  1. two points for puk will be enough.let's see him muck this up.Smoli to win a heat anyone?
  2. Fairly open by the looks of it,with a good chance of one or two duffers getting in......hmmmmm
  3. Maybe Vaculik and Liglad know they have wildcards for next year anyway.Remember back in 2007 at Vojens and the rumour was before the meeting that Kasprzak had a wildcard for 2008 and by the way he rode it seemed to back that rumour up.And of course he was in.....
  4. :blink:Cardiff isn't really ready for Barker on GP night is it?Not sure we want that being exported around the world
  5. Good win for Marcel and super result for Robert. Also both the Riss boys look good as they only had their first speedway meeting at the start of the season and Mark was just a lap and a bit away from winning the title before his bike packed up
  6. If he was doing this for the next generation i just wished he had waited until after the GP Challenge to see if a youngster had just missed out in 4th place and then given his spot to him rather than to AJ who like i said beofre the season started hasn't really developed much after his initial burst into the GPs.Shame really on both counts
  7. Personally not bothered one way or the other with Bomber.Like i have said before,i think he should call it a day with the GPs and go for the Longtrack world title. He would have a decent chance at that.He stands no chance of establishing himself in the GPs now with all the youngsters that will be coming through
  8. Oh,the old Dulwich Hamlet football ground.....remember going there one Boxing day for a derby against Tooting + Mitcham...half the ground was cordoned off for safety as the terracing was what looked like railway sleepers and dirt in between and most of the sleepers were warped and rotting away.Went to the new ground as well once or twice as for a season or so Millwalls reserves played there.
  9. Your own worst enemy, you dummy. If you had have had caviar, prawn sandwiches and champagne they wouldn't know what it was in Sheffield and you would have got it in ok.But big macs, well they would have been confiscated and scoffed in no time by the security
  10. Interesting to see how much investment and development has gone into the bikes since the 70s and how much facilities for the fans have changed.....Look at other sports and facilities have changed enormously.Look at speedway and it still rents run down stadia from other sports. It is unlikely that any new stadia built need to think about having income from a speedway team/track and so the only time speedway gets that 21C feeling is once a year at Cardiff. And you pay good money to get in for a GP.But all in all it is worth it.Personally don't see a bright future for the sport if it continues to run once a week meetings at most tracks.
  11. What is ridiculous is Jason says now he won't ride and no 9 takes precedence over a GP challenge qualifier. If he says he will ride and in a few weeks time the riders are announced then he says he won't ride and no 4 in the qualifier takes precedence That makes sense
  12. That was the one meeting we were both at.....and missed each other
  13. No one is doubting it.Might as well argue that a protestant will be the next Pope as argue against AJ being in the GPs next season
  14. Seems looking at the results, that Kevin was allowed to ride, but the others not.maybe goes back a few years when kevin said he wouldn't do any of these meetings after being sent year after year into eastern europe whilst others continually got a home meeting. Also off topic a bit(ora lot)interesting to see the former wonder boy turned armed robber(allegedly as i haven't seen any proof) is making yet another comeback in the German Championship final on saturday
  15. You mean rule 9002.4b If in the event that a Ginger headed Australian should at any time not wish to participate in the GP series then a Swedish rider called Andreas will be nominated to take his place regardless of any other rule that says otherwise
  16. I would agree.I saw them both on what i think was their European debuts,in Denmark and was impressed by Darcy, but had my breath taken away by Arthur. No doubt in my mind who was the better talent at the time.Maybe Sissis wouldn't have gone on to be so great, but that is hard to believe really. He is just a natural on a bike.Just imagine what Australia would be like with Holder,Ward and Sissis!!!!!
  17. I agree with D W.Unless you are suggesting that by saying before the end of this GP season that he won't be riding that gives AJ the spot, rather than if he waited until November or January to announce his retirement?Whatever,he will still ride in the last GP,so i honestly can't see the difference.Only if he said he was now retiring and wouldn't ride the Torun GP can i see a difference. But rules seem to be made complicated by sub sections and .....grrrr
  18. A few years back Gorican were streaming live themselves.Wonder why they didn't carry on....??
  19. With a German licence he has been riding in the North German qualifying rounds.Last time i looked he was top scorer in the North having won 4 rounds and came second in one other.Think the German Championships have always been open to those who hold a German licence.Marvyn Cox,Todd Wiltshire and others have all rode in the senior Championship. Won't pretend that i know the feelings of the fans at large, but what i will say is those opinions i have seen or heard have only been positive in regards Robert and wanting to see him ride in more events. He has got himself quite a decent fan following in a year
  20. Good question and i don't know the finances involved. But surely as prfessional riders they have to make a living and decide for themselves where they ride and what is best for their career? They are not employed by the DMSB and have probably had little financial help from them in their career. So why should the DMSB ask for entry into competitions that the riders don't want to ride in?We know most riders don't fancy trips to eastern Europe. How many times have we had this discussion here over the years?Ok,normally riders have nothing else that day and just go sick..I doubt for this there was an awful lot to be gained financially,so a meeting at home was probably the best option Anyway, don't want to fallout before Pardu,so i'll leave it at that
  21. As i suspected Robert is down for the German U21 Championship.Looking at the line-up,he stands a good chance as well.Probably Huckenbeck his main challenger. Will be interesting to see the offspring of Gerd Riss also http://www.speedway.org/dm-praedikate/2012/races/index.html
  22. Lee was great,no doubt. One of the absolute best youngsters i have ever seen.I would say Arthur Sissis is up there as well.Unfortunatelly for speedway he chose superbikes and last time i looked was doing very well. But maybe just maybe we have another great talent coming through.Something we see once every decade or two.I hope to be seeing the kid for the second time next weekend. And even though this will be for the German U21 title the youngster is from Norwich! I wonder if there was ever before someone so young who has won a national U21 title, because believe me he really stands a good chance http://www.speedway.org/dm-praedikate/2012/races/index.html
  23. Number of German riders barred from riding in meetings over the weekend by the DMSB,i guess because they turned down the chance to ride in Rivne.Hefenbrock yesterday in Güstrow and Wölbert,Kroner and Dilger today in Brokstedt,so i hear
