Yes.I wonder if someone knows with whom or where Lindbäck was staying when in England?Don't suppose he would also be bunking at Chez Middlo? -

Surely Poole must have known this was coming up and should have been ready to deal with it?Can't believe the Echo got wind of this before Ford.So as someone said there should have been an official press statement and Ford should has issed it and been the man talking.Seems some mistakes were made on that account.Ford has been through this before so should know the ropes and put a muzzle on Middlo.Even if it was a "we are as much in the dark and are waiting for further details or a call with darcy....." sort of thing.Badly handled by Middlo/Ford,but at least Matt is trying to pick up the pieces here and save the situation -

A ban might not solve the problem as Phil Rising says, but it might help towards solving the problem.Somehow he needs a shake up and quick before it is too late. For him and who knows who else will get caught up in this downward spiral.Funnily enough another rider associated with Poole,Antonio Lindbäck did get himself(as far as i can tell)back on the right path.He took a step back from the limelight and almost started again from scratch.I can't see Darcy keeping his feet on the ground if he manages in the next few months to win a GP,which isn't impossible -

In his defence,he did say in his opinion. Not that his opinion is worth much Middlo is reasonably lucky that he is a fairly obscure figure in reality. If that comment was made by someone in a responsible public eye position then he would be cruxified and his position would be untenable. As it is he and some of his mates will say something like, you always support your friends ......His character was questionable before from previous incidents. There is no way if this statement is true that he should be allowed to hold a responible position in the public eye/professional sport -

Middlo is the unacceptable face of freedom. To even try to excuse what darcy did is bad enough, but to make out this is something the majority of youngsters do is scandalous.Ok i will forgive him if he just meant Australians -
Saw Jouni has a nice few holes in his leg after his fall at the weekend!!!! 8 from 3 finished heats isn't bad either What about the Assen wildcard scandal?Seems Sven Holstein signed the papers and was announced as wildcard,at least on speedway.org.Now it seems he got told at the weekend that his services aren't wanted in Assen. Not even on the friday!!!!!!And the wildcard will be going to a Swede or Czech. Now the guessing can start.Nice little twoing and froing on FB How to make friends and influence people

Polish Early Season Challenges

What is on the weekend before?Particularly near the German border.I know Leszno -Wroclaw,but what else is on??? -
Guess it is too late now,but maybe for next year and i hope this doesn't make me seem as mad as a man from Manchester called Paul. But what about a Little Big Issue? Pocket sized season review. You can just imagine how much life would be improved for many a speedway fan if they can,on the bus,at work, queeing for a chinese or south american(whatever takes your fancy)you can pop it out, lick your finger and flick away. Not boasting, but i have already got a Little Big Horn for next season
-
The original post was about clubs having a "stand at the show" and i don't think your post implied anything else.So as i say or ask would a stand from other clubs do anything other than preach to the converted? As for handing out leaflets at zoos and fun fairs and other big attractions that is surely a good idea which i agree with
-
Not one for backing promoters in the face of criticism, but, and this is just an honest question, wouldn't this be seen as preaching to the converted?I would have thought this is a very special event only attended by die-hard speedway fans?
-
I was rather hoping that they would print the issue as a fold out one giant page issue so negating the need for an index. If not, maybe i could somewhere download a minimax spreadsheet with all the teams listed and i could fill in the page number next to each team as i go through the magazine, which would be of unimaginable help to me on my almost daily referencing during the course of the season. I be going watch football now
-
I agree,no index. But please, please, have your text in various sizes and colours so that we can understand the important points

It is hard(for me at least)to really work out just what has gone on or is going on.Rye House as a venue?Len Silver has been around since the days of the previous pirate league.Hardly anyone in the sport knows more than he does.I can't work out how he agreed to this if he knew it was a speedway meeting outside of SCB control.Maybe he didn't know all the details and maybe hadn't agreed to anything. At the moment it doesn't all add up
-
A slow release of info isn't a bad thing in itself. That is exactly the strategy that Sittingbourne are using to keep things on the boil. The thing here is, i suspect things have ground to a halt and we won't hear much else from this group/pair.I was thinking they can't be so naive to expect an easy ride and just come in and promote their own series, they must have one or two tricks up their sleeve to answer the shot across their bows from the SCB.Maybe though, they were that naive

