  1. Seems crazy to schedule the final on 20th July, the same day as the daugavpils round of the U21 finals!!!Unless the Danes for example don't bother entering the U21s next year
  2. No,just going by something posted here before.Maybe by Humphrey???? But can't say who for sure.Reading a bit on the net yesterday i couldn't find anything about a ban, just that it is being investigated since June by the food/health body in France.....and now this latest case(s).Both seem specific to Monster rather than energy drinks as a whole Have to admit energy drinks aren't my thing and so this all comes as a surprise to me.Read that Red Bull was banned in a few countries,France + Denmark included for a few years.
  3. On the continent it is quite normal to have junior etc heats throughout the meeting. In Germany they have 125 + 250 cc heats,in Denmark i have seen 50cc + 80cc heats in between and a few weeks back in Pardubice there were some Longtrack trial heats between the 500cc heats.Just needs proper organisation, but then every meeting should be organised properly so that people aren't standing around for 15 minutes waiting.I heard from Dutchgrasstrack that during one meeting recently track prep was going on after every two heats for no good reason other than dragging the meeting out. That isn't acceptable
  4. Is that what all the fuss is about?????Thought they must be showing the meeting.Still, sure some if not all will turn up on youtube
  5. Think f-s-p might have got one thing wrong. Not sure i mentioned Zmarzlik as i hadn't heard anything on him.More i was told Musielak's injury was rather questionable,Dudek could have ridden in Pardu and Piotr was almost going to be fit to ride in the Play-offs if you read some of the comments on here....No,i think you have to be very naieve to believe all 6 Poles other than Magic are injured and can't make the trip after the funds to finance it were not forthcoming. All very fishy Oh and it seems DK4 will be covering the meetings,so we can watch
  6. Ah,i never caught that.Just thought this was a first and a big problem at that as it is in California and the parents would probably sue the company for millions and try for a ban.If i am right Monster is already banned in Denmark?
  7. Bad publicity at the moment.Monster was all over tv and newspapers because a 14 year old has died and Monster drink is being blamed.Seems she was at least the 4th death blamed on Monster!!!!
  8. Armando Castagna is the name mentioned to me pushing for this. And also the one who made a number of promises on the financial/organisation side to get people on board and they seem to have been forgotten-I would say in theory it is great for international speedway to be going round the globe......but the conditions have to be right.I don't think using the youngsters as guinnea pigs is right. It seems both the FIM + UEM are trying to push the bounaries without having the financial back up to cover the costs. The riders end up out of pocket and you end up with a meeting in Russia with no western rider and about 7 or 8 Russians a few Ukrainians a Czech and a Pole. And here you end up with 6 out of 7 Poles dropping out with sicknotes
  9. Surprised.I can't recall any of the Germans he competed against having ridden 500cc.What about the cheese munchers from your area?
  10. Probably right....was it in the super Zlata Prilba proggie? But he did compete in the 125cc Gold Trophy this year,so i can't see him having much 500cc experience
  11. As it is one of the riders told me we are now down to about rider no.24 from the quali meetings and then you are asking riders even further down the list to go to Argentina for meetings that they probably have no chance of doing well in and make a big loss.So you can understand why the places are taken by locals.Maybe one or two will be tempted over for a European season.Hopefully they won't just decide to become Italian But it is one thing to ask European qualifiers to go over to Argentina for a long-short trip. But if an Argentinian came to Europe for a qualifier and actually got through he would have to leave school/work for around 5 or 6 months rather than a couple of weeks.
