In what way are they incomplete?Would maybe NL level be missing? If so,it might be of interest to look at this recent thread in which Gustix has been quite active...... http://www.speedway-forum.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=75299&page=1 I think this thread was set up with a not so well hidden agenda

Stadium front yes, despite recent improvements to both neither are near the best stadiums going. What i would say though is that at least Güstrow imo is one of the best race tracks i have been to.If that comes over on tv then the sport is a winner. And if the atmosphere for big meetings there is repeated then there will really be fireworks!!!!It would look amazing if they let off the pyrotechnics like at some of the football matches Apart from that i do agree,we are going round in circles and i think there will be a bit more back + forth in this before we are sure what is going to happen next year

But surely a European Championship shouldn't have to pay the same as the World Championship? The fact that they have turned the competition into something much better than it was should be counted against them i guess in your opinion? As for doing better than a brilliant stadium like Togliatti.....Phil you are trying to have us on.We have seen the product/stadiums on offer and most can't cut the mustard...(can't get any smilies at the mo,but be sure if i could i would be laughing my butt off at your comments trying to defend Terenzano or Daugavpils....god help us with Riga etc)

British Speedway Promoters Meeting
iris123 replied to dantodan's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
My local Ice Hockey team also come out in a similar manner.Darkened arena and spot light as they come out of an oversized inflatible head of a hockey player.Builds up the atmosphere and the crowds of between 7-12,000(not to be sniffed at)seem to love it -
British Speedway Promoters Meeting

But surely if you could actually show them how many hits were being made they would take notice?Surely this was a good example to show how many new fans to the sport were brought in by this sort of action.I wonder if there has been any sort of poll at Kent to see just how many are new fans, how many are ex fans getting back into the sport and how many are just fans from around the area who are now going to more speedway etc.If you could come up with some impressive results it would show the old boys just what can be achieved.Money talks and if the results are there then it should be used as a new way forward -

Yes,but that sort of minimal exertion can be found in monopoly or buckaroo Tug of war. Now,is it a sport?Or should i say,is it still a sport? As it used to be in the Olympics i think,so was obviously at the time a sport. Now i don't know.Bagpipe playing has far more exertion that shooting and you do get world championships.......just as you do with snare drumming -

The definition you chose to use then. Shooting is a sport and the bullets are propelled by something other than the man/woman who is called a sportsperson. Not much exertion for them -

Game fishing probably isn't a sport lol Although the wikepedia site says game fish are fish persued for sport by recreational anglers. Now that confuses things a bit :-) -

It is according the BWitchers definition.....or should it be "activity involving physical exertion and/or skill"?But the definition isn't the b all and end all i think.Practically any game needs one or other or both.....conkers,tossing the caber, tossing a welly, tossing a dwarf..... -

There are some borderline sports.Speed skating is deffo a sport, but ice dancing? One week they can do a performance in the Olympics and it is sport. The next it could be Holiday on Ice with the same performance and it is entertainment.Boxing is obviously a sport.Even womens boxing is a sport. But take off their tops and it seems topless womens boxing is entertainment. Is dancing a sport? That is the big question for me.If tango and ballroom dancing aren't sports why is dancing on ice a sport? And what about bodybuilding? As they do sort of dance on stage.......Not sure what it all has to do with anything, but it is an interesting debate lol -

Don't you run a couple of selective sites? You selected the parameters that interest you, someone else has selected the parameters that interest them. -

Can't call it sparring.Parsloes got hit with a ko punch early doors, but still insists on shouting as he is being stretchered off to the ambulance, rather like the guy with no arms and legs from Monty Python lol -

No Parsloes.Your line of argument is as ever very feeble and pretty ridiculous. In fact there isn't anything to argue about. The guy set up a website on stats that interest him.Full stop. You choose to argue about what he should do with his spare time. But the fact is speedway has three league. That is it aprt from counting second half leagues.Football has how many league going down the line? You just count down 3 and say that is the equivalent of speedways thrid league.Absolute nonsense, but that is what we have become used to from you.Try to come to terms with the fact the guy isn't going to include the third tier in his website as he feels he has better things to do with his time.It is clear you don't,so please post a link when you are finished compiling them -

Nice sentiments, but i imagine nothing less than a public flogging on the Buxton center green and a promise to add all the missing stats will satisfy Parsloes + Gustix.I guess they are busy contacting the military wing of the FIM at this very moment So he never played before turning professional?Amazing guy -

No it isn't a wrong analogy is it Parsloes or are you saying that Rickie Lambert first started playing football at Third Division(now called League One) level?. Now you say these riders started off in the league,so maybe you could understand why someone thinks it is junior speedway. And on another point.I would like to pick you up on this "little England" attitude.Surely no way on earth did the current world champion start in the NL at Scunthorpe.I imagine he had some speedway experience maybe in another country beforehand? Do we see you going off your rocker about not including speedway meetings in other countries?Let's get on the guys back that he hasn't included meetings in Poland and Sweden and Czecho.......... -

Pointless remarks and ridiculing Parsloes sums up your posts here and the reason you started the topic. No matter how many times it is explained to you,you still keep on going. And you still keep getting the wrong end of the stick.No-one is "dismissing" the third tier or saying it doesn't deserve recognition.Just it doesn't interest the person who compiled these stats. It is his opinion and right.Jeeez!!!! -

iris123 replied to Parsloes 1928 nearly's topic in Years Gone By
I've got a few books on football players.None give any stats on the games they played at schoolboy level or county level even or even international youth level or for instance even FA youth cup games and certainly not games played over the park after school.........you draw the line somewhere and this person has drwan the line where his interest stops.Quite understandable and acceptable to normal people -

iris123 replied to Parsloes 1928 nearly's topic in Years Gone By
Parsloes is just upset that he can't get all the stats he wants off the site for his programme notes!!!! Bottom line is someone does a lot of work putting something together and is so helful as to put it out on the net for all to see.He even states what it includes for those who are looking for comprehensive stats. You either find what you are looking for, tell the person one or two of his stats might be wrong or you go elsewhere if it doesn't include the stats you are after.Where is the problem?....oh yeah,it's Parsloes we are talking about.Along with Mr 1940s chipping in with his two penneth......Crazy stuff like this is what the BSF is all about lol -
No Chris Holder In 2014 In British League.
iris123 replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Surely Phil,Chris or any other rider should get out and check the safety equipment before they start a meeting? It is their necks on the line just like most or all employees should check equipment is properly fitted/working?Even at school we were taught to check safety guerad etc when using machinery.Riders walk round and have a look at the track, but i can't remember any of them even taking a glance at the air fence!!! Like i say,if he hasn't checked the track/air fence properly then i am not sure he or anyone has a right to claim? It is his place of work and surely he should check all safety aspects? Most people never do,but then most people who work in dangerous areas are usually trained to do so.I would say each team should have someone trained to check air fences etc -
2014 European Speedway Championships

Oops!!!I did say "if i remember correctly".I actually forgot they held a GP this year.I was thinking about the previous 1 or 2 GPs in 2010+ 2009,when i think Olsen got the blame for a poor track for not letting the local guys do their job........? -

Surely Matt has forgotten that Chris will be lining up alongside Darcy in Pooles attemp to win the new European League?Or has Matt forgotten about the European League? Or is he going to enter it without Holder and with 2 NL level riders?