Only 3 occasions a Finn gets serious i can think of 1.When his bottle of alcohol is empty 2.When he hasn't got enough money for a bottle of alcohol 3.When his sauna is busticated

This is a story told to me by Arthur Sissis' father.A rival of Arthur in Australia had a brand new bike bought for him.In the first meeting he didn't do as well as expected. His father, rather irate took the bike back to the shop and told the guy he had sold him a duff and wanted his money back. The guy who owned the shop the asked if Arthur would ride the bike in the next meeting, which he did and which he won.The father of his rival wanted to know what had been changed on the bike and wouldn't have it that it was in the same condition as when his son rode it..........

Good post.Like i said there is so much we don't know about all this.I am neither for or against at the moment because we really know so little.I find myself arguing against those "against" because their arguments hold little basis in fact so it seems.Obviously i would guess one or two of those questions are answered. If they hire a track(say Leicester or rye),then staff/equipment would be supplied by that track? Not sure how it works at every track but would guess the promoter would not only gain in hiring the track out but also gain from car park and food/bar sales?Again going from what i/we have heard from promoters in the past they lose money everytime they open the gates.I think Matt Ford said that.We also have heard that some promoters want less meetings(Eastbourne for instance)but are generally forced to agree a certain amount. Now on the face of it letting someone else take up one of those nights must be a win-win situation?
-
Yes.....i did say i don't know what their plans were.......but i have seen they have done a good job with MotoX......now i think they had plans to do speedway meetings, not MotoX,so i don't know how they were going to run speedway meetings. Now you tell me where the contradiction is in those stetements that i know they are an organistation that run MotoX meetings, but don't know what there plans are for the speedway series?Did i ever say i didn't know who they were?Point it out to me please....Confused of HamburgI hate getting into conversations with people who can't read and understand!!!!
-
Try to remain sensible.First we have comments that it isn't possible to run speedway, which plainly isn't true. Now you go on about not knowing the people when they clearly have history, just not in speedway. If they were fly by night merchants the MotoX people would be up in arms.It seems they are so fly by night that Red Bull work with them!!!!! So try to argue with some sense
-
That is part of the problem. We really have little info,so don't know what the plans were. All we can gather is they were going to pay out money for the use of stadiums and riders. So that answers your question on who it was going to help.Fans have the choice of whether to go to one of these meetings or not,so it seems as far as i can see no-one was going to be out of pocket apart from maybe MCF,so who is it harming? At the moment we don't know if this opposition is unexpected to the MCF or if they aren't going to go away just because the SCB tell them to.It is plain the sport is in a bad shape. The only ones responsible are the BSPA.They are not though going to let someone just mosey up and start running their own show using BSPA facilities and riders. It will take confrontation and money.Someone wanting to shake things up are going to need a few tracks and a good amount of riders on their pay-roll.Like someone else said in the end fans couldn't care less who is running things as long as the product is good.If they have good ideas, good sponsors and can take the sport forward i hope they don't give up after one failed try
-
You can't really compare the position. The BSPA have been running the show for decades,so if this was all they could come up with to move the sport forward then sure,no-one would be impressed. The fact is though this is a new group trying something. So where do they start?Juniors wouldn't really be right and Elite riders wouldn't take much notice unless big money was thrown at them.To me this is just the right level to test the waters.
-
It is a problem.I mentioned this last year it must have been when i saw their .programme.What you end up with is a strange looking show which frustrates the Ice Speedway fans like us and doesn't attract those potential fans like f-s-p
-
Exactly.Football is in pretty good shape and it would take some fantastic amount to set up a rival competition. And why would anyone when the competition is great anyway. But the same on all counts can't be said for speedway.
