  1. Thanks.Have to, seeing as my local track(30 miles or so)only stages two or three meetings per season.Tried Longtrack a few times, but it didn't do anything for me.So it means travelling tothe old East Germany or over the border to Denmark.Missed the good times when there were big meetings at my local track or when there was a "European league" when Danish,Swedish and the one German team(Güstrow) rode in a league....
  2. For big meetings because the entrance is on the 3rd turn the crowd is generally about 50/50 third/fourth turn + back straight-home straight and first bend split. It means you have to walk the whole way around the stadium to get under the cameras and there is just a shop and the view of the pits,so no seats etc.In fact since they have built the new bar on the back straight the facilities there are better. Holsted is in fact twinned or has a friendship with German team Güstrow for years now
  3. Just seen that Timo rode in Poland and got zero!!!! And our young German/Pole got 3 points the previous week.....oh dear!!!!
  4. Couple of question marks over Güstrow.First, is Vissing fit?Asked in Denmark a while back but got no answer.Second is will Tungate be riding?Seems in Germany we now have Procter listed!!! Mistake?????Fingers crossed for good weather.Saw heavy showers being forecast yesterday.....
  5. They could take a leaf out of the restaurant game and do a pay what you can afford deal.Or even better pay after the meeting on your way out, what you think it was worth......
  6. Think it was PhilK a few weeks ago who said he wouldn't be surprised if Robert gave the NL a miss and waited until he was old enough for the PL/EL.I wouldn't be surprised if PhilK's hunch was correct
  7. Just a small note added here.Over the weekend Denmark beat Sweden in two 80cc test matches. The first in Slangerup was 78-30.The second meeting the next day in Malmö wasn't quite so easy.Denmark won 71-36
  8. Must say i had a good long chat with Robert + his parents at the weekend and found them very pleasant. Can't say i saw anything like a big ego or bad attitude.Obviously if someone does better than those around them they will get some jealousy and nasty comments.I remember Arthur Sissis' father telling me similar things.I do think they have thought the situation over and decided on what they think will be best for Robert both from a development and also safety aspect

Pawlicki, Dudek, Monberg 2:4 Lauf 2: Loktajev, Huckenbeck, Busch,Pi.Pawlicki 1:5 (3:9) Lauf 3: Monberg, Dudek, Schultz, Mell 4:2 (7:11) Lauf 4: Prz.Pawlicki, Jedrzejak, Huckenbeck, Pi.Pawlicki (EX) 3:3 (10:14) Lauf 5: Dudek, Busch, Loktajev, Monberg 2:4 (12:18) Lauf 6: Pi.Pawlicki, Schultz, Huckenbeck, Mell 5:1 (17:19) Lauf 7: Busch, Prz.Pawlicki, Loktajev, Jedrzejak 5:1 (22:20) Lauf 8: Monberg, Dudek, Pi.Pawlicki, Huckenbeck (Sturz/EX) 4:2 (26:22) Lauf 9: Loktajev, Schultz, Busch, Mell 3:3 (29:25) Lauf 10: Dudek, Jedrzejak, Schultz, Busch (Ausfall) 1:5 (30:30) Lauf 11: Prz.Pawlicki, Loktajev, Monberg, Mell 4:2 (34:32) Lauf 12: Pi.Pawlicki, Prz.Pawlicki, Jedrzejak, Huckenbeck (Sturz/EX) 5:1 (39:33) Lauf 13: Monberg, Jedrzejak, Busch, Huckenbeck (Ausfall) 4:2 (43:35) Lauf 14: Prz.Pawlicki, Dudek, Pi.Pawlicki, Loktajev (Ausfall) 4:2 (47:37) Bit of a disappointing meeting given the line-up.Pawlicki brothers were held up at the polish/german border for a bit because of extra security for the Euro Football Championships,so missed the morning training etc. Then the fun started.First in heat 4 Tobi Busch was wrongly sent out for the heat which he duly won and then of course was excluded. The next heat Jesper B lost his steel shoe digging up the start gate and trying to get it back on his bike died. Then ensued a race against time to get his shoe on and his bike started, which he lost!Put Stralsund under some pressure at the beggining, but they came through in the end.And with the track breaking up and some very big holes developing and some rather large stones(more like rocks!!!) coming out it was hard to negotiate the track.Best race of the day was a great last heat between the Pawlicki brothers and the other world U21 finalists,Loktaev and Dudek. That was fantastic.Other than that the real worthwhile moments came watching young Englander Robert Lambert who was lightning out of the gate and made mincemeat of the i was told 18-21 year old German opposition.Really, after the first bend he was so far in front it was unreal!!!! Can only say ,wow. One to look out for in the future and it looks like for the next few years his future is in Germany Ht 14 and you can see both Dudek and pawlicki hit holes in the track, but carried on as if nothing had happened
  10. First time seeing Robert live today in Stralsund and he was a fair bit better than the other German U21 riders. So fast out of the gate it was hard to believe and it was really all over by the first bend in every one of his heats he was that far in front........wow!!!!!
