least,very friendly as well

It is one thing signing for a team,another actually getting to ride in a meeting.Nanna Jörgensen signed up for tarnow,i think it was,but stood no chance of turning out for them.Let's hope this works out,but lots of riders are asked to turn up for practice to see how they go.I know of a couple who have refused to do this.One could afford to sit backand watch his team struggle before being told he didn't have to bother with practice,just turn up on the day.The other i think had a similar situation happen as it was too far for him to turn up without confirmation he would be in the team

Super.Thanks for the info And personally i am not so pessimistic.I would say that Kyle and Richie have the relativelyeasier semi and stand a reasonable chance of qualifying if they have a good meeting
