  1. Crap....i understand there are financial implications here, but i just think speedway is getting ridiculous with all this seeding lark.Fully understand it with lesser competitions, but with the top meetings particularly the SWC it will be absolutely farcical to seed the Czechs into the final. It is bad enough if we always have to have an Italian or Croatian(Pavliv basically) etc in the world championship....*shakes head* even worse that so far it is deemed neccesary to have a undeserving token Brit in Let's not get too far away from the fact there was some very good speedway tonight.Well done to the riders and track staff for that-
  2. Said that is what i heard days ago and hoped BFD's rumour was right, not mine.....
  3. Justice done....best team won......scrap the joker and let's not have home team straight into final either next year
  4. agree 100%....absolutely crap rule.....good for Denmark
  5. Leave Shovlar out of it eh......Brilliant from the Danish kids whatever happens
  6. Actually if you and pirateandi look i think Phil says the rain stopped at 14:45,not 14:15 Ok guess no apology as you are eating humble pie....no probs. On with the meeting we hope with no rain problems
  7. I don't believe everything i am told by Phil....after all he did say the Danes would be dropping all experienced riders except Nicki, despite the Danish manager saying otherwise....and as we have seen Niels has been in all Danish teams
  8. But that looks like it was posted before 14:00 and according toa lot of people it hammered down at 14:15 :D
  9. Bit harsh.Mr Rising can sometimes make a decent post i think :P
  10. I was talking from our point of view.Sure there is a big rivalry between Sweden and Denmark. But from an English point of view we only have a rivalry with Australia of those finalists really. And none of Germany,Scotland or France for instance have qualified so that is our other main rivals .Guess Finland might have a big dislike against Russia,so any Finns here might be hoping for anyone but Russia,Sweden and maybe Denmark Then it is a simple choice
  11. Think it is more down to BFD :P No,seriously, you've never heard of the rivalry between England and Australia?????And as there isn't really much traditional rivalry between Russia,Sweden or Denmark it is understandable such comments are made.Same as when Scots say "anyone but England" It's tradition
  12. Like i said he might very well be the best available. But he doesn't get more out ofthe riders than you would expect. This was the biggest meeting of the season for some of these guys and do you see evidence that they were riding above themselves?Middlo came across as if he didn't know what was happening at one time.Saying they had asked Woffinden what set-up he was using, but it wasn't working for the others.....cripes,these are very experienced riders and ex riders and their only solution to their problem was to ask the least experienced guy what he was doing and then they didn't know what to do from there. Not good enough at this level. If you think that is harsh ok,but for me that is just typical as towhy we just can't hack it at the top
  13. Well i haven't seen people calling for Middlo to go....this year.Of course there have been plenty in the past. What i would say is it isn't acceptable for international riders to be as far off the pace as we were sometimes last night.Who is to blame for that?Is it down to the individuals or down to a combination of individual and team?Like i have said before a good team manager and team spirit tend to get more out ofthe riders than expected.Anyone can get what is expected out of a rider. My opinion is we don't have enough good riders and we don't have a good team manager at the moment. In his defence he may be the best available, which is sad both in terms of riders and manager
  14. Whilst i agree we should wait and see on the likes of Zmarzlik & co,i think times have now changed and we are looking at a generation that grew up maybe using the EL to hone their skills.Times have changed and we are seeing more and more riders who take another path to the top.Whilst they may at the moent be in the majority things may change in the next few years. On the other hand some of the other countries might be hitting the wall and won't be able to fund these super teams they have been over the past decade and it will all level out.I have been constantly asking about the relative poor attendances in Sweden for a good number of years and was generally told things were ok.But over the past few years we have seen one club then another hit trouble.Poland is slowly heading towards a crisis as well i think. It works fine as long as they can always find a new sponsor to pump money in.Once they dry up.....big trouble
  15. Maybe numbers wise, but can you say Mikkel B or Emil have 'needed' the EL or gained much experience from their short time? Mikkel B didn't even have his own bikes as far as he told me.Just came over and jumnped on what was provided. In all seriousness he is where he is right now because of what he has learnt outside the EL and the same can be said for Emil. And i am not going through the list to find others.......the times have changed and riders really don't need the EL to get to the top
  16. Well Middlo is talking crap here....how on earth are Great Britain and Australia Tests legendary????It is England and Australia Tests that are prestigious, both in speedway and other sports. There is a long tradition of England v Australia....what sort of tradition is there with GB v Australia? Not one i have noticed
  17. It's always the big problem when someone suggests such a thing. After about the top 3 or 4 countries the quality drops very rapidly,so most other countries are really scraping the barrel to find 5,6 or 7 international quality riders.Just looking at the list shows how little the guy has about the quality in countries like Croatia,Latvia,Germany and for cristsake Slovakia?????? Do they have more than one rider? You might as well list Belgium.....even Bulgaria have more riders than Slovakia i think....crazy as none of these teams will bring anything whatsoever toa competition. And would 100% be a comp much worse than the annual SWC.....on the shuttle to Planet Zog with you
  18. I agree Humph.Similar but on a smaller scale with the Ice Racing 'team' championship where the reserve can be used at any time for any rider, but like you say,no more rides than anyone else
  19. It's the north/south divide in another country maybe?lol
  20. Yes,but there was a lot of criticism of Tobi in Germany anyway....Ok Martin as captain shouldn't say anything. But most people know what he is like lol.Why wasn't Tobi Busch in instead of Kroner was said a lot.But Busch as i have said often here blows hot + cold.Who knows which Busch will turn up fora meeting or for a heat.I think the team done about as good as could be expected.Kevin is much the same as Tobi, just more often better. We never know which Kevi will show up,but more often than not on the international scene(look at Vojens...) it is the poor one, sadly
  21. Thanks.Nothing much there.Even Schäfer criticised all the team, even Smoli.......
  22. Martin Smolinski has appologised to his team mates for his after meeting criticism of them all.He sticks by what he said, but not that it wasn't kept private........ http://sr-speedperformance.com/news/?action=show&id=80 So,anyone know just what was said????