  11. Denmark beat Poland in Opole to go through to the Final in Germany.Mikkel B with a max and Mikkel M was on a max when his bike packed up in ht 14.Poland also go through to the final as best runners up seeing as the first semi was a bit more even.Czecho were in the meeting, but not in the competition as such as they already rode in the first semi and were replacing GB in this one http://www.speedway.org/speedway-u19-team-em/2012/index.html
  12. I agree, but you stated we need to break it down to 50s,60s,70s etc.I don't think that is quite neccesary. Pre war is a different world, but i think we can safely say Ronnie Moore or even Geoff Mardon are better than anyone from NZ over the past 20 or so years
  13. You are allowed to ride 500s when you are 14 here. The Dryml brothers rode here before they were allowed to do so in Czecho.Max Dilger and a few others i think mad their Bundesliga debut at 14. Here is Roberts win against Smolinski from a few weeks back.Hopefully i am going to see him ride here tomorrow in the U21s
  14. Looking on the web yesterday it seems Jesper B is quite angry with how he has been dropped by Slangerup and also Peterborough. Not that he has been dropped, but how it was done.Should be really stoked up tomorrow for Stralsund then
  15. Glad everyone seems ok.I was one of the people who saw the news yesterday on Facebook.Well i saw the photo of the overturned bus put up by zetters, but didn't know who was involved or what happened.Just saw a comment in english "talk to me stephen" then the rest was in Swedish.I actually thought zetters came across the bus and took a photo.Close call and very lucky, especially those that even got to see the speedway :t:
  16. Tony, first you say Zenon would agree with a list of riders spanning the 60s to the Noughties, then say it is futile and we need to break it down into decades!!! I would have thought having an answer from Zenon that you posed just the same question that has been asked here?
  17. You can follow the progress of 14 year old British rider Robert Lambert in the German Open live from Olching http://www.speedway-...pen-in-olching/
  18. You can follow Roberts progress in todays meeting live.Just a bit of a problem with the airfence at the mo,but should all be starting soon http://www.speedway-forum.de/board51-live-updates/board52-live-aus-deutschland/7032-live-update-von-german-open-in-olching/
  19. Just got a delivery from Suomi.....thanks mate.Great stuff.Owe you a couple of Stella's
  20. Well it was long before you got into the sport when Boogaloo was riding over in GB,but seeing as he is generally thought of as one of the best riders never to have made a world final and is still racing,i would give it to him :t:
  21. Just got in,so seen nothing, but even i have met Anders
  22. Live updates are available http://speedwaylive.se/
  23. Thought the same when i saw who he was lining up against in Norden.I really thought he'd be lucky with 2 or 3 points. Now who knows?I mean, not only is it hardly worth him riding against U15s,it is almost as if the German U21s is too easy for him!!!And to put it into some context the guy who finished 10th in last years German U21 comp made his debut last weekend in the Polish Elite League at 18 years old.I would already put Robert ahead of him.If he carries on like this he will hit the floor running when he is 16/17.I remember Emil Saifutdinov entered and qualified for the European Junior Final when he was under age and couldn't ride in the Final.Robert is heading for something like that as well if he keeps out of trouble
  24. Great looking line-up boosted by the appearance in the U21s of young British talent 14 year old Robert Lambert.Means i'll have to set off from Hamburg a few hours earlier than i wanted....but hey such is life Stralsund Pr.Pawlicki J.B.Monberg Pi.Pawlicki T.Busch M.Schultz R.Haupt® Diedenbergen T.Jedrzejak P.Dudek K.Huckenbeck A.Loktaev S.Mell
  25. Looks like my luck is in.Robert is due to ride in the U21 comp before the Bundesliga meeting in Stralsund this weekend.means getting up and setting off a few hours earlier than planned, but should be worth it
