Nathan Greaves & Robert Lambert
iris123 replied to cometsfan2k4's topic in Youth Speedway and Development Leagues
Robert got 7 points yesterday including one heat win,but had little support from his partner and finished last. But according to one,had the speed but lacked the experience to pass on a notorious gaters paradise of a track. One of the reasons i have rarely visited the place. A couple of heats showing Robert certainly in contention with Hefenbrock and Gomolski Roberts heat win results http://www.speedway....juni/index.html -
Speedway World Cup 2012
iris123 replied to mdmc82's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Think over the years the team that has won the Race-Off has had a distinct advantage over the teams that go directly into the final.Personally i think this decision i good for Denmark, both now and for the future -
Speedway World Cup 2012

Great.Really pleased for Mikkel B  -
Bit over the top, especially as you then state that you don't know what meetings are being quoted or what context.Fact is there are meetings that get those sort of figures as Ghostwalker say's.In my own experience i was at a Sweden U21 v Denmark U21 meeting in Malmö on a very nice day weather wise and doubt there was more than 100-200 people there including riders, mechanics and staff.

This is a topic that came up at the weekend when i was talking to a journalist......the draw or generally any draw in speedway is far from fair.It was said that certain riders will know beforehand which meeting they will be in if they qualify for the next round!!! But with a seeded rider in the Final....well this is nothing new.Wallner of Austria for instance was in the World U21 final in Austria, despite being eliminated in an earlier round. But of course that is of less importance than a GP Challenge
-
Ok.Thought maybe you would know how old Jack Cornes was.I see that the Polish rider!!!!!Yes a polish rider on Longtrack/grasstrack is also 13.What is quite interesting is the young German who was unbeaten until he fell in the final....Sandro Wassermann.....i wonder if he is any relation to the exwas it Racer? Hans??? Must investigate this one.Or maybe Jesper has some info on him and the Dutch riders ages?

Gorzow Gp Saturday 23rd June
iris123 replied to iris123's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I agree and disagree.I do think his decision not to enter was down to other matters.Guess it would have been impossible for him to make friday practice for a few GPs and like you say it could have been that he had to miss a few GPs as well. That said,i think it was a wise decision to make and not only for himself, but the GP organisers too.So rather than punish him,i think he should get a wild card. -
Finally got round to looking at all the results and one things strikes me as very strange...... Of the host countries with home riders,we have Germany(Güstrow)-2 riders in the meeting GB(Berwick)-2 riders Poland(Tarnow)-3 riders Austria(St.Johann)-2 riders Hungary(Miskolc)-6!!!! riders What is even stranger is that Hungary didn't have any riders in any of the other meetings. What is that all about????
-
If i read that correctly there is a wolf in sheeps clothing among the competitors there!!! How does a New Zealander compete in the British Championship??? Well done to young Bradley and all the other youngsters.Look forward to seeing some compete against our young German lad Robert Lambert :P

Polish League Plan For 2013
iris123 replied to racers and royals's topic in International World of Speedway
Well a German journalist has criticised the plans. He doubts any of the clubs will have transparency of finances or that they won't hand over a packed brown envelope to the riders that they want http://www.speedweek.de/art_26275.html I also was talking to him last night about the fairly uneven draws for the GP qualifiers, where one or two are much harder than others.Unbelievably stronger line-ups.Well i wait for him to put that one online...... -
Really enjoyable meeting. The rain held off mostly, but drove back through a storm. So was pretty lucky it missed Güstrow.Thought Kennett was unlucky to be excluded in his first heat when in second which would have set him up nicely.Good crowd of 3,000 considering the weather. Here is the run-off for 3rd Lot of very good heats and individual performances, but i think a special mention should go to Ty Procter. He really tried his heart out and made some good moves, not really reflected in his score
-
Thanks.Should have 5 hours(if that makes a difference ),but i guess it depends on how long and how many times a rider can practice. If like the Bundesliga meeting last week riders have two sessions then that can bugger the track up.Like it did last week. But if they just have a 5 minute session then hopefully not much damage will be done.Guess it is so late to give all the riders riding last night a fair chance to get there...
-
Practice just about to start in Güstrow.Wet,but theysay at this stage it is ok for the track and they are "confident" that it will be dry later! Hope so,am setting off in a hour or so.Fingers crossed for a great meeting. At least imo Güstrow is the best prepared track in the north,so if anyone has a chance with bad weather, then they do

The big surprise is why no Bjerre in the quali's.Doesn't look like he is going to make the cut and now they are nominating a rider who said he didn't want to be considered for the GP quali's ahead of Bjerre.Maybe after last weeks meeting in Parken Mikkel B has had a change of mind. But i'd guess Bjerre is feelling snubbed.

Nathan Greaves & Robert Lambert
iris123 replied to cometsfan2k4's topic in Youth Speedway and Development Leagues
Another tough line-up for Robert in just over a week.Think myself they could have paired Robert with a more experienced or better rider than Mochner! Also a bit weird that they have an "English" pairing of Allen + Doyle ,but we already know that Robert is riding with a German licence so rides in a German pairing http://www.speedway.org/renntermine/2012/teterow/index.html -
Thanks Arnie.Casper Olsen, the mini Crump? Think it is him with his ginger hair and outfit almost identical to Jason. There are a number of impressive riders in the team.Young Jason is the one i find exciting. He really does attack the track and manages to pass riders.Of the Swedes i think i have only seen Wennerstam,so almost completely unknown to me.Hope it was an enjoyable meeting despite the one sided score line

Nicki goes sometimes years without being beaten at Holsted.Think i was there when Klindt was the first to beat him in a league meeting at Holsted in a 3 or 4 year period
