  1. What has the Russian Federation done to upset Scott then?
  2. Don't think there are many foreign fans i have met that support another country. The one i do know quite well is a member here from germany who supports Denmark in the summer and Sweden in the winter!!!! Otherwise it seems to be mainly a British phenomenon
  3. Good result for the German/Kent guys.Bet Eastbourne is a bit different to what they are used to
  4. It was all so much better on Sky.No riders dropped out and rarely were they injured ...and the Czechs were never seeded
  5. Titanic, the film.Wonder why millions went to see that knowing how it would finish? Maybe there is some attraction in seeing just how a team....Russia,GB or whoever sank
  6. Yes i echo your sentiments.Certainly hope Nic can get back to where he was a few years back. This looks like a good move for both rider and club
  7. Obviously not,but it does highlight a subject of safety. It does appear that the FIM who supposedly inspect tracks, turn a blind eye in certain instances(the lesser speedway nations maybe?) whilst rejecting other tracks from the more popular nations. How the track in Argentina got through an FIM inspection god only knows. The same could be said previously for the Belgian track and Wiener Neustadt in Austria was also a known dodgy track with large stones in the shale that could cause injuries. On the one hand i can understand the FIM wanting to help the sport get stronger on the peripheries, but safety there must be of the same standard as elsewhere.Castagna seems to be following the same path as previous incumbants with his Argentina episode
  8. Maybe not live, but surely they will fit it in somewhere over the next days ?
  9. Whatcha mean "zero effect"!!!!You always over -react like a kid who has had a bag of sweets taken from him.Maybe that is why people do it? If in fact the post have anything at all to do with you.Blimey...... On second thoughts more like a kid in the supermarket who's mum won't buy him what he wants
  10. Castagna was the person who had the idea in the first place and made a number of promises that were then "forgotten"........so it was nice of him at least to realise his idea wasn't that good.A bit too tale for the riders last year though. And i wonder if this would have been dropped from the FIM calendar if it wasn't for the tragic death that made it basically impossible to keep. Must be remembered that Italy have stronger ties with Argentina than almost any country in the world, particularly the speedway world .Some on here were applauding Castagnas appointment, but if this is an example of his work then i am not so sure there will be much difference at FIM towers than previously.
  11. I honestly didn't know he played golf,let alone got a medal
  12. Think you need to explain what is going on with Finnish 80cc speedway?Only non Dane in the top 10 in Fjelsted was from Norway!!!! And a combined Polish/German team beat Finland in Vissenbjerg!!!!
  13. Pretty shaken and bruised, but lucky to be alive.Out of intensive care(accident happend wednesday).Doubtful if he will ride again this season though
  14. I am worried if it needs an explanation.Surely a picture is worth a thousand words?
  15. Hefenbrock definitely won't be there as he is currently in hospital after being hit by a lorry whilst riding his pushbike!!!!
  16. The facilities have improved over the past few years and if Ole gets his way will improve even further.
  17. Thought i had made my view fairly clear.I don't think it is good for the sport.Just very easy for me to get to.Alth for big meetings it is often a pain in the backside to get away from.....Personally prefer meetings on the 80cc track But i am obviously in a very small minority as hardly anyone turns up even with a pretty sure fire danish winner
  18. I would agree with you Phil.Like i said on the "Parken out" thread, for me Vojens is one of the best situated tracks.Very easy for me to get to,as long as there are no road works on the Autobahn(when isn't there?)which get blocked up by the bed change on a saturday. And as you say the Danes are very partisan,so even if for tv viewers the meeting seems boring,as long as a Dane is doing well then most people seem to enjoy it.I have often come away with a good feeling about a meeting and read that it was boring. But i have often come away soaked.Think it was the Denmark v Rest of the World where i gave up and left before it was finished and then nearly came a cropper on the motorway.I am happy if the GPs go back to Vojens, but for the sport i think it was better to have a great stadium in a big city
  19. Saw 15,507 announced as the attendance at Parken.Doesn't sound like a great crowd, but without looking don't know how it compares with previous years.I thought it was generally around 20,000?
  20. I'd agree with you Phil.Fingers crossed someone does a bit of magic with Prague and sorts Vojens out in the future as well.I don't think much can be done with that Italian track though
  21. Like i said each to their own. What you find vfm others won't.I certainly wouldn't want to travel to see for instance yesterdays meeting here where there were only 6 riders in the top class racing 5 heats against each other and the 1 rider won all 5 heats and 1 rider finished last in most and 1 rider finished 4th in most.No variety as it is the same riders most times finishing in the top 3.Same with the sidecar comps or junior comps.Pretty much same top 3 every meeting.Ok maybe once a season, but i couldn't be asked to watch that week in week out.