  12. They only have so many riders because all but one of the Poles have pulled out......
  13. Er.........none qualified There was always going to be a meeting wc,just like at the other meetings. And he was always going to be an Argentinian. That is as far as it goes. You can't fine people for not entering a competition, just for pulling out after entering and qualifying.Which is the main problem and one which caused trouble last year in Balakovo for instance. Why one or two of the teams entered knowing that the final was in Balakovo is a good question. Why do riders eneter competitions knowing the next round of the final is in some far flung part of Europe and now South America.....been an ongoing subject here for years.Had a conversation on here with HenryW maybe 5 or more years ago about riders dropping out of UEM competitions and just last yeari was at a meeting where a rider didn't bother to go out for a run-off for a reserve place in the next round because he knew it was too far away for him even if he did make it.That is the problem along with obviously underfunding. Not fining riders because they didn't enter
  14. I thought like Jesper B.Monberg that Mikkel doesn't want to be a Jensen any more?
  15. As quite often Phil, what are we supposed to make of it?Just a couple of miles from me is one of the biggest freight docks in Europe.Crates and containers are going up,down, left, right and centre all hours of the day.Are we supposed to be thrilled to bits that the FIM have managed to organise what 15 crates on their way to Argentina?Sure it will be a great experience. An expensive one though both in terms of money and time away from school, work and family.Promises made, promises broken......let's hope many things are learnt from this experience on all sides And at the end a dane is standing on top of the podium
  16. Nah,keep away from porn stars if he want a clean cut image
  17. Robert Barth was sponsored by Coca Cola and McDonalds sponsor Tobi Kroner, surely someone like Jepsen Jensen would want better than those riders????
  18. I did notice that, but gearhead had already quoted the post.......and it probably ain't far from the truth any more
  19. You should have seen f-s-p last week in Czecho......almost every conversation started with "Do you know how much this would cost in Finland??????"
  20. That is a good post and something missing quite a bit on here.Thanks.One thing that we do have here in Germany is a group of promoters getting together to buy equipment(at the moment of course airfence)that would be hard for every single promoter to buy themselves. This might of course be easier in Germany as there tends to be only the one meeting ona saturday and one on a sunday(major meetings at least)in north Germany or south. As to the racing surface i do wonder if anyone has even looked at anything else. But you are right in that riders do tend to ride in bad conditions for a GP but not for a league meeting
  21. Yes it is a worrying trend there that cannot be explained by a one year clash with football.I haven't looked at the crowd figures for a couple of years, but just thought Parken was one of the main GPs where crowds were pretty steady.I thought as i said apart from the running battles and fights that i witnessed outside the stadium that it was a well run GP in a great(if bit expensive City) and the atmosphere was terrific.Add to that the good state of danish speedway with some very good young riders and it should be doing well.On the other hand you have the fairly sparse Vojens doing well and is now off the calendar.I wonder if this is a bit of pressure from Ole on the local authorities?Him saying without funding they won't be hosting any more big meetings in the future!!!!The GPs need to be held in front of big crowds imo.Hosting GPs in front of 4-7,000 people looks bad for tv and sponsors
  22. sadly i would say at the moment even in GB Tai is still behind Bomber and Scott. Both of them failed in the GPs,so i see no reason why Tai will fair any better.Time will tell, but i don't look good, because if Tai fails who do we choose then?????
  23. If you think it is rubbish to ask what developments have been made to speedway tracks/stadium against bad weather in the last 40 years then that is your view. But if you think this is unimportant then shows your mentality. It is very important and it does seem to me and a lot of others that meetings are called off far earlier and with less bad weather than previous decades. And another of your sidetracking tactics calling me a stalker!!! How many posts of yours have i replied to in the past year?Give us a rough idea......in a year i doubt i have replied to 10 of your posts. If that makes me a stalker then i think there must be thousands of stalkers.Posts like that do make you seem a bit strange.Doubt there have been more than a handful of your posts worth replying to in a year ......try to stick to the topic and answer questions if you really can rather than come out with glib soundbites like 4 blokes doing 4 laps or calling people names eh?
  24. well it will have to have about 10,000 more than Malilla,so a big "might" .Maybe if Jepsen Jensen had been given the wildcard it "might" have been more likely
  25. Ok didn't realise about this years Parken fixture, but the trend isn't good and next year we have Vojens (20,000) replaced with Daugavpils(about 7,000) so the attendances will probably have another fall?
