Lakeside Under 21 World Cup Qualifier

Must be a change in the Denmark team as Nicklas Porsing tells me he is riding Ok,seen the report on the DMU site.Leicester have refused to release Lasse from their saturday night meeting(against an agreement between the DMU + BSPA)So manager Anders Secher won't risk having a rider injured the night before a big meeting and has brought Nicklas into the team -
The Danes are all(never spoken to Thomas, but imagine what with his time at Scunny)very good at english and i can vouch for Mikkel at least, very friendly as well

It is one thing signing for a team, another actually getting to ride in a meeting.Nanna Jörgensen signed up for tarnow,i think it was,but stood no chance of turning out for them.Let's hope this works out,but lots of riders are asked to turn up for practice to see how they go.I know of a couple who have refused to do this. One could afford to sit backand watch his team struggle before being told he didn't have to bother with practice, just turn up on the day.The other i think had a similar situation happen as it was too far for him to turn up without confirmation he would be in the team -
Super. Thanks for the info And personally i am not so pessimistic.I would say that Kyle and Richie have the relativelyeasier semi and stand a reasonable chance of qualifying if they have a good meeting

Jensen sure. Not so sure with Kildemand. For some reason he is a rider i haven't seen much of and when i have he hasn't been great.Always seemed to have a super record at Fjelsted but no so good elsewhere. But in the past couple of seasons in the UK he does seem to have come on in leaps and bounds.Still think his reputation in Denmark is maybe not so good as in GB,but if he carries on and produces good results elsewhere then he has to be a contender.René.....well,i have always rated him highly.I did recommend him to Newcastle before he came over to England and there was a thread on here years ago about GP riders ofthe future and i mentioned René.Doesn't look like he will be as good as i thought though sadly.I think he will just be another Korneliussen or Gjedde in international terms.Pity,as i would love to see him move up a level, but in Denmark there is always another youngster coming through....John Jörgensens son forone is a pretty exciting prospect

Well i think they way the season is going Bjerre and Bjarne will probably be dropped from the Danish SWC team. Both LiGlad and Madsen should be given a spot before them both and i am no big fan of Leon.Bjerre has missed out on a chance to qualify because of his poor performance in the first round ofthe Danish Final,so has to get an automatic spot or miss out on the GPs next year. And he has set himself a goal of being World Champ in 2014,so that is going to be pretty hard.Bjarne has been in and out the last few years and to be honest was dropped from the Danish team for Nikolai Klindt (i think) a few years back and is lucky to still be involved.Shame really that neither Nikolai or Patrick Hougaard have really developed, but the young guys are coming through now.Mikkel B 's performance in the GP and LiGlads results this year suggets there area few guys ready to take over from Hans,Bjarne and Kenneth(though as i have posted elsewhere i do think maybe team problems might be the cause of his poor form).Having said that i do think there are inherent problems with Team Bjerre that can't easily be solved

Ooh.Now that looks like a stadium + crowd we can all relate to I was born near and my sister still lives near Vauxhall in London. Now a long time ago a Russian delegation came over to London to see the railway system and were taken to Vauxhall. This then became the name given to train stations in Russia.Little known fact and i often astound my Russian friends when i tell them that
-
Thanks for that.My contact in Ufa told me there was no speedway in Kamensk, but said there were plans to build a track in Ufa to replace the old stadium where her father rode.Guess a lot of these are the same tracks that are used for Ice racing?

Watching Tarnow and having sometime in the last week or so also seen a rider with MSJ(sure it was) whatever happened to the guy?He was sponsoring a number of riders and acting as their agent i think.Taking over speedway a bit and from what i heard treading on at least one persons toes. But he seems to have disappeared from the scene.......remember Patrick Hougaard,Tobi Busch and even the gorgeous Nanna Jörgensen being in his camp Oh and finally a decent meeting from Poland

World Under 21 Qualifying Rounds
iris123 replied to MrMungo's topic in International World of Speedway
I'd agree with you to an extent.Of course if a rider wants to he will do it.That is what the FIm is exploiting. The fact is more and more is being asked of juniors at this level.I really can't see many being able to follow in the GP footsteps and do 7 finals, plus all the other meetings at this stage of their career. It is a sad reflection of the sport that riders from Finland + Norway couldn't turn up.Saying that,i was talking a few years back to an ex rider from Australia who now has a son riding and he said riders shouldn't always look to their federation for support, they should get out and make thingshappen themselves.Having said that,he also said that when he was riding he also expected the MA(?) to do a lot for him.Somehow a balance needs to be found. It is great for the big competitions to be shared out around the speedway world. But it should only expand with the funds available.Fans also are not that interested in U21 meetings.I was at for example a Denmark v Sweden and a Sweden v Denmark U21 test with Klindt,Madsen,Hougaard,Alden,Forsberg etc and it was one man and a dog.I was at a Nordic U21 Final with Möller,Lindbäck,Alden and Lindgren(?)etc and the crowd was minimal.Last years U21 Final round at Holsted was 1,000 or so.....about the same or less than a Superliga meeting... -
