  1. Yes i think it is just the one woman.Apparently years ago she was a speedway fan.But for a couple of years she put a stop totally to speedway there. They put up a sound barrier and eventually were allowed to run again.I think just one or two meetings a year. But i thought it was all settled until i saw a post recently to say she had put a complaint in about a few training sessions
  2. It also must be said that it needn't be such a long journey for the Brits.A meeting could have been held locally maybe.I know from one german club that they were complaining that the cost of getting a German U21 meeting from the DMSB was more expensive than an U21 meeting from the FIM !!!And you could get quite an attractive line-up and only have these small amounts to pay to the riders
  3. Apparently so.I saw recently that the long running battle at Pocking Germany is still rolling on.The woman who has been complaining for years has got a number of training days stopped because of the noise.Even though the bikes are now quieter and there is a motorway louder than the speedway 24/7 nearby !!!!
  4. Watch out for the big meeting at Holstebro in August. Not sure if it will be televised, but the line-up is super. So good that i saw Mikkel bech the other day asking to be considered if any of the other riders drop out
  5. Not very attractive i must say.But are you suggesting that Scott and any other British rider won't enter because of the money or are they not being allowed to enter because of the politics?
  6. Results from Chervonograd http://www.speedway.org/speedway-em/2013/races/index.html
  7. Well he isn't the only one.Lawrence Rogers will manage the American U21 team. But i don't think you can attach any blame to them for any lack of talent just because they step in to do a one day job
  8. Rosco's only chance is if Secher can't make it and Middlo steps in !!!
  9. Precisely. But now that the FIM have given the go-ahead for such a series they must get right behind it and not allow Federations to boycott or stop riders from entering. That will only lead to chaos and quite possibly grounds for break away series/Federations.And you will end up with international speedway being split. But we know Britain have a history of not entering such things. They now have lost a lot of the power they used to have in the sport and by such actions respect as well.Like it say's in the article you can't ask for federations to work together and then go and boycott something.
  10. Which is what i said.Bellamy's problem is more with the FIM and he shouldn't be bringing others into it.Or others shouldn't allow themselves to be brought into it.No point just repeating what i have already said Bit of a dilema for you..You are not too keen on Bellamy/BSI/IMG and probably for as long as i have been on the forum we have had many discussions where you are of the opinion that UEM(as they were) competitions are a pain in the butt and of little importance. Now someone has come in and is trying to give it more importance and professionalism
  11. Have to say my initial thought was this was done out of spite for the failure of the International league.Seems i was only partly right. It is much bigger and more spiteful than that.Shame for British speedway yet again.head in the sand Bellamy isn't bankrolling British speedway,so it is bad that they are letting themselves get involved in this fight.Of course just like we saw in Britian, the existing promoters don't take kindly to some new kid on the block coming in.Especially if they look like they might do a better job.But Bellamy's battle is probably with the FIM.And also the FIM should back the riders who want to compete in this and not let them get blackmailed
  12. Yes i can see that.I'd imagine it is only a matter of time before he brings out his own brand of after shave and is being sponsored by Jangler jeans or Top Shop.Trouble is i think Mikkel Michelsen is better looking and might take the market from under his feet.If only he could sing he would be the new Egon Müller
  13. Yes.I'm sure when Timo signs his contract he will put in a good work for his mad croc pal
  14. Your post is pathetic.Ok you might be roughly the same age.....apart from that you don't really have anything in common. If you went out and got pissed every day of the week i doubt anyone on here or in the general speedway world would give one.So where is the comparison? You ain't a sporting star and you don't have sponsors to look after or clubs who are trying to make money on your image.....
  15. Timo is sponsored by Mad croc.I think that will sway the decision
  16. Ok.I was being slightly tongue in cheek with my selection. But surely Finland would be a better choice than say Slovakia who only have one rider i can think of?Croatia have more. And of course Finland do have Joonas and Timo.Kylmäkorpi also being a track world champion might just add a bit to the publicity.Big "might" though
  17. Of course it would be nice to see Wölbert + Smolinski there. But are you not forgetting the mighty Finns?Mäkinen and Aarnio perhaps?
  18. Well i did witness the race of champions at the Boulevard.Briggo,Mauger,Fundin and Collins!!! But if i was to choose i'd guess i would have Plough Lane: Briggo,Mirac,Peter Collins and one i never saw Tom Farndon
  19. And of course Hyde Road was a brilliant track.Maybe when the new track opens up we will see all the averages rise again
  20. Was surprised that L.Rogers was named as T.M when you have Shawn Moran living just down the road anyway!!!!Wonder what the thinking behind that is?Could be i guess that Moran doesn't want to do the job???
  21. Just like to point out my questioning the finances was only because the business plan as far as i could make out(Phil never got back to me on whether i was right or wrong...)was based on upping the average attendance from 1,000 - about 2,000.I doubt anyone would think initially Belle Vue won't attract some great crowds, but will they be able to maintain them and reach the hoped for figure over an extended period? That is one of my slight worries. At this time of financial hardship it might be a big hope, even with a couple of big meetings. And that brings me to the other worry. The promise of agreement on this from the BSPA.They might have agreed at the moment to allocate big meetings there, but can the BSPA be trusted over a period of time? Also the core to this plan is getting the track right.Leicester also had a blank bit of paper and seem to have messed it up big time...... Sure most people have seen one or two examples of sporting teams getting a new stadium and not having enough finances to deliver a team to match. That puts pressure on the club and they end up in a downwards spiral of not achieving much, not attracting enough fans and not having enough money to get out.Like i say,i hope this doesn't happen to one of if not the most famous speedway team in the world.I really do wish them all the best
  22. I did believe the previous two posters who answered my question !!!!
  23. Great line-up which should keep the momentum going from the promising start made to the season.
  24. I have, but as long as i have read the submitted report right the business plan is based on getting between 1,800 -2,500 fans instead of the 1,000-1,100 fans they now attract.Have i or have i not read this right?
