  1. You might be righton that.Talk of riding British tracks as a need to develop at this stage is hardly important i think.Who out of all the top riders in the world has needed NL racing to help them develope?Don't think British tracks are any where near as important as they used to be.But as a way of getting used to differing conditions it didn't do Nicki P,Gollob or most other top riders including Holder(maybe next world champ?)riding on the continent or going straight into the PL.Even look at Holta or now Vaculik and they haven't hardly ridden a British track at all and haven't done too bad.I would imagine another year on the continent and then PL would be the way to go.Just maybe he will need a few more meetings and the NL might come in handy that way.Riding on the continent means he is generally only doing one meeting a week or less.He might need a bit more than that next year. But there is also something in not over doing things, just taking it steady and keeping fresh at this age.It didn't do Risager much good joining a team at an early age and burning out doing 50 or 60 meetings a year at 16 years old. Robert is up against a class field this weekend again. Not the sort of test he would get in the NL http://www.speedway.org/renntermine/2012/cloppenburg/index.html
  2. Don't think he will join a NL team next year.Seemed to be very happy with their treatment in Germany and the prospects for the future there. Some might see it as arrogance, but i don't think they see the competition in the NL as being what Robert needs to progress. But things can change. Was in a Europe team against Germany at the weekend and was top scorer....more than Kyle Newman.Think they have made a mistake with hts 7+8 http://www.speedway.org/ergebnisse/2012/berghaupten/index.html
  3. I don't really find your behaviour acceptable, but it isn't illegal.Although i imagine if you carry on what should be a reasonable discussion/thread might end up being locked
  4. Good post Hunty.I think he had good reasons to turn the offer down and IMG/BSI have good reasons to put him in the series next season.Nuff said
  5. I tend to think it was a mix of KevH + Parsloes answers.Talk of New Cross etc don't apply as they closed before this came in or at least Wimbledon made the change.Could be something in the fact that FIM have specifications to be met. Can't remember New Cross ever hosting an FIM meeting anyway
  6. Not at all interested in F1,so that is a sideline.I am talking about speedway.....so why?
  7. Why??? This isn't a pop at you in particular, but a genaral question.....why post a link to a photo of someone breaking their leg or getting badly injured or even worse the links to lee getting killed?Sorry, but i just don't understand it and i make my own decision not to look at any of these things. So i just wonder out of interest why do people look at these things.I mean knowing in advance that someone is injured or killed why then look? What is the interest there?.
  8. I wonder how much difference it would really make if no Brit was in the series.British speedway fans are fairly notorious in supporting foreign riders that ride for their team rather than British riders. And as you say it is only a minority sport. So i doubt a great number of Sky subscribers have been re-subscribing over the past few seasons with the hope of seeing a Brit winning GPs and challenging for the title. So if there happened to be none aprt from a Cardiff wildcard i doubt it would affect Sky's subscriptions too much British speedway fans are a strange phenomenon.I don't know of any other sport where fans support another country or another countries rider/sportsperson over their own country/rider.I don't even see it within our sport in other countries.I don't see danish speedway fans walking around with American or Australian flags etc....nor Polish fans or Swedish fans.So i really don't see that it matters much, but maybe Sky don't realise this phenomenon and expect speedway fans to behave like other sports fans
  9. On the continent we regularly have meetings with 40 or so heats.Used to love it when Kevin Wölbert,Christian Hefenbrock,Tobi Kroner etc were in the U21s.You'd get a 20-odd heat U21 meeting in the morning and then in the afternoon a 20 odd heat Bundesliga meeting
  10. How will comparing their averages show who will be riding longer? iris123
  11. You say the GP series needs a huge shake up,and then offer us a system that will do nothing of the sort.It is basically the same as what we have.Ok only 6 instead of 8 qualify automatically, but that is just in theory.Same as now although only 8 are assured the next few are picked as wildcards anyway generally. So if you only have 6,do you think the riders finishing in 7th,8th and 9th etc won't just get the wildcards? And then where is the shake-up?As it is we have a really close chase for the title and there were outside reasons for one or two of the riders not being in the series. If as i believe has been stated that the Polish rule won't be applied next year then we have the makings of another great series. So personally i don't see any reason in changing and i don't see the need for a shake-up.The youngsters are coming,no worries.Just give them time
  12. Pretty sure Kasper was recieving gating help a while back from none other than Hans Nielsen,so the team know there is a problem and are trying to do something about it
  13. Yeah,when.....few and far between those occasions.Do it now then or just log out as this sort of thing is very boring for everyone including me
  14. Been here for years disagreed with loads of posts and posters.have you always agreed with everyone? Not from my memory and seems quite often start calling people names.....so i refer you to my previous post, put up or please shut up
  15. You are boring mate.Get a life.I have made many many posts here agreeing with Philip.Just because over the past few days i have disagreed doesn't make me a stalker and doesn't mean later on today or tomorrow i won't be back agreeing with him.I have nothing personal against him and by stating that an article in a magazine questioned where they got the crowd figures from or quoting Crumps Swedish averages i am using published facts and opinions from other sources, not the stuff like your opinions As it happens from the couple of threads where we disagreed i think iam right in saying i posted before Philip,so if you have some proof of what you are accusing me of put up or please shut up or maybe i will break the habit of a lifetime and report a post
  16. In fairness,he did say he was no Stephen Hawkins,so we can excuse him if the simple maths was wrong
  17. That might say more about Mr Rogers memory than anything. It was a good meeting. Not one that i think should be criticised, but there have certainly been a fair few meetings better than that over the past few years even, and someone who has seen as many as martin rogers should remember some.
  18. Guess they could have put together a tribute film that lasted a couple of minutes to put on the big screen that would i am sure have recieved great applause.Think that would have been more fitting than a minutes silence
  19. And excuse a lot of people if they don't put much store in your 38,000 or much else. The crowd figures announced have been questioned for years and going way back to a Slovenian GP i remember a German article wondering just where the extra thousands were hiding...
  20. Well done Holder. One of the best title fights for a long time and it seems some are moaning about the silencers and want changes.Madness!!!This is what a lot wanted anyway, the new guard coming on and overtaking the old boys. Now it is happening, which is what you would expect as mother nature can't be defied for ever we are being led to believe by Phil Rising it is down to silencers, not riding ability
  21. There were rumours that a firestarter might be in the house, but i was expecting someone else......
  22. If they do interview him can you translate it on here as i can never understand the bloke lol
