  1. Wow,that is an amazing post Peter  ....that is the extreme, but i have had problems posting here lately with quotes coming up double and smileys as well, etc.
  2. I agree and disagree.I do think his decision not to enter was down to other matters.Guess it would have been impossible for him to make friday practice for a few GPs and like you say it could have been that he had to miss a few GPs as well. That said,i think it was a wise decision to make and not only for himself, but the GP organisers too.So rather than punish him,i think he should get a wild card.
  3. Finally got round to looking at all the results and one things strikes me as very strange...... Of the host countries with home riders,we have Germany(Güstrow)-2 riders in the meeting GB(Berwick)-2 riders Poland(Tarnow)-3 riders Austria(St.Johann)-2 riders Hungary(Miskolc)-6!!!! riders What is even stranger is that Hungary didn't have any riders in any of the other meetings. What is that all about????
  4. If i read that correctly there is a wolf in sheeps clothing among the competitors there!!! How does a New Zealander compete in the British Championship??? Well done to young Bradley and all the other youngsters.Look forward to seeing some compete against our young German lad Robert Lambert :P
  5. Short tv report from Güstrow http://www.ndr.de/flash/mediathek/mediathek.html?broadcastid=30
  6. Well a German journalist has criticised the plans. He doubts any of the clubs will have transparency of finances or that they won't hand over a packed brown envelope to the riders that they want http://www.speedweek.de/art_26275.html I also was talking to him last night about the fairly uneven draws for the GP qualifiers, where one or two are much harder than others.Unbelievably stronger line-ups.Well i wait for him to put that one online......
  7. Really enjoyable meeting. The rain held off mostly, but drove back through a storm. So was pretty lucky it missed Güstrow.Thought Kennett was unlucky to be excluded in his first heat when in second which would have set him up nicely.Good crowd of 3,000 considering the weather. Here is the run-off for 3rd Lot of very good heats and individual performances, but i think a special mention should go to Ty Procter. He really tried his heart out and made some good moves, not really reflected in his score
  8. Thanks.Should have 5 hours(if that makes a difference ),but i guess it depends on how long and how many times a rider can practice. If like the Bundesliga meeting last week riders have two sessions then that can bugger the track up.Like it did last week. But if they just have a 5 minute session then hopefully not much damage will be done.Guess it is so late to give all the riders riding last night a fair chance to get there...
  9. Practice just about to start in Güstrow.Wet,but theysay at this stage it is ok for the track and they are "confident" that it will be dry later! Hope so,am setting off in a hour or so.Fingers crossed for a great meeting. At least imo Güstrow is the best prepared track in the north,so if anyone has a chance with bad weather, then they do
  10. Weather in North Germany not good, but hope Güstrow is covered and we can get a meeting later. If not, tomorrow looks perfect.Güstrow is just under Rostock http://www.ndr.de/regional/wetter/index.html
  11. The big surprise is why no Bjerre in the quali's.Doesn't look like he is going to make the cut and now they are nominating a rider who said he didn't want to be considered for the GP quali's ahead of Bjerre.Maybe after last weeks meeting in Parken Mikkel B has had a change of mind. But i'd guess Bjerre is feelling snubbed.
  12. As i suspected Claus isn't back.Good news for me is he is replaced by Mikkel B
  13. Another tough line-up for Robert in just over a week.Think myself they could have paired Robert with a more experienced or better rider than Mochner! Also a bit weird that they have an "English" pairing of Allen + Doyle ,but we already know that Robert is riding with a German licence so rides in a German pairing http://www.speedway.org/renntermine/2012/teterow/index.html
  14. Thanks Arnie.Casper Olsen, the mini Crump? Think it is him with his ginger hair and outfit almost identical to Jason. There are a number of impressive riders in the team.Young Jason is the one i find exciting. He really does attack the track and manages to pass riders.Of the Swedes i think i have only seen Wennerstam,so almost completely unknown to me.Hope it was an enjoyable meeting despite the one sided score line
  15. Nicki goes sometimes years without being beaten at Holsted.Think i was there when Klindt was the first to beat him in a league meeting at Holsted in a 3 or 4 year period
  16. Thanks.Have to, seeing as my local track(30 miles or so)only stages two or three meetings per season.Tried Longtrack a few times, but it didn't do anything for me.So it means travelling tothe old East Germany or over the border to Denmark.Missed the good times when there were big meetings at my local track or when there was a "European league" when Danish,Swedish and the one German team(Güstrow) rode in a league....
  17. For big meetings because the entrance is on the 3rd turn the crowd is generally about 50/50 third/fourth turn + back straight-home straight and first bend split. It means you have to walk the whole way around the stadium to get under the cameras and there is just a shop and the view of the pits,so no seats etc.In fact since they have built the new bar on the back straight the facilities there are better. Holsted is in fact twinned or has a friendship with German team Güstrow for years now
  18. Just seen that Timo rode in Poland and got zero!!!! And our young German/Pole got 3 points the previous week.....oh dear!!!!
  19. Couple of question marks over Güstrow.First, is Vissing fit?Asked in Denmark a while back but got no answer.Second is will Tungate be riding?Seems in Germany we now have Procter listed!!! Mistake?????Fingers crossed for good weather.Saw heavy showers being forecast yesterday.....
  20. They could take a leaf out of the restaurant game and do a pay what you can afford deal.Or even better pay after the meeting on your way out, what you think it was worth......
  21. Think it was PhilK a few weeks ago who said he wouldn't be surprised if Robert gave the NL a miss and waited until he was old enough for the PL/EL.I wouldn't be surprised if PhilK's hunch was correct
  22. Just a small note added here.Over the weekend Denmark beat Sweden in two 80cc test matches. The first in Slangerup was 78-30.The second meeting the next day in Malmö wasn't quite so easy.Denmark won 71-36
  23. Must say i had a good long chat with Robert + his parents at the weekend and found them very pleasant. Can't say i saw anything like a big ego or bad attitude.Obviously if someone does better than those around them they will get some jealousy and nasty comments.I remember Arthur Sissis' father telling me similar things.I do think they have thought the situation over and decided on what they think will be best for Robert both from a development and also safety aspect
  24. Bit of a joke. And you can understand why one of our best youngsters seems to have turned his back on the BSPA and does his riding in Germany with decisions like this
  25. Funny, his brother has just posted that he is thinking of where to ride in England......
