  1. Don't know about that(actually i used the one of both Liglad + Mikkel B together in Pardu on my FB page)...........what i do know is that in a report yesterday Liglad was called the "new Nicki Pedersen".....now i think i said that on here in about 2005 or 2006
  2. So could we all......and it shows the problem with a few peoples idea/opinion,because mostly they are the riders who have come through the qualification rounds
  3. We will have to wait and see.But as the saying goes "once bitten, twice shy". Give them credit at least the Danes gave it a go.Despite what we have seen here,it is an incredible coincidence that all the Poles apart from the one defending his title were injured for the trip.So we could be looking at a world title being decided next year,if Argentina goes ahead, without the Poles and Danes and possibly others who get wind of what has happened.Of course the FIM could come up with enough money to make it all worthwhile..............
  4. That is exactly what the GP series ensures as far as possible, apart from injury.Or can you point out a year when this didn't happen? Sure we can point out a few years when this didn't happen at the time of the old style world final.Let's face it,you have no reasonable argument against the GPs,other than you don't like them.Ok fair enough and good night
  5. Oh well,i might be wrong about Mikkel Bech.He is saying if next years world final is going to Argentina again as has been planned then he won't be there. "They have no idea about how to plan things.Everything is done at the last minute.I can only hope next year will be better.Although for me it doesn't matter as i won't be there" http://www.speedweek.de/art_29791.html#.UKDUnkL1YWc.facebook This ties in with a few things i have seen from a few riders saying "no way Jose",next year.
  6. Sure. This marketing of the Gladiators......but it is a confusing issue with the name and if you look at it of the major countries you have Russia with what looks like a translation of "Motorbikes on Ice" .Not really a great title to be used Sweden -Isracing= Ice Racing Netherlands,Germany,Austria,Finland and now Poland with what translates as Ice Speedway Not sure what the Czech is or tranlates to,but really it doesn't matter much as the vast majority seem to call the sport Ice Speedway. And it really isn't an english language sport anyway......although strangely the Polish team for the upcoming team championship are being advertised as "Polska Ice Speedway Team" But like i said,i do agree it all gets confusing as it really isn't Speedway in the sense we know.Speedway on Ice as it is known here is more akin to speedway
  7. Great result.Always thought in 80cc he was certainly a super talent, but his nerve was questionable when it came to the crunch.Never winning the YGT when he was favourite or one of the main contenders put a question mark against him for me,but he has certainly over the past couple of years(especially this year) proved he is one of the main prospects. Also very pleased for Mikkel Bech to get a bronze. His chances are still to come
  8. Pint for 30p....... Someone comes up with a suggestion that others don't like, surely they can say they don't like it without needing to come up with a better idea.Anyway it would seem what they already have is better than the north/south divide,so they are suggesting we stick with that over regionalisation The chances that fans will come up with some great ideas that will get speedway out of the doldrums are very slim.If we could only contribute if we came up with a better idea the forum would be pretty quiet i suggest. If someone does come up with a great idea i am sure most people will say so.
  9. It is a toughie, with a number of pitfalls Ok in Swedish it is Isracing, which translates good to Ice racing. But in German it is eisspeedway or in Finnish it is Jääspeedway or Dutch it is i think Ijsspeedway which translates to Ice Speedway. It seems at least in germany we have eisspeedway and speedway on ice for the different sports on ice
  10. Looks a solid side DW,but Simon back after a few years break at D grade?? Who are the top 80cc riders that will be moving up to 500cc next season and where are they going?
  11. The report was stating that he would probably miss both meetings and just guessing but, missed the flight and the ticket can't be changed.....now that is me thinking the FIM have booked cheap flights I don't expect to see him turn up
  12. some video from the meeting http://speedwaylive.gportal.hu/gindex.php?pg=33755924&nid=6288964
  13. Just watched the Liglad v Magic run-off,looks a fairly decent crowd......far better than Italy GP for instance
  14. 1,000 people for practice is super.Hope for a great turn out later.Guess if they can pull a big crowd for this then the rumour about a GP in a couple of years could well be true.Hope you do your job properly as getting the sack in Argentina.....a long way home
  15. Think you are dreaming.Who is going to broadcast it?Seen nothing and it would be out there by now.Think the only chance was a local station or amateur who streams it like they sometimes do with Ice Speedway from Russia. But as of yet there is only the radio station being posted,so i guess that and the Danish link and of course maybe one of the polish sites copies those or has someone........other than that i think we have to wait for some of the heats or if we are lucky, all turn up on youtube
  16. Not in an Argentinian bus Read a comment about riding "on a beach",so i guess the Bahia Blanca track is a bit different to what the guys are used to?????Will be interesting to see how the local guys do against the foreign stars Does seem that a local radio station will be doing regular spots on the meetings and maybe updates....if you can understand Spanish, but i think also something in english.not sure though http://www.rugirsports.com.ar/ and of course the danes will be updating on dk4
  17. Racer has already posted and reposted after the clocks changed this info.Practice is just about to start in 35 degree temperatures.........
  18. Seems like Loktaev might also miss both meetings. All his equipment is there, but he has fever
  19. Who paid? You or Petri???? You know i found a bottle of Czech beer in my car when i got home......unfortunately some bugger had emptied it
  20. Yes,i have seen a few and agree. There are idiots on Polish forums just as there are here. But of course you would think in the circumstances that people would be more careful and engage their brain a little.......but I would say it is of less importance what some idiots post on forums. The main thing is this gets sorted out between Emma and the club, although for sure it can't help if she reads these things
  21. Very few peoples posts are 100% accurate Phil,Yours and my posts included.
  22. I hope it is all just a misunderstanding because of language, although i guess at a Polish club they should be used to dealing in english with contracts etc.....
  23. Thanks.Didn't even think of that. Was expecting it to be a suburb of the City Never really looked too much into Argentinian speedway apart from a couple of chats with Manuel Hauzinger + Whitey Uzzel and looked at a few websites years ago.....
  24. Must be....seen it listed as Bahia Blanca,Buenos Aires.....but it is a blooming long way from B A.The Danish team left on sunday night and only got to their hotel yesterday afternoon!!!!
  25. Decisions like this really bring the sport into question. The SWC was one of the highlights of the season, only imo spoilt by the joker. We heard that the authorities were up in arms about the danish tactics and were going to do something about it.....so do they do the sensible thing and scrap it?Of course not a little tweak which won't do a lot and then compromise the whole tournament by seeding the 7th or 8th best team straight into the final, thus ensuring one of the best teams won't be able to make it and ensuring one team(CZ) will be way out of contention in the final and ensuring one of the top events of the year is raced on one of the worst tracks in Europe.......and these guys are "experts"
