Elitserien 2013, Round 2, May 14th
iris123 replied to Ghostwalker's topic in International World of Speedway
Denmark and the danes are confusing lol.I agree. Can't see how he is going to be confused with Mikkel Michelsen and anyway he hasn't changed his first name which is the thing he has in common with Michelsen.Even one texter the other day was getting confused though and writing Mikkelsen, which could be confusing because there is a young rider called Mikkelsen.Think his first name is Thomas though??? We did have the confusing problem of two Jesper Kristiansens. One eventually became Jesper S.Kristiansen and then totally dropped the Kristiansen and became overnight Jesper Sögaard!!And one of the kanalsport commentators told me he wondered who the hell Kenni Larsen was riding in England as in Denmark he went under Kenni Arendt. In Denmark Kenneth Hansen goes under the name Kenneth Kruse Hansen and i think it must be one of his family is Kenni Kruse...But it is not only the riders that could confuse, but the teams as well.I saw Brovst win on saturday it was on their race jackets, but in the programme(ok racecard, but i didn't want to mention that lol)they were named as Bogense Motor Klub!!!Last season i remember seeing Glumsö win a meeting, but if you looked on the official card they were Midtsjaellands,etc.... -
Report on yesterdays meeting in Vojens.Last heat decider with Brovst rider Steen Jensen unbeaten and Holsteds Rasmus Jensen getting 17 points. But for me the story within the story was our member Peter S' son getting 10+3 just a few weeks after having his first 500cc meeting.I have known them both for a number of years now and it is always a pleasure to see them,so it was great to see the team get such a super result and all the hard effort paying off.I know Peter told me before the meeting he thought it would be very tough as most had far more experience. So they both made the longish journey back home very happy i think.Few of my pic accompany the report http://www.holsted-speedway.dk/nyheder/afgorelse+i+sidste+heat_288/

It might also be worth having a limit on any nations numbers getting through. It does seem ridiculous that all the qualifiers from 1 round can come from one country!!!We have seen limits in other competitions. It is unfair that you can meet one rider two times and a weaker rider not at all in this situation. But really all riders should know that before the start.....bad news for Finland of course.Sweden also surprisingly weak.Well at least expected Thörnblom to do better

What has happened with Gaschka at Rzeszow? Is he still there or farmed/kicked out?Was surprised he got in the team in the first place.Saw his younger brother riding the other week.Guess if he shows any promise when he gets older(he is showing promise at this stage)he will also take the step over to Poland. Was also a youngster of about 7 with a Bydgoszcz jacket riding haha

Good for him.Of course it is unfair to meet one rider twice and he also is right that it could be that the last heat is on paper his easiest. He could also be excluded or fall even if it is an easy heat. That is what gets me though with the Longtrack.I look sometimes at the scores and often two riders meet each other twice whilst not meeting another in the qualifiers before the semi's..... Not only the losers complaining. One of the riders who has made it through has stated he hopes he never has to go to Ukraine again!!! Well he should think himself lucky he doesn't have the trip to Argentina haha Also would like to say it was a promising performance from the two Brits.Howarth a but unlucky maybe, but Adam Ellis i thought got a very good result for someone so young and relatively new to the scene.Could have a couple of riders who at least have continental experience if Robert Lambert developes the way many hope.

I see the former shooting star (i think he was billed as in Güstrow all those years ago)Charlie Möller is making a comeback.Talking to the Holsted boss today in Vojens, he got in contact a day too late for this mornings meeting, but hopes to line up for Holsted in the future. Will be interesting to see how this comeback goes after nearly 10 years out of the sport

Yes,we already had this discussion.I said you are Danish in the summer,Swedish in the winter and german for Eurovision Song Contest and other stuff ;-)))) But see i knew you would come up with the info about the Riss Bros.Honestly these guys are all experts on the Danes,so it isn't really that great to tell anyone how they will do,but the Riss brothers are a bit of an unknown quantity to most on here,so it would be interesting to hear how someone who has seen them thinks they will do.As for René,well i would like to see him do well but i can't quite see that happening. He hasn't got back to the level he was before he took a break from the sport.

Think i am right in saying Kevin Teager has moved to germany and is still riding on grass or longtrack

Poland Versus Rest Of The World October
iris123 replied to manchesterpaul's topic in International World of Speedway
All joking aside this looks like it could be a good meeting and it is always good to see test matches of some sort still on the fixture list.I noticed the other day a test in Prague listed for August CZ v Poland.Looking on TMW's site i can't see any previous recent test,so it is hard to judge.Doubt though it will be a full Poland side as they would surely spank CZ.But interesting all the same and might be one i would travel to see -

Don't go to Dublin either.Entirely different country.Although you might still have a great time ha ha -
Well the two nearest teams to me then.Just a matter of finding the time. But i like both tracks.Proper 80cc tracks with a fence rather than just in the middle of the 500cc.Just my preference of course. They all do the job of letting the kids learn

Sounds good-Oh and i noticed the other day .....Ahlbom is riding for Vojens,if you hadn't already found out

Parken Out, Vojens Back?
iris123 replied to iris123's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Not uptight at all.Just i think we have heard "It is too early to talk about..." with the Sky deal hahaha -
Thought there would be a longer report on your visit to one of the speedway outposts!!! What is the scene like? The track? What sort of youth development have they got going on there? Many riders? What classes do they have?80cc or 125cc?

Not sure how you can come out with "Early days to talk of Parken dropping out...." Haven't you noticed that in Denmark they ARE talking about it,so why can't we? We know there is some posturing going on.But if it is in the news then it is worthy of discussion.... -

Poor sales like anything else as well as the disaster of the rain off.As it was i think either the first year or the year of the call off, just a week or two after the GP, Stock Cars of all things got about 25-30,000.It was a great stadium, but really in the wrong part of Germany. In a couple of weeks we will have two speedway meetings over the Whitsun holiday which will attract crowds of between 6-8,000.In a decent stadium in that area you could get a very good crowd for a GP.Problem is,there isn't a stadium.Well ok if you compare it to Italy then yes north Germany could at this moment in time host a decent GP..... Is it negativity or the truth? You can't really compare the two.Parken/Copenhagen are much better than Vojens. And that coming from someone who likes Vojens.A Vojens GP is easy for me to get to and i would probably go to more than i do at the moment.Far more.I mean i will weather permitting be going to Vojens on saturday morning for a meeting.I like the place, but it isn't a good town and the stadium is just slightly better than average. Not a GP standard stadium really -

Exactly should have darfted ina couple of the German guys and given them a new first name and bobs your uncle....yanks... Mac Smolinski and Tony Busch. You could have even got that Pascal Swart who is looking for a place.........i give you "Dutch" Swart -
Doesn't sound good if one of the flagship GPs/Stadiums is maybe going to be dropped and the GP moved back to the rainy City..... http://ekstrabladet.dk/sport/anden_sport/motorsport/speedway/article1968159.ece

Pity the much wanted Robert Lambert couldn't be drafted in,but it seems he was injured in a clash with Smolinski and Kroner last night and missed a meeting in Denmark today for what seems to be his new club Holsted if i have read that correctly
